Hayze had lost River-rose in the crowd of people after Nani had snatched her away to try some of the tirmisu mini cakes.

"Rudi, where the hell is your sister with my wife?" Hayze growled as he scanned over the fancy event full of fancily dressed people.

"She's probably off dancing or something. Nani really likes River," Rudi said as he helped Hayze try to spot them.

"She's only been with River once." Hayze didn't really blame Nani for taking a liking to his wife. What wasn't to like? She was his sweet bella rose. But when Nani snatched her away without telling him where they were going, that's what bothered him.

"Yeah, but i think Nani likes her because she doesn't annoy her like some of the other girls in this industry. She probably likes her because she's not money driven. And also, River is still young, she lets Nani dress her up like a little doll. Nani says she's a sweetheart."

If Rudi knew i did that too, i'm never going to hear the end of it

"I see." He peaked over a womans thick hair to try to spot River.

Suddenly, he stumbled forward when he felt a small little someone jump on his back.

A giggle rang in his ear. "Hayzeeee."

He chuckled and slowly let the girl on his back down before turning around. "You can't do this here River."

She slapped his chest playfully before stepping forward and mashing her face into his strong chest, mumbling unintelligable words and letting out a cute little hiccup.

He pushed her back slightly. "Are you... drunk?"

She looked up at him with a cheeky smile, rocking back and forth on her toes. "Nope," she said popping the 'p'. "Nani said i'm just tipsy. She lied when she said the lime margharita thingy was a virgin. It was definetly not a virgin. I'm a virgin though." She giggled and snuggled into his chest.

He chuckled at her cuteness before he suddenly stood up straight and scowled. "Where's Nani, baby girl?"

"I dunno know," she mumbled into his chest as he pulled her aside so they wouldn't have to many people looking at them. "She said she was gonna get me another drink and then she saw an old friend."

He growled at the fact that Nani was giving her so much alcohol. "Stay here so i can get you some water."

He began to pull away but he was jerked back by her small hand holding onto the back of his suit jacket. "River. Let go."

"No, i want to go with you," she said quietly as she looked up at him with her big, doe honey eyes. They looked even brighter with the subtle winged eyeliner and gold eyeshadow lightly covering her eyelids.

He looked away so he wouldn't be tempted to give in. "Stay here, i'll be right back. You shouldn't be at an event like this while your drunk."

"Tipsyyyy," she corrected with a grin as she bounced on her toes.

"Right," he grumbled. "You still need water. Now be a good girl and wait for me here."

"Okay."

Hayze gave her one more look before stepping away to go get his wife a glass of water.

Rudi came up behind him as he ordered the glass of water.

"Did you find her?" Rudi asked as he put a hand on his shoulder.

Hayze nodded. "Yeah. Your sister's gotten her drunk already. River is definetly a lightweight."

Rudi laughed quietly. "Sounds like Nani. I'm curious to see what she's like drunk actually."

Hayze thanked the man behind the counter and grabbed a few cherries for River and plopped them into a small glass of ice.

"She's over here."

Hayze led Rudi back up to where he left River in a corner by a curtain.

As he neared her, he noticed her bouncing around subtly to the music playing in the background as she gazed out the window.

"She seems like she's on a sugar high," Rudi commented with a small chuckle.

"She always is."

River started swaying her hips as the music began to slow down and Hayze had never seen something look so cute yet sensual at the same time. He kind of wanted to cover Rudi's eyes so only he could see her dancing.

River was unaware of their presence, her eyes were fixated outside on the crecent moon that shone brightly over the dewy grass outside.

"Here pretty girl. Drink."

She turned around and smiled before taking the glass and holding it to her lips. When she didn't drink any water, Hayze held the back of the glass himself and tipped it up slowly. She slowly sipped the water and Hayze finally pulled it back when a little dribbled down the side of her plump lips. He swiped it away with his thumb and then looked her in her eyes.

Suprising him, she tilted her head and kissed the inside of his palm before covering her face and giggling.

"I see the cheshire cat outside," River said as she pointed to the moon.

Another song came on, a more upbeat one and she backed up before playfully twisting her hips and feet back and forth.

Rudi laughed and then stepped up to her and grabbed her hands, copying her movements. "I like drunk River. She's not so shy."

She giggled again and spun Rudi around in a circle. Hayze could feel the jealousy begin to set in so he reached out to tug Rudi away but instead he found himself being pulled into the little dance circle.

"Come on Hayze, twists those hips," River said playfully as she closed in on him and put her hands on his hips, trying to make him dance. "Woah, you have lines in your tummy," she marveled as she stopped dancing.

Rudi found this extremely entertaining so he stepped back and leaned agaist the wall for his front row seat.

Hayze groaned under his breath when she began to trace the v-line slanting down into his pants. He caught her hands before she could go any further and pinned them to her sides.

"Drink some more water," he said as he picked up the glass from the little table to the side of them.

She chugged the water down and passed him the glass back before spotting the red cherries on the table behind him.

"Cherries!" She squealed, making a few of the guests look their way.

Hayze shushed her before grabbing the ice topped with cherries. "I did not think this would be happening tonight," he grumbled under his breath.

When River kept bouncing around in excitement he began to wonder if he should even give her the extra sugar. It would be like giving gas to feul an already raging fire.

The pout on River's face was answer enough for him, so he passed her the glass.

She picked one up with a smile on her face but that smile quickly faded when the cherry slipped from her fingers.

She watched as it plopped onto the polished ball room floor and rolled towards Rudi's foot.

"Nooo," she pouted. "My cherry."

Rudi snickered as Hayze huffed and grabbed the glass from her hands. He picked up a cherry and held it near her mouth.

"Open." She did as he said and he placed the cherry in her mouth. She hummed in delight and danced around as she chewed on the overly sweet cherry.

Once she was finished chewing, she stepped up closer to him and opened her mouth slightly.

He picked up another one and placed it in her mouth, her lips closing around his fingers for a second.

If his father had seen them doing this in such an important event, he'd most likely disown Hayze. This was so unproffesional.

Once all the cherries were gone, Hayze took a napkin (which he always seemed to have) out of his pocket before wiping off his fingers.

A man came up behind them. "Good evening Mr. Sykes. Its good to see you here," the man said cheerfully.

Hayze turned around and spotted the slightly shorter man. He was an old business partner but young. He was thirty two and worked well along side Hayze. "Hey, Freddie. How have you been? It's been ages." Hayze shook hands with the man with a smile.

"Things have been good, thanks. Look at that, you've got a ring on your finger. Who's the lucky lady and why wasn't i invited?"

Hayze stepped to the side to reveal his wife. "Freddie, this is my wife River-rose."

His gaze fell to the girl behind Hayze and he looked taken aback for a second before he smiled brightly. "Hello. Nice to meet you," he took River's hand and planted a wet sloppy kiss to the back of it, to which River wiped off on the side of her dress. Rudi had hold back his laughter as he watched the scene.

"Its nice to meet you too. I like your tie," she said as she pointed to the red and white tie. "It reminds me of cat in the hat. It doesn't really go with the theme though."

Freddie chuckled. "You would be correct. I usually like to go against the norms. Spice it up a little." His dark eyes scanned over her small stature, his eyes lingering on her hips.

Hayze tugged River closer into his side possesively and River responded by turning to him and tucking her face into his chest.

"Hayze?"

"Yes pretty girl?"

"My heads starting to hurt. I want to go home."

Normally he wouldn't leave an important event like this so early, but for River, he'd make an exception.

Hayze came around to the passengers side of the car and opened the door.

River was beyond passed out in the car seat. She'd gotten herself out of her heels and the dress she was wearing rode up her smooth legs while she slept to reveal her creamy thighs.

Hayze carefully lifted River into his arms and she mumbled something before tucking her head into his neck, clinging to him like a little koala.

He quietly shut the car door and went up into his house with her securely held in his arms.

Blue came around the corner sniffing away at River's bum and Hayze nudged him away. "Thats mine," he joked in a whisper. "You can smell the magheritas on her, can't you?"

He shook his head in disbeleif at the fact that Nani had tricked her into drinking under age. He wasn't going to let them go out together. If they wanted to do something, they were doing it at the house.

Hayze pushed open the door to her bedroom and walked over to the bed. He tried laying her down but she just held onto him.

He tried again but she just dangled over the bed, holding to around his neck and a leg hooked around his hip.

"No. You're warm," she grumbled as she tucked herself into him.

"So needy," Hayze mumbled back. He didn't mind much though. As long as she wasn't acting like a spoiled brat.

He slowly sank into the bed with River clinging to him before he kicked off his shoes and awkwardly took off her jewlry.

As she laid on his chest, snuggled into him, he unbuttoned his sleeves and reached under her to take off his belt. River seemed unbothered as he moved around, instead she just listened to the sound of his heartbeat, slowly falling asleep to the calming sound.

Once he had his belt off, he dropped it to the floor with a small ring of the metal and then carresed her hair and closed his eyes.

"Im not letting you drink again," he whispered as he stroked her long hair.

She hummed in response before drifting off to sleep, Hayze following closely behind.
