《Sugar And Spice》Chapter twenty-seven: Water balloons

It was currently the day before Valentine's day and we had the day off as well as tomorrow. Alex and I planned on hanging out at his house before going bowling with Daniel and Hayley and then having dinner tomorrow.

As for today, we have nothing to do more specifically, I have nothing to do because my parents went away for the weekend and I have nothing to do whatsoever. I dragged myself out of bed and down to the kitchen to make myself some breakfast. I grabbed some fruits and began cutting them up.

"Don't stay awake for too long, don't go to bed, I'll make a cup of coffee for your head, it'll get you up and going out of bed," I began singing to myself when the doorbell rang three times. I clicked my tongue and wiped my hands on a rag before answering the door.

It was Cody.

"What are you doing here?" I grabbed the baseball bat that rested behind the door.

Just in case, you never know with this psycho.

"Have you seen Amber anywhere?" he questioned.

"What?" I asked in confusion.

"Yesterday, did you see her at school?" he asked impatiently.

"I don't have any classes with her, Cody," I answered.

"She's in your English class, Faith," he sighed.

She is? That's right, she is.

"Well, I didn't see her," I put the bat back. "Why?" I questioned.

"She's not answering any of my texts or calls," he huffed. "Can I please come in?" he pleaded.

"No," I said quickly. "You wanna talk? We can talk right here," I stood my ground.

"I'm worried about her," he sighed while fidgeting with his phone.

"Maybe she went out with friends for the weekend?" I shrugged. "Ask her parents," I suggested.

"Her parents are in Tokyo," he rolled his eyes.

"That doesn't mean they don't know where their daughter is," I deadpanned. "Ask her brother."

He looked at me in confusion. "What?" he questioned.

"He goes to California State University here in Northridge, Cody. Do you know anything about your girlfriend?" I arched an eyebrow at him. "You didn't even know she had a brother, did you?" I interrogated.

"I'm worried about her, not her brother," he covered up.

"Why would you come to me out of all people for this?" I questioned.

"Cause you listen and help. You calm me down..." he trailed off.

"As your girlfriend, it was my job to do that. Now? Not so much. Ask her brother, she goes to visit him often," I said before closing the door. I huffed and got back to making breakfast. I just finished cleaning up when the doorbell rang again.

I groaned in frustration before getting the door. "Cody, I swear- hi!" I looked at Alex wide-eyed.

"Cody?" he questioned, his smile falling. "Was he here?" he questioned.

I sighed, "He came asking if I've seen Amber anywhere recently. Apparently, she's not answering his texts and calls," I stepped aside, letting him in.

"Did he do anything?" he arched an eyebrow at me.

"No," I shook my head while grabbing my bowl and two forks, handing one to Alex while sitting on the couch, pulling him down to sit beside me. "Will you relax? I did shut the door in his face, if that helps," I began eating.

"It does, a little," he shrugged before beginning to eat with me.

"What do you wanna do today?" I raised my eyebrows at him.

He smirked, "Do you have water balloons?" he lifted an eyebrow at me.

"I probably do, why?" I questioned in confusion.

"Let's eat and then I'll tell you."

Okay?

"A water balloon fight? That's your great idea?" I looked at him with amusement.

"It's fun, it's harmless and it could be romantic if you want it to be. Or sexual," he shrugged.

I rolled my eyes while folding my arms across my chest. "What does the loser have to do?" I asked.

"Whatever the winner wants them to do," he said nonchalantly. "Two buckets, one for each," he announced.

"Stealing?" I asked while filling up some for myself.

"Allowed," he replied.

"Sabotaging?" I questioned.

"Allowed," he smirked. We filled up our buckets and stood on our sides in my backyard. I had the advantage of the hammock as a shield if I wanted.

"Ready? He smirked.

"Yup," I grabbed two water balloons, one in each hand. I threw the first one which he dodged and he threw one back which brushed past me. I got him while he crouched down to grab more, hitting his back.

"You wanna throw hard, huh?" he asked before throwing on at me which hit my back when I turned around to block my face.

"Ow!" I laughed before throwing one back.

He dodged it again before throwing one at me which I managed to catch without it popping. He tilted his head while smiling at me before I threw it back at him, hitting his shoulder. "Were you aiming for my heart?" he asked while throwing two simultaneously.

"Maybe," I laughed. I pulled the hammock up, blocking a few of his shots while he began walking up to my side. He ran to me and I ran to the other side, grabbed a handful of his water balloons, throwing them straight at him. He threw a lot more of mine at me with surprisingly good aim since almost all of them hit me.

I threw almost all of his at him but he still had a lot left and he used up all of mine.

He began making his way towards me and before he could, I picked up his bucket and turned it upside down, throwing however many were left on the floor, bursting them all. By the time I put the bucket down, he came running to me and picked me up.

"No!" I laughed while kicking my legs in the air. "Alex! Alex, we'll fall!" I spoke through my laughter.

He stopped and set me down, turning me to face him. He took steps back and by the time I noticed and realized, it was too late. He had the water hose. He turned it on, drenching me head to toe.

"Alex!" I screamed while blindly heading towards him.

He turned it off in between and I stayed rooted to my spot.

I took slow steps towards him when I noticed he was too lost looking at me. I then realized my white shirt had become see-through. I made my way to him and looked up at him. "Nice red bra, right?" I smirked.

He snapped out of it when I snatched the hose, spraying him with water. After a while of running around, he got the hose back from me and drenched me again.

"Okay, okay, stop!" I screamed and he did. "That's enough for today," I laughed while wiping my eyes. I grabbed the towels, throwing one to him while drying myself with the other. "Oh, my god," I sighed while drying my hair. I put the towel down on the chair, taking my flip flops off.

I spread the towel out so it could dry outside while running my hand through my hair, brushing it out of my face when he threw the towel around my waist, using it to pull me closer. My hands went to his bare chest, making me realize he threw his shirt off.

"Had fun?" he questioned and I nodded in response. "Who won?" he smirked.

"It's your game, you tell me," I wrapped my arms around his waist.

"I say you won," he smiled down at me. "What can I do?" he asked.

"Kiss me," I whispered, surprising myself when I blurted that out.

"As you wish," he pressed his lips to mine. I smiled into the kiss before pulling away after a while.

"I'll get changed then come back, okay?" he said.

I nodded before we headed back into the house. He left his phone and everything here and went to change while I went to change up in my room. My bedroom door opened as I threw his hoodie on.

"I missed it, huh?" he flopped down on my bed. I threw a pillow at his face before brushing my hair out and leaving whatever was left damp to air dry. I began cleaning up my room a little when he grabbed my wrist and pulled me down beside him.

"You can clean later," he propped himself up on his elbow while I lay under him.

"So what do you wanna do until dinner?" I asked while running my hand through his hair.

He leaned down quickly and kissed me. That was the first time we made out for that long. Twenty minutes is a long time. "Faith," he pulled away. I looked at him in anticipation. "Be my girlfriend for real this time," he whispered.

I found myself grinning at him.

He raised his eyebrows at me, waiting for an answer.

"Okay," I said softly.

He smiled before going back to kissing me. I laughed and pushed him off.

"Let's do something else now, shall we?" I turned to lie on my stomach while he lied on his back.

He tucked my hair behind my ear while his eyes scanned my face. "What do you wanna do?" he asked.

I bit my lip in thought before he grabbed the back of my neck, going right back to kissing me.

This boy.
