《Romeo》Chapter 33

"Why didn't she tell you that she was pregnant? Or you knew?!" Troy asked, confused while looking at me.
"We don't know why she kept it a secret." Sienna intervened and heaved a loud sigh.
"Because she is a fucking liar." I retorted, gritting my teeth.
Troy rubbed his chin, thinking. "Then how will you prove it?"
"I will find a way. I don't know yet, but I will find something. Then I will make that bitch pay for her lie." I snapped angrily and stormed away while cursing under my breath.
When I came back from school, I went directly to my bedroom. I was pissed off; Samantha made me mad at the school, threatening me that if I didn't break up with Sienna in a few days she would tell everyone that she was pregnant, and I was forcing her to get an abortion, even trying to push her downstairs that she lost the baby. She was totally crazy. Moreover, how could she think that after all her threats, I would be with her and move in together.
After taking a shower, I put on sweatpants and a shirt, and lied down on the bed. I sighed loudly, closing my eyes as I was about to get crazy from thinking what I would do about Samantha.
Suddenly, someone knocked on the door.
I frowned in annoyance and said as I sat up on the bed. "Come in."
The door opened, and my father walked in, closing the door behind him.
"What happened to your face? Who did it?" He asked, worried as soon as he saw my face.
"It isn't important." I mumbled without looking him in the eyes.
He sighed as he sat down beside me on the bed and rested his hand on my knee.
"Of course, it is important. You are my son, my treasure. I don't want anyone to hurt you." He confessed honestly. I bit my lower lip without saying anything. "Who hit you?" He repeated, looking at me.
I sighed and admitted honestly. "Troy... He thought I cheated on Sienna with Samantha because she told him that she was pregnant. She knew Troy wasn't so happy when he found that Sienna and I are together."
He nodded without saying anything. "Is it because of Sienna, you don't want to accept the baby?" He asked calmly.

"No, Dad... I... I don't believe Samantha." I heaved a deep sigh and ran my hand through my hair.
"But if it is true, and the baby is yours?" He asked, looking into my eyes.
"I..." I mumbled without knowing what to do and nibbled my lower lip.
He tapped on my knee, giving me a compassionate look, and breathed deeply. "I understand how terrifying it could be when you find out that you are going to be a father. Especially when you didn't expect or plan it in the near future at all. You are afraid that nothing will be like before, but when you hold this little one in your arms, you will understand that you would do everything to protect them, and be always beside them."
I looked away without saying anything. I didn't know what to say or think.
"I don't want you to regret the lost time when you see your child again after a few months or years. It is your flesh and blood. You should take responsibility. Believe me. Otherwise, you will regret it in the future." He stated and squeezed my shoulder, giving me a sympathetic look.
"Dad, if it was true, she wouldn't force me to break up with Sienna and be with her instead. If she was really pregnant... I would take responsibility. However, she doesn't want it; she just wants to ruin my relationship and get me back. She is lying about it; I will prove it to you and everyone." I stated, determined. He sighed without adding anything.

When I came back home after hanging out with Nathan, Charlotte informed me that my parents invited Samantha for dinner. As soon as I heard it, I threw my backpack to the floor and rushed to the living room.
"Why did you invite Samantha here? I told you she was lying." I asked angrily as I saw my father sitting on the couch in the living room.
He sighed as he closed the lid of his laptop. "Romeo, calm down."
"How?! I don't want to see that bitch in my house." I stated firmly, clenching my fist. "Why did you invite her? What did she lie to you this time? Are they twins or triplets?"
"I asked your father to invite her."
I turned around as I heard my grandpa's voice.

"What?! I thought you believed me." I commented, dumbfounded.
"I do, but we need proof." He stated nonchalantly and sat down on the couch.
"She doesn't agree about the DNA test. Of course, she is lying." I reminded, trying to control my anger.
"Just trust us, Romeo." My father said, giving me a reassuring look. I heaved a sigh, running my hand through my hair, and collapsed onto the couch. "I told her I wanted to talk to her parents and invite them for dinner too. She said they are out of town and will be back in a few weeks. So she will come alone. Let's see how she will answer our questions." He added in confidence. I nodded.
I gritted my teeth in annoyance as I saw Samantha. After greeting my family, she approached me and gave me a wide smile. When she wanted to kiss my cheek, I pulled back, giving her a dirty look, and walked away.
I was picking at my food while my parents and grandpa were talking to Samantha about her so-called pregnancy.
"Did you have an obstetrician?" My mother asked after taking a sip from her wine.
"Yes, I had an appointment last week. The baby is healthy." She said happily, resting her hand on her belly. I rolled my eyes, gritting my teeth.
"Who is your doctor?" My mother asked softly, looking at Samantha.
"Umm... Dr. Martinez."
"Did your mother accompany you?" My mother asked in curiosity.
I knew what she was doing. Since Samantha came, my family bombarded her with questions. They wanted to find some information which could let us find proof of her lie. However, she prepared for these questions because she replied to all of them confidently.
"No, she couldn't. She had a meeting." Samantha replied, giving my mother a warm smile.
"I would be happy to accompany you for your next appointment." My mother suggested softly.
"Thank you, but I don't want to bother you."
"They are my grandchild. I would like to see and be sure that they are healthy." My mother stated firmly, giving her a slight smile.
"Fine, I will inform you about my next appointment. And thank you for your concern. It means a lot. Even my baby's father doesn't care about us, but you are concerned about our health." She added sadly and gave my mother a grateful look.
I clenched my fist angrily, holding myself hard. I couldn't bear her presence in my house anymore. I stood up abruptly and left the room.
I decided to visit Romeo as I didn't like his voice on the phone. We didn't find proof of Samantha's lie. He told me that his grandpa's detective was trying to get her records, but there wasn't any news yet. He was getting impatient, and he was often lost in his thoughts. I was worried about him and... us. I didn't want to think about it, but deep in my heart, there was some fear that she was really pregnant with Romeo's baby. If it was true, I didn't want to think about what would happen to our relationship.
I breathed deeply as I approached the door and knocked on it. A few minutes later, the housekeeper opened the door and greeted me warmly. She informed me that Romeo was in the study room with his father while Charlotte was in the living room. So I went to see Charlotte while waiting for Romeo to finish his conversation with his father.
"Hey." Charlotte said happily and gave me a hug. "I am glad you are here. I was going to call you." She added in excitement.
"What happened?" I asked in curiosity.
"Nathan... He broke up with his girlfriend." She replied happily and hugged me again. I hugged her back without managing to hold my smile after seeing her excitement. I didn't want to see her unhappy, but I wasn't sure Nathan, and she would get back together again even if he broke up with his girlfriend.
"I hope you will be happy." I said honestly, giving her a warm smile. She beamed at me and sighed nervously.
"My girl." Romeo said, surprised as he walked into the living room.
"Hey. Did you miss me?" I gave him a bright smile as I approached him, and planted a soft kiss on his lips.
"I always miss you when you aren't beside me." He confessed as he wrapped his arm around me, pulling me into his chest, and breathed in my scent, placing a kiss on my neck.
