《F I N》1. FIN

Mornings are and will always be a favourite for Josephine. She loves to watch the sun as it rises and lets everyone know it is time to wake up and start the day. Mostly because it means she gets to talk and meet people.

Fin is what people call a social butterfly and she doesn't deny it. Her kind and sweet personality attract even the coldest and meanest of souls.

Everyone loves and adores her. Even the local gangs have a soft spot reserved only for her, as she helps them from time to time. She even got them to turn their rivals into allies, something no one thought was possible.

This particular morning though is different from the others. Fin got up as usual but feels off like she knew something was going to happen. Something not necessarily bad, but not pleasant either.

She shook the feeling off and got ready for a meeting with her advisors.

Fin owns multiple companies and businesses despite being so young. She also loves caring for people at hospitals and donates whenever she can.

When Josephine arrived at her building, she greeted the receptionist and other employees she saw. A smile adorned her face as she walked into the meeting room.

"Morning," The five advisors synchronized as they saw her.

"Morning," Fin replied, pleasantly.

The meeting room was reserved for only meetings like this with her advisors so it was big enough to accommodate around ten people at a time. Any other meeting with more than twenty people was held in a much larger room.

She sat down at the head of the meeting table and crossed her legs. Her eyes darting to and from each person.

There has been an increase in sales in the past few months and more people are interested in finding out who the owner is.

This meeting though is about the nosey reporters who will not stop until they find out who the owner of the business is.

"We think-" Mark, her main advisor started but was cut off by Fin's ringtone.

She apologized and excused herself to answer the call. An unknown number flashed across her screen, making her eyebrows furrow in confusion.

"Hello?" She answers sweetly, as she always does. The phone pressed against her ear.

"Is this Josephine Arcane?" Questioned a gruff voice on the other end of the line.

"Yes. May I ask who is this?" She responded as her heart rate spiked a little. Not a lot of people knew her personal number and full name.

"This is Officer Charles of the London Police Division. Can you come to the station as soon as possible?" Officer Charles demanded more than asking.

"Yes, I'll be there in twenty minutes. May I ask why am I needed?" Fin scratched her head. Her mind was in turmoil, already thinking about the possibilities.

"Just get here as soon as possible, Miss Arcane," Charles growled and hung up.

Fin frowned at the phone and questions raged in her head. She sighed before going into the meeting room and dismissed them.

----

Josephine had a bad feeling when she entered the Police Station. She bit her lips to try and distract herself.

She walked to the receptionist whose name tag read Sofia, "Hello, I am Josephine Arcane. I got a call from Officer Charles."

"Ah, yes. Miss Arcane. He will see you in his office. Follow me," Sofia said as she got up from her desk.

Josephine followed her silently until they reached a door that said Chief. The receptionist knocked gently before walking in.

"Josephine Arcane is here, sir," She said.

"I have eyes Sofia. I can see that she is," Charles dismissed her rudely, waving her off, then turned to Fin, "Take a seat." He gestured to the typical black office chair that was facing his desk.

Josephine frowned as she looked at the crestfallen face of the receptionist and concluded that Sofia has a crush on Officer Charles, who does not seem to reciprocate her feelings.

Charles was a muscular man. He was also a bit of a looker, with his blue eyes and brown hair but alas he has a shit personality.

Josephine sat where she was told to and asked for the reason she was called here.

"Your mother died from an overdose," Charles said bluntly, leaning back on his chair. "She was found a few hours ago on the side of the road on Maine. We presume whoever she was with dumped her there after they realized she stopped breathing." His arms were casually folded over his chest.

Her eyes widened in disbelief. Her mother, the woman who has abused her when she was young, is dead.

Josephine didn't know what to feel. She loved her mother, even after all the bad things the woman had done to her. All the pain, the horror, neglect and abandonment.

Officer Charles continued, "You are only seventeen and not legally an adult. Your father has been contacted and your older brother will pick you up from here. You're lucky he pulled some strings, otherwise, you would have to stay at an orphanage or foster home for some months before the paperwork is finalized."

The way he said her father and brother sounded as if he was talking about some high kings which confused Fin.

"I did not know my father was still alive, nor that I had a brother. Why are they taking me in? I don't need them to take care of me, I am old enough," Josephine's voice raised, louder than it has ever been spoken.

"That is not my concern! Your brother will be here soon to take you and in two weeks a social worker will visit you to ask questions," Charles growled.

"Why aren't you asking questions about my mother?" Josephine asked and crossed her arms.

She was furious but tired and wanted to rest. The information was overwhelming, to say the least. Her mother always told her that they had no other family, that they died or did not care enough to stay.

Charles raised his eyebrow at the girl in front of him.

"We know what we wanted to know. Your mother was a drug addict, there is nothing more to it," Charles stated.

"What about her dealer?" She was beyond furious at this point. This so-called Chief is not doing his job at all nor does he have an ounce of compassion.

"That is none of your business. Leave it to the professionals."

Josephine got up swiftly, her chair flying back with the force of the action and grabbed the Officer's collar.

"Listen here, I have been patient and all you have been was a dick. I don't think you are right for this job. You're fired! You have twenty minutes to gather your shit and get the hell out before I have You arrested." Josephine practically shouted.

Normally she is calm and collected but she has had enough of his bullshit. He did not know who she was, what she is capable of.

"You're seventeen! You can't fire me! You dumbass girl!"

She punched him hard and held him by his hair, "You know me as Josephine Arcane but others know me as Fin Rosio," She rolled up her sleeve in her right arm to reveal her tattoos, that only she has and can be identified by.

Vines wrapped around her arm with flowers on them. Her middle name 'Rosio' written in script font was spelt out on her forearm.

Many people have roses and vines as tattoos, but her's are unique.

Normally, she'd cover them with concealer but considering that today she was wearing a long-sleeved top, she didn't feel it was necessary.

Charles' face paled, "I'm sorry, I did not know. Please forgive me," He begged.

Fin released him and he dropped to the floor, sobbing.

Everyone knows who Fin is. She is a very powerful girl who is sunshine and rainbows until you cross her. She has some of the most dangerous men wrapped around her little finger. Although many people think Fin is male because of her reputation and name.

She sighed and held a hand out to the crying man on the floor and when he grabbed it, she pulled him up.

Fin believed in second chances. She knew that it can prevent hate and feelings of revenge. However, after that chance and the same thing is done, there will be chaos.

"You have one more chance. If you screw up, there will be consequences. Have some compassion and treat everyone with respect and kindness and always do the best you can. If you don't, I will come back here for you and it won't be pretty," She whispered into his ear.

He nodded frantically and profusely apologized, promising her that he will improve his behaviour.

A knock on the door stopped her from saying anything else and she fixed her sleeve to cover her arm.

Charles straightened himself out and looked at Fin for permission to open the door. When she nodded he walked to the door and slowly opened it.
