"What do I do, Hayles?" I asked while lying on my back and facing the ceiling, holding my phone to my ear.

"Well, what does he do when you're mad at him?" she asked.

"I haven't been mad at him yet." I huffed.

"Ever?" she asked in disbelief.

"Ever," I sighed.

"Oh whoa, you really fucked up sweetie," she mumbled. "Well, has he ever surprised you?" she questioned.

Does sixth grade count?

"Yeah?" I said with doubt.

"Think of that and then find a way to make it up to him," she suggested. "Or just kiss the hell out of him, I'm sure he wouldn't mind," she laughed.

"Hayley!" I whined. I heard shuffling before Daniel's voice spoke. She's with him?

"Sixth grade, Faith. Think sixth grade," he said before hanging up on me. Alright then, we're going the sixth-grade route.

My alarm rang and I got out of bed, got dressed in his hoodie and pair of shorts before grabbing myself iced water and made his coffee before leaving, not taking my bag today because we'll be setting up for the game tonight and saw Alex's car in front of my house.

He wasn't standing outside like usual and when I got to the car, he didn't step out and get the door for me like he normally does. I found myself pouting as I got into the car.

"Hi," I smiled but he didn't respond. "Um- here's your coffee," I reached my hand forward for him to take the coffee. He took it and took a sip but I didn't get a thanks.

Um- excuse me?

"Thanks for the coffee," he mumbled grumpily. I frowned before folding my arms across my chest and leaning my head against the window. "Is that my hoodie?" he questioned.

"What? Do you want it back now?" I huffed while turning to him.

"Why are you wearing it to school?" he asked.

"Because it's mine and I can wear it wherever I want," I mumbled.

He rolled his eyes and kept driving. I pouted and kept my gaze on the passing street. Once we got to school, we stepped out and headed straight for the field. Okay, I need to do what I planned to now.

"Can I borrow your car?" I stopped in my tracks and asked him.

"Why?" he questioned.

"I forgot something at home, I'll be five minutes, please?" I begged.

"Fine," he huffed before tossing me the keys. I went back home and grabbed his sign that I made, a huge chocolate and the note I wrote. I drove back to school, using a different entrance and left the note and chocolate in his locker, taking the banner with me as an excuse.

I got there to see him practicing. I walked over to him and he stopped running with the ball and waited for me to get to him. "Your keys," I handed them to him. I carried the sign with me and sat on the bleachers, watching him practice, smiling when he would do a little cheer when he did a trick successfully.

When people began filing in to help set up, he stopped playing and walked over to me. I handed him his water which he chugged a large amount of. "You okay?" I asked while he panted and sat beside me.

"I'm fine," he huffed while rolling his eyes at me.

Ouch.

"Damnit, I'll be right back," he stood up.

"Where are you going?" I asked. He turned around with a straight face.

"I forgot my headphones in my locker, Faith." He turned around and got back to walking. I waited till he was quite ahead before following him cautiously. He turned the corner to his locker and I loomed around the corner, watching him like a creep.

He dialed the combination and opened his locker, his shoulders slumping when his eyes landed on the chocolate. He shook his head while grabbing it and assessing it. He saw the note and took it, unfolding the paper.

'I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier, but I swear I didn't do it because he said. I like you, Alex, call it a crush if you will. Please accept the chocolate and the apology? PS, sorry for sixth grade.' That's what I wrote.

"You can come out from hiding," his voice echoed through the empty hallway. I stepped out from behind the wall and slowly and hesitantly made my way over to him.

"I'm sorry," I leaned on the locker next to his. "I didn't mean for you to get upset, I'm so sorry," I pouted. I felt like crying. Why the fuck did I feel like crying?

He put the chocolate and note in his locker and closed it before standing in front of me. He grabbed my wrists and pulled my arms around his waist while wrapping his arms around me, chuckling softly. He kissed the top of my head before I pulled away just enough to look at him.

"Forgiven?" I smiled at him hopefully.

"Yeah," he nodded while chuckling before pulling me into another hug. "You smell like me," he mumbled. I stood on my toes and wrapped my arms around his neck while his arms went around my waist.

He began walking backward and I walked forward, we stumbled around while hugging in that spot while he chuckled. "We have a game to organize, Faith," he pulled away, tucking a loose strand of hair behind my hair.

"Mm-mm," I shook my head like a child, hugging him again.

I did not know I was this attached so early.

He ran his hand through my hair before picking me up as is. I wrapped my legs around his torso while he walked back out to the field. People looked and I didn't care. He set me down at the bleachers and kissed my cheek.

"Let's organize now, okay?" he laughed while I nodded. He grabbed me and himself a mic and we began instructing and helping everyone out.

"I gotta go get ready for the game, go home, get ready." He kissed my cheek.

"I'll see you when I get back, bye." I kissed his cheek. He pulled away and smiled at me before I grabbed my stuff and ran out. Hayley was driving me and we were getting ready at mine.

"You're falling for him," she sang to me while pulling up in my driveway.

"Maybe a little too fast," I sighed as we stepped into my house.

"Oh, things will go the way they're supposed to. Let it be," she waved her hand dismissively. I made sure to bring the sign back once I finished it up at the school and I placed it on my bed before opening my closet.

"What do I wear?" I turned to Hayley who was taking her clothes out of her bag.

"Something he'll like," she replied before running into my bathroom.

That helps.

I skimmed through before picking out a pair of skinny jeans with a white cropped top that caught his eye when he was here. I started with my makeup and did what I wanted to with a little mascara and everything else and then I went into the bathroom and changed.

"How do I look?" I asked once I stepped back out. "Hot as hell but honey, do your hair," she said while applying her makeup. I brushed my hair through before pulling it up in a sleek high ponytail which I braided.

I grabbed my Adidas shoes and sprayed perfume all over myself before grabbing my things and dashing to Hayley's car with her leading the way. "Oh wow, people are here early," she mumbled while parking hastily.

We quickly got out and ran in, flashing our ID cards to security. "I'm gonna go find Daniel," she said the same time I said, "I'm gonna go find Alex." We looked at each other skeptically before running off in different directions because Daniel would be in the building but Alex would be out here.

I kept my eyes on the field while making my way around the fence and then I saw him. He was at the bench, talking to someone on the team while throwing his jersey on. I ran to the bleachers and through them, down to where he was.

"Hi," I breathed a little heavily while walking over to him.

"Hey," he pulled me into a hug. "You look beautiful," he checked me out.

"Thanks," I smiled in return.

"You nervous?" I asked, sitting beside him.

"More than usual, yeah," he chuckled lightly while scanning the bleachers. His eyes stopped in one spot and when mine followed, I understood. His dad was here this time.

"He'll be proud, Alex," I locked my hand in his.

"Hope so," he sighed as the buzzer went off. "I gotta go to the other side but I'll see you at the end of the game okay? Good luck!" I kissed his cheek before running over to the cheering stand where I was met with Hayley pushing a girl away.

"I said this seat's taken!" she growled.

"Easy there, tiger." I laughed. "Sorry," I smiled apologetically at the girl.

Good luck, Alex.
