Drain was all Eva felt. Completely helpless and suicidal. She never wanted to be a pushover. For people to treat her differently. All she wanted was to be happy.
She ate finished and put her bowl in the dishwasher. She avoided to look at the drawer at all cost. But her mind was begging her to go and retreat that knife. With hesitant steps she made her way back upstairs to her room. She closed her door with a bang and plop down on her bed.
Riiing, her phone rang.
Her heart rate skip up a mile. She obviously knew who it was. With a slow and shaking hand, she picked up the phone before accepting the call.
"Eva, hi sweetheart" she heard from the other line.
Butterflies swarm in her stomach. She swallowed thickly to stop her from crying. The woman still had an effect in her.
"Eva, are you there?"
"Uhhm, yes I'm here" she answered back, her voice slightly cracking.
"Are you feeling any better. I called and messaged almost all day, but you never replied"
Eva's heart warm at the concern the woman had for her. No one really cared for her besides her parents. Nicole hurt her but yet she was falling more for her. She wanted to end the call immediately. Eva stayed silent for a while before answering.
"Yeah, I feel okay. I guess I slept the whole day through"
"Did you eat and take medicine?" Nicole questioned.
"Ye... yeah I did" she squeezed her eyes shut tightly. Damn this woman.
"Good, that's good. You looked really beautiful with your dress on today, I loved it." Nicole
spoke softly.
"Thank you" Eva thanked her with a blush coating her face.
Both of them stayed silent behind their phones. Breathing was all they heard from each other. No one spoke for a few minutes before Eva broke the silence.

She took a deep breath before question that was bothering her the entire day.
"Who was the man with you at the coffee shop today?" Eva asked shakily.
She heard Nicole's breath hitched. Fear and worry filled Evas stomach. She sat up on her bed and fiddle with and dress. She waited impatiently for Nicole's reply.
"He... he was my..uhhm" Nicole stuttered out.
"Your what Nicole!"
"His is my" she heard Nicole take a deep breath in.
Eva began she roughly fiddle with her dress. Anticipation was building up inside her.
"Answer me Nicole, please!!' Eva begged out desperately.
"My husband, Eva. He was my husband" spoke above a whisper.
Eva breath hitched and reality dawn down on her. Cold sweat starting forming on her forehead. She felt her mind go dizzy. Her breaths laboured out deep and rough.
She was having a panic attack.
"Nicole... ni..cole, help me please. Please help me" she panicked.
"Eva listen to me!! Take deep breaths for me, sweetheart. In and out!" She heard Nicole's panicking voice came through the phone.
"I can't.... I ca... can't breath please" Eva clutched her chest, her voice wheezing out.
"OKAY... okay. Tell me where you live, honey. Can you do that for me!" Nicole instruct.
The last thing Eva did was tell where she lived before she passed. She could hear Nicole call her name out but. Everything went black
