I got out of the elevator and walked down the hallway to our apartment door, taking my keys out from my purse and unlocking the door. I walked in, taking my flats off and setting them down in the entry way. I walked into our living room where Racheal was standing by the window, and when she saw me, she shrieked.

"Where have you been?" exclaims Racheal, as she practically tackles me onto the couch. She must have been waiting for me here and if she was by the window, then she saw everything.

"I saw him drop you off." she adds giggling and poking me, emphasizing on the word 'him'. I brush her off.

"Oh we just hung out today, no big deal." I say, sitting up, while trying to not totally freak out, like she was.

"You spent the day with Nathan Price, one of the seventh richest men in the world. A man who most woman would kill to hold hands with, let alone kiss like you two did. I was watching you by the way." she adds making a mischievous face at me. " A man who no one thinks will ever settle down because he 's such a ladies man. A man who-" but I stop her there.

"I know, I know." I say smiling.

"Oh my god!" she practically screams. "This is so perfect, I've been waiting for you to finally meet someone, but he totally outlived my expectations."

"Hey!" I exclaim. "We aren't anything, I promise. It wasn't even a date."

"Oh sure." she says laughing at me.

"And what expectations did you have for me exactly?" I ask.

"I'm just saying I always thought you go back to Jack or something." she says, referring to my old college boyfriend.

"Ew! No, how could you think I would do that?" I ask, pretending to be very offended and she just laughs at me.

"Well, regardless, I hope he calls you again." she says. "In fact I know he will..." she trails off thinking for a moment. "You know what, even better, you should text him."

"What!? No!" I say loudly. "No way, he'd think I was crazy or something."

"Not if you play your cards right, give me your phone." she insists, and when I refuse she pins me down, tickling me until I couldn't breathe and I was too weak to fight back. She takes my phone and gets off me.

"Okay." she says, throwing her long red hair over her shoulder, as though she was preparing for something very serious and important.

"Please don't." I squeak from my defeated position on the couch and she just laughs at me.

"Trust me, I know how this works okay?" she reassures me.

I sit up and look at the screen of my IPhone 5 with her. She opens up a new message with his number, which I still had from the night I got lost at the bar. I prayed to god this wouldn't frighten him too much.

"Alright, so... here." she types a message :

I had fun today ;)

We wait for a response, and to my surprise, I saw the 'read' receipt pop up and then it displayed that he was typing back. That was fast. But I guess it shouldn't surprise me, he seems like a man who would be punctual in anything.

Good.

Racheal squeals loudly.

"He was so quick to respond." she says and I nod.

"I know." I mutter.

"Now we wait, he may see that you've read it, but if you hold off on responding for a few minutes, then it will show him you must being doing something else, slightly more important than texting him. It will keep him waiting for your response, and also if you respond to quickly, it may seem creepy." she explains and I just shake my head.

"But he responded quickly." I say.

"So? This is about you, not him." she tells me. "Always remember that."

"I don't even know if we'll go on a date again, this is dumb. It took so much just for him to take me out today." I say forlornly.

"Oh be quiet." she says, brushing me off. "Okay, now we will respond. What do you want to say?"

"I'm glad that he had fun." I say simply, at a loss and she giggles, shaking her head and typing.

Maybe next time it will be more even more fun...

She sends it and I shriek.

"Why would you write that?" I exclaim.

"It makes him think about it, then he'll want to take you out again." she explains.

"I don't like this." I mutter.

"Oh look he responded!"

Miss Smith, how inappropriate.

"Here you respond now." she says handing me my phone and I do.

I don't know what you thought I was implying, but that was not it Mr. Price.

"Oo, that's good." says Racheal and I laugh.

Very funny.

You are distracting me from work.

I smile.

Good, you work too hard.

"See you got this, but after this you need to end the conversation." she tells me.

"What why?" I ask.

"Because you have more important things to do then text him remember?" she says, laughing at me.

"Ugh, fine." I mutter as he responds.

But I make a lot of money, so its worth it. :)

"Oh! Look he sent a smiley face!" I tell her and she claps her hands together. I type out another message.

Well I'll let you get back to work so you can keep making money.

"Good, good." says Racheal, as though she was the proud teacher of a student who had just gotten it all right.

Goodbye Isabella.

"Yay!" shrieks Racheal. "Success! You've just had your first text conversation with him, and I think it wet very well!" She jumps up and down on the couching, jostling me around while I just smile at the message.

Until next time then Mr. Price.

I respond and then Racheal snatches the phone from me.

"That's good enough!" she turns it off and then grabs me, cheering.

I just laugh at her, but on the inside, I just happened to be throwing a small party.

Isabella loved to text me, and over the past few days, she had been pretty regularly, and by that I mean all the time. It was never anything important either, she would text me about random things, like her new boss and her job she just started, and how she had a suspicion he had been a serial killer at some point. And then about how much she liked cheesecake, how her roommate and best friend, Racheal, would not stop bringing her 'jackass' of a boyfriend over to their apartment and then she would tell me she hoped we would hang out again.

I liked all of it, surprisingly, no matter how pointless it all was, I couldn't deny how intrigued I was. It was distracting me, all the time, even during meetings when my phone when off, it was her. I tried to tell her one time but she just said I didn't have to respond.

Of course I had to respond.

Our family vacation was nearing closer and closer each day, and soon it was only 3 days away. I was dreading the whole thing, my mother prying at me to finally get married, my brother flaunting Lucy to everyone, my sister complaining about something, my father debating the newest political crisis. Then my aunts and uncles would be there, being loud and obnoxious per the usual. And my grandparents would be there too, fighting with each other about who was the better grandparent.

I worked extra hard, staying up very late, so I wouldn't have to work on vacation. I suppose I wouldn't have to normally, but I wouldn't get anything done even if I had to work, not with everyone around.

I was now sitting at my desk, 9:30 on a Friday night, answering some emails and getting ready to go home and finish there. I would be leaving early Monday morning to fly down to the beach-side mansion my parents owned in Florida.

There was a knock at my door.

"Come in." I said and Martha ducked in.

"Mr. Price, I was wondering if it was possible for me to get off now? My mother wanted me to drive down to New Jersey to visit her." she tells me. I nod slowly.

"Of course. Have a good night." I say and she thanks me gratefully before bowing out.

I sat back in my desk, I was now probably the only one here.

I was shutting down my computer when I pulled out my phone, and called Isabella.

It rang a bit before she picked up.

"Hello." she says, sounding a bit breathless, like she hand ran to the phone.

"Isabella." I say.

"Oh, hey Nathan." she says, obviously trying to sound casual. "What's up?"

"I was just- are you doing anything?" I ask, not sure what exactly I had planned to say to her.

"Well unless getting ready to watch Netflix and eat ice-cream counts, then no." she says with a laugh.

"Oh, okay." I mutter.

"Do you want to come over?" she asks and I perked up at the thought oddly. Did I want to go over there?

"Is anyone else there?" I ask.

"No Racheal is out with Hunter and she's staying with him tonight." she tells me.

"Alright, then I'll come over." I say and I hear her make a happy noise.

"Okay, cool, see you soon." she exclaims and then hangs up before I have a chance to say anything else.

I shake my head, wondering what I was doing. I knew I couldn't have anything with her, she wasn't a virgin, which made everything only ten times worse. It made me think it would be okay if I just- but I couldn't. I told myself I couldn't sleep with her before because she seemed to innocent, but now I definitely could not.

I knew, if anything, I would no doubt corrupt her with my world, which was not something I wanted at all. I would attempt to keep my distance and at the very least be friends with her, but I always seemed to loose control of myself when I was around her.

I stand, grabbing my things and then driving over to her new apartment, where I had dropped her off after we went out for lunch. I parked, only taking my phone with me and then locked my car, going up the steps of the building and into the lobby.

I asked the lady behind the desk in the lobby for her room number and she gave it to me, then I went to the elevator and made my way up.

I knocked on the door, twice and then it opened to reveal Isabella Smith, wearing only a soft looking t-shirt and a pair of short sleep shorts.

"Hey!" she says happily, inviting me in and when she turns around, I cant help myself from noticing how her little shorts fit snuggly around her ass.

Shit.

"Thank you for inviting me over." I say as I shut the door behind me, slipping off my dress shoes near the entrance and venturing father in. It was a cute apartment, it was surprisingly large.

A large kitchen was off the living room, which had a large flat screen on one wall.

"So what do you want to watch?" she asks, motioning me over to the couch where she had perched.

"Hmm?" I ask.

"Well, I was going to watch a movie or something, come watch with me." she explains and I walk over the plush white leather couch, sitting down and watching her browse the options. Her long brown hair tumbled down her back in waves and her face was completely clear, and pale, like I remember the rest of her body being.

"What about this?" she asks and clicks on a movie, it looked like a romantic comedy.

"Sure." I say, knowing I wouldn't pay attention to it any way. Good thing I brought my phone, maybe then I could answer some emails.

We were about half way through the movie when she looked over at me.

"So, how was your day?" she asks.

"It was draining." I tell her.

"I knew you worked too hard." she says giggling.

"No I don't." I snap at her and she rolls her eyes at me. I glare, that pissed me off.

"Well, my day was good. I like my new job a lot." she explains and I nod. My phone goes off and I see a message from my brother about our family vacation and I grimace.

"What's wrong?" she asks and I look up.

"I have to go on this family vacation." I tell her and she smiles.

"Awe that's so nice, I wish I had a big family to do that with." she says, shaking her head. I was suddenly struck with an idea, and before I could really think, I had spoken.

"Why don't you come with me?" I asked and immediately smacked myself mentally.

"Come with you? And meet your family?" she asks. "Isn't that a bit odd? I mean are we even dating."

"You're right..." I trail off.

"No, no. You know what, I'll come with you." she says, smiling at me and I somehow, felt comforted at the thought. "I'll use some of my vacation days, that's the good thing about this new job, they gave me a lot."

"Okay." I say slowly. "I'm leaving Monday morning, I'll pick you up around 4 am." I tell her.

"Oh wow." she says giggling. "That's early."

"Hm, not really." I mutter and she just laughs at me. It was odd to me the thought of her being there with me was comforting, my mother would flip, and everyone else would probably find it as weird as I did. But I couldn't go back down, and to be honest, I didn't think I wanted to.
