《Romeo》Chapter 39

"You aren't going anywhere." I demanded firmly and grabbed her wrist, stopping her.

She gave me a death glare, pulling her arm away angrily, but I tightened my grip around her wrist, looking her in the eyes.

"Let go of me!" She hissed between gritted teeth, trying to release my grip, but I didn't let her go.

"Fine, guys! Calm down and go upstairs now before I kick you out of my nightclub without giving attention that you are my friends." Nathan stated in a bossy tone and rested his hands on our backs, pushing us towards the stairs.

Sienna gave him a dirty look. "I have nothing to talk about with your friend. Besides, I am leaving myself. However, I wouldn't mind if you kicked him out of your nightclub. He bothers the others." She stated bitterly and pulled her arm away roughly, giving me a murderous glare.

"Sienna!" I exclaimed, irritated. This woman knew how to make me mad in a second.

"That is enough! Go to my office! Now!" Nathan ordered, annoyed.

Sienna exhaled loudly and walked towards the stairs without waiting for me. I rolled my eyes and followed her, frustrated.

I threw my clutch into the armchair as soon as I walked into Nathan's office and started pacing back and forth. I was boiling with anger. Romeo got on my nerves.

How dare this blazing jerk accuse me of flirting with my childhood friend! Meanwhile, he cheated on me when he was in London. I pursed my lips together as those painful memories flashed in my mind.

I was smiling, excited, looking at the ticket in my hand while waiting for my flight at the airport. Finally, Charlotte managed to get me information about Romeo's address in England. She had been trying to find it since Romeo left. It was difficult for her because she went to Milan to study at university and start working as a model. Her major was Fashion Styling & Creative Direction.

I checked my watch and looked around nervously if my bodyguard found me or not. It wasn't easy to give him the slip. My father sent him with me when I came to study management at Harvard. He followed me everywhere I went. I felt like a princess who needed 7/24 security. I couldn't properly spend time with my friends because of him.

As soon as the plane landed in London, I went to Oxford. When I turned on my phone, there were a lot of missing calls and messages from my parents. Of course, my bodyguard informed my father immediately. I took a deep breath and sent them the messages, lying that I went camping with my friends and didn't want the bodyguard to follow me; so I gave him the slip, and I would be back in three days. Then I turned off my phone again. I was sure they would call and ask me to go back.

I smiled happily as I finally arrived at the place where Romeo stayed. I was so excited; finally, I was going to see my lover boy. We just contacted once when Troy let Romeo text me when my brother went to London a few months ago. Nothing more. I missed him terribly.

After getting out of the cab, I walked towards the building in slow steps, checking the address. Suddenly, I saw Romeo walking out of the building with a girl. She was grinning happily, walking arm in arm with him while chatting. Romeo told something in her ear and winked at her as he stopped walking. She exclaimed cheerfully and hugged him tightly.

I looked at them, stunned while my legs started shaking. My heart shattered into tiny pieces. I stood her without managing to move, watching them, froze. Tears were running down my cheeks uncontrollably while I watched them walking away in each other's arms.

After they had disappeared from my sight, I walked towards the stairs and sat down. It felt like I would collapse any minute. I closed my eyes tightly, holding my head between my hands while crying. How could Romeo do it to us? I trusted him and thought his feelings for me were sincere, but I was wrong. He cheated on me at the first opportunity. Maybe there were other girls as well. How stupid I was?!

I hate you, Romeo! I hate you!

I shook my head in disappointment and nibbled my lower lip.

Forget that bastard! He isn't worth of you nor your love.

I gritted my teeth and wiped the tears off my cheeks with the back of my hand. Then I booked a ticket back to Boston. After that, I barely stood up and took a taxi.

Romeo walked in, closing the door behind him loudly, and walked towards me, his jaw clenched. I rolled my eyes and gave him a disgusting look. I hated him.

"Will you tell me what got into you? Or will you just admit that you want to dump me because of Henry?" He asked bitterly.

I clenched my fist, holding myself hard not to strangle him, and gave him a murderous look. "Where is your girlfriend?" I asked sarcastically, folding my arms over my chest.

He frowned in annoyance. "Standing in front of me and accusing me about something I don't have any idea."

I burst out laughing. "Will you keep pretending like you are innocent?" I gave him a mocking look.

He sighed, bored and ran his hand through his hair. His expression softened, and he took a few steps towards me. "Juliet, I have no idea what you are talking about. I swear. And I never cheated on you. These last years, I have never stopped loving you. I looked forward to graduating; so I could come back and be with you. I missed you terribly, my girl." He stated firmly, looking into my eyes, and stroked my cheek tenderly.

I pushed his hand away roughly and took a few steps away from him. When he was close to me, I couldn't think straight. He had already started using his charm on me. However, I wouldn't get into his trap again.

"I came to visit you in London." I confessed, looking at him. His eyes widened in surprise. I took a deep breath and continued. "I saw you with some girl leaving your apartment. It seemed you two were having fun." I mocked, trying to control my voice, and ruffled my hair. Remembering that scene still ached my heart.

He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Which girl? I never cheated on you. It is impossible." He denied, shaking his head.

I pursed my lips together and looked away, sighing. Then I looked back at Romeo, ruffling my hair and rolled my eyes, shaking my head. He was thinking while rubbing his chin.

Suddenly, his expression changed. "Oh..."

The bastard remembered!

I gritted my teeth in frustration and tried to hide the pain I still felt. I didn't want to boost his ego, making him think how much his betrayal affected me.

A wide grin appeared on his face. "You misunderstood everything, Juliet." He commented, approaching me.

I shook my head in disbelief. "Will you keep denying?!"

"Probably, you saw me with Nora. There is nothing between her and me." He stated firmly. "You should not be jealous of her. Even if I wasn't in a relationship with my girl, I couldn't date her." I looked at him, confused. "However, if there is someone who should be jealous, it is me, not you. Because you are her type, not me." He added, amused.

"What?" I mumbled, puzzled and ruffled my hair.

He grinned and pulled his phone out of his pocket. Then he tapped something on it and showed me that girl's photo. There was another girl in the photo as well; they were hugging each other while showing their diamond rings in their fingers.

"Nora is a lesbian. And it is her fiancée. They are getting married soon." I looked at him with wide eyes. "And she visited me in my apartment once. Probably, you saw us then. She asked me to help her with her surprise proposal." He confessed honestly.

I was still staring at the photo, my mouth agape. So I was wrong... Romeo didn't cheat on me.

"So it seems that if my girl wasn't a jealous type, we would spend some time together in London." He commented, amused, placing his phone into his pocket, and lifted my chin up, letting our eyes meet.

"Is it my fault now?! As you can guess in that kind of situation, everyone would think that way. You should know it better." I stated, giving him a knowing look.

"Touché." He grinned in amusement. "I hope you didn't jump on your friend's arms because you were angry at me." He added, emphasizing the word friend.

"Romeo!" I hit his chest, annoyed.

"Fine, fine. Calm down. And give me a kiss. I missed you so much." He said, looking at me with puppy eyes. I smiled and brushed my lips against his lips. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer to him, and deepened the kiss, kissing me feverishly.
