Like a little cat, she peaked up out of the grass and waited for Blue to come her way.

Hayze had apparently trained him well enough to know the basics of hide and seek and River-rose had used it as a way to entertain herself when Hayze was at work and she had done her online school work.

As Blue sniffed his way through the grass, she watched eagerly, waiting for him to walk in her direction. Suddenly he turned towards her and started trotting forwards. She crouched down lower in the patch of flowers, preparing herself to pounce on him.

Just as Blue got close enough for her to reach, he perked up and suddenly she was flying through the air.

She screamed and shut her eyes tightly as she hovered upside down, her hair flowing around her and blowing through the breeze like the little flowers were.

"What were you doing, pretty girl?" She giggled when she heard the playfulness in her husbands voice.

She opened her eyes and used her core strenth to look up at him. "Hi Hayze."

He chuckled and shook his head as he slowly adjusted her in his strong, muscled arms so she wasn't upside down any longer.

He placed her down and she took the time to scan his outfit.

He looks so good

She swore she was feeling light headed as she scanned over his white shirt and navy blue pants that fit so well to his toned thighs and legs. He also had on thin dark suspenders that looked a lot like the color of her hair under the light. His wrist held a huge gold watch and his wedding ring shone shiny on his ring finger. His hair was perfectly slicked to the side, though a little strand hung limp off the front of his head. He stood very tall and broad compared to her, basically covering her with his shadow.

"Should i spin like you do when i'm checking you out?" He joked.

She blushed and looked down at her bare feet, wiggling her light purple painted toes in the dewy grass.

"Were you trying to scare my pup?" He asked with a small grin on his face.

She shook her head sheepishly and looked up at him. "You're back home early."

A huge smile that made his cheeks narrow and his jaw even more prominent lit up on his face. "This is the first time you've called this place home." She laughed nervously. "I like that."

He neared her and placed his large hands over her cheeks. "I came home early just for you, pretty girl." He kissed her nose and she smiled up at him, her eyes twinkling. "Are you happy?"

She nodded enthusiastically and gripped his dress shirt in her small hands. "Yes, very."

He placed a hand at the curve of her back to press her into him. "Good. You make me happy," he whispered as he leaned down and brushed his lips over her cheek. "Come baby girl, i had Vito buy some ingrediants for baking. I'm going to make some bread."

What can't this man do?

River followed after him like a little puppy up into the house and up the stairs. Just as she got through the door of a room she'd never been into yet, she realized it was Hayze's room and her eyes widened.

A giant, elegant four poster bed was in the center of the large room, covered with light gray sheets and it looked high enough to where if Hayze rolled off at night he could definetly injure something badly.

The room was fairly simple, until she spotted the large walk in closet that was filled with neutral colored clothing. And all of them looked proffesional.

Does he own no casual clothes?

"Are you planning to stand here and watch me change?" He asked with a raised brow and a small smirk on his face. He started unbuttoning his top buttons showing off his toned chest, his collar bones coming into view.

When he got down to right above his belly button, she squealed and spun around. "Sorry," she coughed.

She could hear a faint chuckle come from behind her. "I don't mind." His breath was suddenly wafting over the back of her neck. He threw all her hair over onto her left shoulder and it tumbled down to her waist. He caressed her small waist and pressed a kiss to her neck. "Mine," he whispered huskily.

She bit her lip and felt a funny feeling in her stomach. She felt like her knees would give out any minute.

"Go wash up and then wait for me in your bathroom. I got something i'd like to see you wear for me."

"Okay," she said, not even second guessing it.

"Good girl," he said quietly as he gave her hip a squeeze.

"Can i wear my underclothes?" She asked, blushing slightly.

"Yes. Of course."

He gave her one more kiss and then gently pushed her out of her room.

She quickly ran into her room, grabbed some under clothes and and a towel and then quickly got a shower with the soap that Hayze said he liked.

She was careful not to get her hair wet by using the detachable shower head and then she dried off and threw on a simple black underwear set.

She stood awkwardly in the center of the bathroom before the door clicked open and Hayze stepped in. She fought to keep her mouth from dropping open when she saw his naked chest and he was in black joggers. She'd never seen him in such laid back clothing.

"Sit up on the counter, pretty girl."

She climbed onto the cool marble counter and swung her legs back and forth as he approached.

He brought his hands from behind his back and held up a velvety blue set.

"You're actually supposed to wear them as underwear but... i can turn around so you can change into them."

She took them from his hands and marvled at the velvety softness. "These are really pretty."

"They reminded me of your hair so i had my mom go out and get them." He scratched the back of his neck sheepishly. The way he was talking was completely different than just ten minutes ago.

She choked. "Your mom?"

"Yeah. She, for some reason suggested that she go out and purchase them herself."

"Oh," she giggled. "Well, their really soft."

"So you'll wear it for me?"

"Vito will see."

"I sent him home to his family. It's just us in the house."

"Okay."

She sat on the counter to the side, watching Hayze expertly knead the dough with his big strong hands. His fingers flexed and the veins in his arms stood out as he flipped, rolled and folded the dough continously.

River slipped his large ring on and off her finger (which he had taken off so it wouldn't get floury). His ring was so big on her finger that she could spin it around on her finger with the extra gap.

"Add a little more flour onto the table, please."

She gently set his ring to the side before eagerly reaching over for the flour and sprinkling some onto the surface.

He smiled and leaned over, to which she pecked his lips like he had made her do everytime she did something for him. She didn't mind it. She loved the attention. "Thank you, pretty girl."

He finished kneading the dough and then dropped it into a really shiny, blueish glass bowl and placed a towel from over his shoulder on it.

"Would you like to make some cookies while we wait for this dough to rise a bit."

She nodded eagerly and hopped off the counter before going over and taking the sugar out and the vanilla extract while he got the other ingrediants.

Hayze measured out the ingrediants and she was amazed at the fact that he knew everything by heart.

He dumped the dry ingrediants into a bowl and she mixed happily, humming along to a song that was stuck in her head.

"You have a very pretty voice," Hayze said as he put in the wet ingrediants.

She blushed and thanked him. She couldn't help but think about how Nico found her humming annoying.

Once they had everything mixed together, they placed the cookies onto the baking sheet and put them in the oven.

When River noticed that there was another bowl with some cookie mix still left, she tried to sneakily grab some on her finger. She licked it off just as Hayze caught her eye.

"What are you doing? That has raw egg in it." He sounded upset.

"A little egg doesn't hurt," she smiled. He scowled at her and then went over to wash his hands.

The doorbell suddenly rang so Hayze excused himself and River took the time to take the rubber spatula out of the mix and lick it clean.

Just as she was scooping up a bit of the butter and sugar mixture, someone walked through into the kitchen, effectively scaring her and making her drop it onto the floor.

She started panicking. "Hayze, I'm sorry. I'll be a good girl. Don't be mad," she pleaded as she got down onto her hands and knees and began picking up the evidence.

Hayze's socked feet came into view in front of her and she literally burst into tears.

"Hayze i didn't mean to. I'll be a good girl," she cried.

He stooped down in front of her and placed his hands on his cheeks. "Stop crying babygirl, no harm, no foul," he said as he swiped the tears away. "Stop stressing bella rosa. I won't hurt you."

She peered up at him through her wet eyelashes. "You're not mad at me?"

"No," he chuckled. "Mistakes happen and if that bastard boyfriend of yours hurt you for something as silly as this, i'll hurt him ten times as worse."

He helped her up off the marble floor and brought her over to the sink before wetting a paper towel and wiping her face down.

"Rudi is in the living room. Would you like to share some cookies with him and his sister?"

She sniffled and nodded excitedly. "Yes." She was excited to see Rudi and meet his sister, especially because she had hoped she'd make a new friend.

"Okay. Well, lets hurry up and take these out before they burn."

River was ready to practically sprint out there with the chocolate chip cookies but Hayze caught her.

"Whoa there. Put this robe on, i can't have you walking out there looking so beautiful in those little velvet things, can i?"

She blushed and shook her head as she let Hayze help her into the silky, pearl colored robe. It was cool and smooth agaisnt her skin and fell mid-thigh.

"Stop," she gasped as he tied the ribbons together tightly around her waist.

"Sorry, bella rosa. I was making sure Rudi wouldn't be able to get a glimpse of anything. He might be my best friend but you're still so entrancing and i know he'd have wandering eyes."

She picked up the cookies and walked into the livingroom with Hayze's hand on the small of her back. As they stepped in, Rudi and a girl with red firey hair looked up from what looked like an argument.

"Helllooo. Ohmygosh, she is prettier than you described Rudi," the girl whisper yelled at her brother like Hayze and River couldn't hear her. "But her size you got spot on. She is so small. She's like a lit-"

Rudi cleared his throat and glared at his sister before standing up and giving River a big smile, showing off his barely visible braces. "Hi River. Long time no see. I'd give you a big hug but i quite value the use of my bal-" he was cut off by a growl from Hayze. River giggled and pulled away from Hayze before putting the cookies down and hugging Rudi. She then stepped back and gave him a firm handshake like the first time they met.

"It's nice to see you again, Rudi." She stepped to the side and waved shyly at the girl. "Hi, i'm River rose."

Rudi stepped to the side and whispered in Hayze's ear. "Lucky man, you."

Hayze smirked and watched his beautiful wife. "I know," he whispered back.

"Wow, you have such long hair," the girl marveled as she stood up and River stepped back when she noticed how short she was compared to the girl. "It's so pretty."

"Thank you. What is your name?"

"Oh, sorry! My name's Nani. It's nice to meet you."

River smiled shyly before trailing back over to Hayze. "Um... me and Hayze made cookies just now if you want some."
