《Sugar And Spice》Chapter fifteen: Coffee and cologne

"Does it still hurt as bad?" I asked as he limped out of his bathroom.
"Oh, it's worse today," he scoffed while getting into bed beside me.
"Just so you know, icing it once won't heal it," I sighed while getting out of his bed and making my way downstairs, grabbing the packet of peas I gave him yesterday. I came back to his room, dangling them in his face before handing them to him.
While he skimmed through the movies, I noticed he wasn't actually icing the bruise, the peas were just sitting there beside him on the bed.
"You actually have to ice it, your bed isn't the bruised one," I huffed and rolled my eyes before leaning over and lifting his shirt till the bruise was revealed and placing the ice pack lightly on it until he jolted.
"That is very freaking cold you know," he placed his hand on the bruise.
"Really? I had no idea," I gasped dramatically before rolling my eyes once again and placing the ice pack from on top of his shirt.
"Put it under your shirt after a while," I demanded. "Oh, let's watch The Purge," I suggested while grabbing my water bottle and drinking some.
"You like scary movies?" he asked a little surprised.
"No, they scare me too much in the middle of the night when I can't sleep because I feel like someone's watching me." I shrugged while eating popcorn.
"So why do you wanna watch it?" he chuckled.
"Oh, cause it's fun," I shrugged again.
"You're fucking weird, Hughes," he laughed but played the movie anyway.
We already hit the lights and closed the blinds to make the room as dark as possible.
x-X-x
"Oh, Jesus!" I placed my hand on my palpitating heart. We just passed the jumpscare when the hot villain stabbed James Sandins.
What? I think that villain's hot.
This one's my favorite purge, to be honest. Twenty-thirteen was a pretty good year in the movie world. That's when Frozen came out.
"Can you pass me the water?" he asked while we both kept our eyes focused on the screen. I blindly grabbed it and handed it to him but realized that I made a tiny little mistake when he jumped.

My eyes snapped in his direction and as I thought, I spilled water everywhere. "Oh my gosh, I am so sorry!" I bit back a laugh while grabbing a bunch of tissues and handing them to him. I tried to help clean up and dried off his abdomen area but he stiffened.
"Did I hit the bruise?" I asked, turning to look at him.
Focus, Faith. The movie isn't going anywhere, the rewind button still exists.
"N-no. You hit something else," he stared ahead at the screen.
"Okay!" I got out of bed and pulled the covers off. "I'm sorry," I held back my laughter. But then I made the mistake of looking up at him and I burst out laughing. "I'm really, really sorry, I should probably go once I help clean up," I sobered up and began throwing the trash away.
"You don't have to leave," he laughed, "The plan was to watch movies all day, we barely made it through one," he pointed to the TV as the credits rolled.
"Okay well, we should probably change the sheets," I huffed while throwing my hair up into a bun.
"You're like a wife," he laughed while standing up and beginning to throw the pillows on the ground.
"What?" I asked while doing the same on the other side.
"You're cleaning up like a wife," he stated.
"I'm gonna take that as a compliment and say you're calling me wifey material," I smirked while pulling the sheets off.
"Whatever floats your boat," he smirked before leaving to go get fresh sheets. While I placed some m&m packets on his desk, I noticed movement in my room.
I peeked through the blinds to see Cody in my motherfucking room.
I kept watching and then I realized what he was here for. I opened the blinds and the window and called out to him. "What the hell are you doing?" I yelled.
"N-nothing," he tried to cover up pathetically.
"It's in the bottom drawer in my dresser," I sighed. He came here looking for the necklace he gave me. "Giving it to Amber?" I asked bitterly.
"Do you have a problem with that?" he arched an eyebrow at me.

"No, not at all. I do, however, have a problem with you breaking into my house and room by using the spare and hidden key. Get the fuck out," I demanded.
"Gladly," he rolled his eyes before leaving and I made sure he did by keeping an eye as his car rolled out of my driveway.
"Who were you talking to?" Alex strolled in.
"Cody broke into my house and room," I answered.
"Oh, let's call the cops and get him in jail," he raised his eyebrows while eating a gummy bear. I laughed while grabbing my sides of the sheets and placing them on the bed. This boy does not know how to get sheets onto his bed.
"Alex, it's not just going to stay there, you have to hold it down," I huffed for the billionth time.
"Why don't you do it then? I'll hold that side," he challenged.
"You don't have to, I already tucked it in," I sighed while walking over to his side. "Move," I demanded. He took a step back and I stood in front of him, tucking the sheets in bit by bit until all four sides were tucked.
"It's not that hard," I presented the sheets before tossing the pillows back on.
"Oh my god, you are like a wife," he mumbled to himself. We got back into bed and I felt him staring at me while I hummed.
"What?" I asked in confusion.
"Are you humming the theme song to Friends?" he asked.
"Yeah, why?" I questioned.
"Because I love it, wanna watch?" he suggested.
"Sure," I shrugged.
Once we lost our concentration which was after twelve episodes, we turned the TV off and got to talking. "Alex!" I shrieked when I noticed he wasn't icing the bruise anymore. "I will straight up put ice down your shirt," I glared at him.
"It'll be fine on its own," he waved his hand dismissively.
"You were limping," I pointed out.
"Now I'm not," he shrugged.
"You're on painkillers and numbing cream with ice," I gave him a pointed look. "Maybe you should change the bandage," I suggested. "Rewrap it," I lifted his shirt slightly to see the bandages coming undone.
"Can you do it for me?" he took out some medicine.
"Sure, sit up." Once he took his shirt off, I took the bandage off without letting my eyes wander and applied the medicine.
When my hands touched his skin, we both jumped. "Your hands are cold," he said quickly.
Well, I jumped because touching his abs made my stomach flutter.
"Oh, really?" I pressed my palm onto his other side while laughing.
"Oh yeah, really cold," he stiffened. I finished applying the medicine and bandaged him up. I held the bandage with one hand and had the tape in my mouth while holding the roll in the other.
"Can you rip that?" I asked through gritted teeth. He ripped it and then took the tape from my mouth. I taped up the edge with a few pieces of tape and then pulled his shirt over. "All done," I gave him a small smile before going to wash my hands. I came back out to see his eyes drooping closed while he stared at his phone.
"Maybe you should take a nap, you look sleepy," I chuckled while taking his phone and placing it on the nightstand. He snuggled up into his pillows and hugged the covers.
Those painkillers make you really loopy.
"Thank you for coming today, oh, and taking care of me," he mumbled tiredly.
"Anytime," I replied.
He blew air out of his mouth, trying to push away the hair that kept falling in his eyes. I laughed before brushing it out of his face.
After a while when I thought he was asleep, I tried getting up but he grabbed my wrist and pulled me back down.
"I'm not asleep yet, please don't leave. Sleep with me," he mumbled.
I knew what he meant. I lied back down facing him. I could use a nap for an hour or two.
I stiffened when his arm looped around my waist before he pulled me into his chest.
All I smell is coffee and cologne and I could never put names to those scents when I smelt them with him.
It's not a regular mixture but I like it.
It's very him.
It's very Alex.
"Faith?" he mumbled.
"Mm-hmm?" I looked up at him while my palms rested on his chest.
"I know you like the cologne so just- take a hoodie or two with you," he smiled sleepily.
I blushed a deep red.
Tomato fucking red and just hid my face in his chest.
What the hell are we doing?
This feels too real.
