《F I N》59. FIN

Fin sighed in relief as she entered the house in Donatello's arms. He insisted that he carried her, so he lifted her bridal style. He carried her to the living room and everyone else followed.

He placed her down gently on the couch and sat beside her. He wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her into his chest. "Happy belated birthday, Amata," He muttered in her ear.

She hummed in reply and closed her eyes as she leaned against him. The past few days that she was taken, she hasn't been able to sleep and exhaustion was finally catching up to her.

She yawned sleepily and let herself fall asleep.

Josephine woke up the next day at eight in the morning. She groaned when she tried to get off the bed but was held back by a heavy arm around her body. She smiled as she looked at the sleeping face of her boyfriend.

His mouth was slightly parted open and he was snoring softly. She giggled at the funny face he made. She pulled his arm off her carefully so she won't wake him up.

Finally, after a few minutes of struggling, she was able to escape his hold.

'Goodness, it's like trying to lift a bulldozer,' She thought with a huff.

She got up off the bed and went to the bathroom to get ready for the day. She wanted to ensure that Mariam was absolutely okay.

She bathed and brushed her teeth before getting dressed. After she was finished, she walked up to her bed, brushing a few strands of hair from his face and placed a light kiss on Donatello's head. He needed a lot of sleep because she knew he hasn't been resting. He had stress lines on his forehead and bags under his eyes.

She quietly left the room and went to the kitchen. She smirked as she saw Mariam with Harrison. They were sitting close to each other and seemed to be lost in each other's eyes.

'Is this how Telly and I look to everyone else?' She asked herself.

They didn't notice her until she cleared her throat. They snapped their head towards her and she saw Mariam's cheek tint a bright red.

Josephine chuckled in amusement. She hugged Mariam and her brother before sitting opposite them.

"Buongiorno," She greeted with a wide smile.

Good morning

They replied the same to her.

"Where are the others?" She asked, grabbing an apple from the fruit bowl that is in the middle of the counter.

"They're still asleep, I think," Harrison responded.

He continued, "Well, everyone except Vesper. He woke up very early and left. He should be back soon though."

She hummed. "Where did he go?" She questioned curiously.

Harrison froze. "Uh... I don't know. I am not his keeper," He rushed out before grabbing Mariam's hand and pulled her with him.

Josephine clicked her tongue. 'How suspicious,' She mumbled to herself. She didn't even get a chance to talk to Mariam but from what she saw, she was more than okay.

Not long after Harrison left, Hayes walked into the kitchen. He paused when he saw her sitting at the island.

"What are you doing awake?" He asked.

She shrugged and stared at him. He was twitching slightly and refused to meet her eyes.

"Well, I... uh... Have to leave now. Later!" He said, practically running off.

"Okay...?" She drawled out as he left.

Fin decided to go back to her room to check on Donatello. When she opened the door, she saw her bed empty.

She checked the bathroom and then the balcony but he wasn't there. As she sat down on her bed, she noticed a sticky note on her dresser that she didn't see before. She picked it up and read it. The note was from Donatello telling her that he had to leave because of an emergency and that she should sleep more.

Josephine placed the note back down and rubbed her jaw. Everyone was acting weird and even though she was curious, she would let it play out. She already had a clue about what it was all about and she really appreciated the effort, well, if she was correct.

She decided to follow Donatello's instructions to go back to sleep. However, after tossing and turning for half an hour she realized she couldn't do it. She groaned in frustration and sat up against the headboard.

Josephine sighed and kicked the blanket off her feet before standing up. She walked to the living room, hoping to find someone to help alleviate her boredom. As she reached the living room, she was confused to see the light off. Just as she was about to head to the switches, the lights came on.

"Surprise!" Her family came jumping out from behind the couch.

Her hand flew up to her chest as she tried to calm her rapidly beating heart. "Are you trying to kill me?" She asked dramatically. She knew this was the reason for acting all weird earlier but it still shocked her.

Fin smiled widely as she saw all of her friends and family there. Even Lex and Jester were there. She was surprised to see Donatello's family.

"Happy Belated Birthday, Fin," Her friends said as they came up to her, hugging her.

"Thank you guys," She responded happily. "Who organized this?" She asked them.

"Your boyfriend," Adam replied winking at her. She rolled her eyes. She excused herself to look for him.

She spotted Donatello and went up to him. She stood on the tip of her toes and wrapped her arms around his neck. She placed a kiss by his collar. "Thank you," She whispered.

"Anything for you," He replied. "I love you." He said before bringing his lips to hers.

She smiled between the kisses he peppered on her lips, "I love you too."

"Hey!" Theo interrupted them. "It's time for the presents."

Josephine watched Donatello questionably. "You missed your birthday, so, this is to make up for that," He said.

The couple walked to where everyone was and immediately, Theo thrusted a wrapped box into her hand.

"Open it," He said eagerly. He was practically bouncing in his seat from excitement.

She untied the bow and lifted the lid of the box. She smiled at the gift. It was a customized gun. It had her nickname engraved on it.

"I love it," She spoke, hugging him tightly.

One by one, she opened all of the gifts. They were all thoughtful gifts and she loved them all.

"Thank you, guys. I love you all," She laughed, tearfully.

The rest of the day passed quickly and she was happy she got to spend it with everyone she cared for. However, she was sad when most of them had to leave but she was okay. After all, she still had her Telly and her brothers by her side.

It was nine in the night and currently, she was walking to the basement hand in hand with Donatello. It was time to get rid of Anton once and for all.

Her brothers were already there when they entered. She winced as she saw Anton shackled to the ceiling. His head bowed down from the lack of energy and exhaustion. He was bleeding basically everywhere.

Donatello released her hand and stalked up to him. He punched him in the stomach and kicked his shin.

Anton groaned in pain and lifted his head slightly. He saw Josephine. He tried to speak but couldn't because Vesper had cut off his tongue earlier. Bloody tears streamed down his face as he stared at the girl he was obsessed with.

"Stop looking at her!" Anatoly growled at his sad excuse of a brother. He punched him in the face.

Donatello placed a hand on Anatoly's shoulder, silently telling him to back up.

"We are going to kill you now. Any last words? Oh, wait... You can't talk. My bad," Donatello laughed mockingly.

He took his gun from his holster and walked to Josephine. "Would you like to do the honours?" He asked, picking up her hand and kissed it, before giving her the weapon.

She looked to Anatoly, who nodded encouraging her. Anton is his brother after all. She sighed and stepped closer to the bloody man.

She raised the gun up to his head, cocking it. Her expression was blank and cold. She did not even blink when she pressed the trigger, watching his body go limp in the chains.

Donatello slipped the gun from her hand and gave it to Harrison. He tugged Josephine close to his chest as he heard her sob.

He rubbed her back soothingly to calm her down. "It's alright, vita mia. I got you."

Fin soon calmed down and pecked his cheek in appreciation.

"Clean up this mess," She heard Hayes say to someone as Donatello lead her out of the basement.

"I am proud of you, bambina," Donatello said when they entered her room.

Josephine was relieved. The man who hurt her is dead and she was finally in peace.

She was okay.
