When River-rose caught sight of the stunning woman she now knew as Merissa and her husband; the same man that said that he'd show her what love was, kissing in the middle of his study, her heart literally dropped and shattered. Just like that glass cup that Hayze had spent his time picking out of her skin.

"H-hayze," she whimpered.

Merissa was roughly shoved away from him and he looked angry, guilty and sad all at one time. The woman fell to the ground and River was having a hard time beleiving Hayze had been so rough with Merissa. He was always gentle with her.

"Bella rosa," he whispered as he neared her. "I promise you," his accent was coming through now. It was thick and full of distress. "Non mi somo ricambioto."

She shook her head in disbelief, her eyes watering and she hated that this man suddenly held so much control over her emotions.

"I don't understand you," she said quietly through her tears.

"Mi dispaice bella rosa. Sono solo fedele a te. Sono tuo," he said desperately as he raked his hands through his hair.

"I don't understand!" She shouted in frustration. Hayze looked seriously taken aback. He'd never think that she'd raise her sweet voice to him but she had every right to.

He turned to Merissa and glared at her with such coldness that the room even seemed to feel the chill. "Get out!" His accent was still fully in play. "This is your fault. Don't ever come near my property again or i'll get a restraining order."

Merissa scrambled up and grabbed her purse before speed walking out the door, giving River the nastiest glare she could muster.

River's eyes widened when Hayze rushed over to her and she tried to escape his grasp. The thought of him touching her with the same hands he touched Merissa with made her sick.

"My rose, don't be like this. I'm glad you haven't run away but let me hold you. I promise you, i am only loyal to you." He said as he slowly stalked towards her. His posture was straight and tall just radiating dominance.

"If you're loyal to me, than why did i see you kissing her?"

He sighed. "She kissed me. I never kissed back. It was partly my fault because i should have seen it coming. But i promise you, it only feels right to kiss you. Ever since i met you, my lips have only wanted to be on yours."

She shifted uncomfortably and backed up against the desk as he neared her.

"I only smile when i hear your name. When i hear you talk."

When he reached her, he caressed her cheek and ran his finger down her jaw, past her neck and to the top of her small round breast. She shivered a little and suddenly she felt like hitting her head against a wall for being so reactive to his touch even though he had just kissed another.

He pushed his hips into her stomach. "I can only get hard for you," he whispered huskily into her ear.

Almost on command, she felt a hardness grow against her stomach and she gasped and her cheeks glowed a cherry red.

He grabbed her small hand before placing it over his hard bulge.

Woah, its so big!

"This is for you," he whispered as he pushed his bulge into her hand. She blushed and pulled her hand away; fighting the urge to wipe her hand over his dress shirt.

He was about to press a kiss to her neck but she put her hand over his mouth. "I'd rather you wash your lips off first."

He laughed quietly and pulled back. "As you wish." He wrapped her hair around his finger. "You do know that i only crave you, right? Its only you."

She looked him in his icy blue eyes and could see the honesty swirling in them. "Yes. I know."

"Good. I'm yours," he said as he caressed the back of her neck. "And your mines, sì?"

"Yes."

"Now, i've gotta go wash my mouth. Be right back."

"Vito," River hissed as she peaked over the banister. "What are the police doing here? Why is Hayze talking to them? Who's the guy in the moss suit jacket and jeans."

What an ugly mix.

Vito shrugged and cleaned the space around her. "I don't know River. Why don't you go down and see."

"Um. I don't think so."

She turned to go to her room but then Hayze's deep voice called for her and she found herself freezing, like always. Ready to listen to whatever he had to say because thats how much she liked him.

"River, come down here for a second. You need to answer some questions."

River went absolutely silent and pretended she didn't just hear what he said.

Just this once.

"Bella rosa," he called.

She suddenly knew what the police were here for and she wanted no part of it.

She ran into her room and shut the door, her heart beating faster than when she ran after Blue.

A knock on her door made her jump and run into her closet, closing it behind her.

"I know you heard me, River. Come now." She could hear his voice from behind the door. It was clear and direct however she stayed silent.

"River, if i have to come in there and get you..." he trailed off. He didn't need to tell her what he would do, she already knew he was dead serious.

Her door clicked opened and so she stepped further back into her closet.

"Why are you hiding, bella rosa?" He asked gently as he came to a stop in front of her closet. She could see his feet under the crack of her sliding closet door.

"Talk to me," he said as he tapped on the door.

"Why are the police here?" she asked quietly as she creeped up to the door. She had a feeling she already knew.

"They're here to question you about Nico. What he did to you was illegal and we need to tell the police so that he can't do that to anyone else."

"You told?" She whimpered.

He tapped the door again. "I did."

"You traitor!" Her voice wasn't really a shout, but it was louder than her usual gentle, honey sweet voice.

"No. I'm your husband and i am deeply concerned for your safety and i want that asshole ex of yours to be put away," he said in a deadly calm voice. "So come out now so we can get it over and done with."

"Fine," she groaned. Slowly she made her way over to the door and slid it open. She walked out and then suddenly had a change of heart that had her running around Hayze and down the hall.

"River!" Before she could get to far, Hayze caught her by her waist and lifted her into his arm. She cried out and tried to loosen his grip, pulling and scratching at his arm.

"Quiet River," he commanded to which she immediately shut her mouth. "Why are so scared?"

She shook her head and tried wiggling out of his hold. "Please, don't make me do this. Nico will be so mad at me for telling. He'll hurt you. I don't want you to get hurt!"

He pulled her into his chest and shushed her, smoothing back her hair. She breathed in his fresh scent, most likely body wash and felt herself calm down. "Is this what it's about? You don't want me to get hurt?"

Weakly, she nodded.

He chuckled and shook his head. "Such a precious girl," he said as he kissed her hair. "Thank you. But he can't hurt you or me anymore. And you can assure that by telling the police."

The realization dawned on her face and he set her down on the ground because he was sure she wouldn't try to run again.

She would hate for Hayze to get hurt because she was too nervous to talk to the police. And it would be awful if Nico was able to take advantage of another girl just like her; someone naïve and eager for attention and someone to care for them. She was blind because she was craving for someone to actually give her affection. How stupid she had been.

"Will you answer the police mans question for me?"

If it was for Hayze and it made him proud of her than she would.
