《Mr. Elitist [ A Novel ]》11

| Nathan |
The movie theatre was full, the commercials were blaring and it was nearly time for the show. It was 7:55 and it started at 8:05. I was anticipating that it might be very stupid or very funny.
"I think you'll like it." says Isabella next to me.
"I don't know, I really don't enjoy comedies." I tell her and she giggles to herself.
"Nathan? Do you have an issue with laughing or even, enjoying yourself?" she asks, humor still fresh in her tone. I frown at her and work my jaw, pissed off by her questioning.
"No, but I have an issue with eating that." I snap, motioning to the popcorn she was eating. It was honestly complete crap and I could only picture that, along with whatever other junk she ate, killing her at an early age.
"But it's good. And I don't eat it all the time, everything in moderation." She says, giggling again.
"And you really shouldn't drink that, there are so many disgusting chemicals in that soda." I say, eyeing the Coke she got along with it. "And in that popcorn." I add.
"Oh really?" she asks raising an eyebrow and then rolling her eyes at me. I glared, of all things, eye rolling was one of my least favorite things a person could do.
"Oh get over yourself, eat some." she says and I shake my head. "You know you're so uptight sometimes that I worry about you, just be free Nathan." she insists laughing.
"It's not going to kill you." she adds after a few moments of silence.
"Yeah but you're so small, it could really effect you. With that tiny body you should be eating a lot more substantial foods." I say matter-of-factly.

"What are you a fitness and health guru? Do you want me to eat carrot sticks at the movie theatre?" she asks rolling her eyes and something inside me flared. It was incredibly rude to roll your eyes, and when she did it, it was just that much worse because she was ignoring me, and wasn't bothered by it at all. I wasn't used to that.
I didn't like it.
"Well I won't eat the whole thing if you have some." she says and I just stare.
"Fine." I snap and I take some of the popcorn and pop it into my mouth.
I made a face as I ate it and swallowed. Okay, so it was meant to taste good, but I knew it was still full of all kinds-of chemicals.
"Now go dump it." I order and she laughs out loud.
"You have to eat more than that, come on, it's not like you're going to get fat is it? Live a little, your still young, don't grow up too fast." she says and I glare.
"I'm 25, it's not that young." I spit.
"Uh, yeah it is for all your success, news flash but most people your age are either still in college or bumming around finding a purpose in life." she plows onward, even under my icy gaze. "Think about it, your life is already set and over before it's even begun."
"Enough." I snap, turning away and trying to ignore her words as the lights dim.

The movie was completely hilarious. I don't think I've really laughed that hard in a very long time. It made me forget our conversation we just had from the opening scene and through the whole movie it only built up.

Isabella was laughing, but her laugh wasn't obnoxious like most people was. Isabella's laugh was...it was contagious and it was shameless in a good way.
It terrified me that I had had a good time today and it terrified me that it was with her. I had to stay away, I needed to, or god only knows what would happen. I hadn't ever been anyone's boyfriend, I hadn't been interested.
I wasn't good at the kind-of thing. I knew how to get a women in bed and blow her mind, but I rarely did anything else with them.
Isabella was too innocent for me, she was too pure and happy. I knew I would corrupt her, some way, I didn't know how exactly, but I would. I wanted to see what she was like in bed, I was attracted to her since that night when she was wearing the dress, but I would probably be too...dominating for her.
I would probably be too much for her tiny body to handle and I was afraid of breaking her, corrupting her, hurting her, I didn't honestly know and it was hurting my brain to think about it.
So I concluded with myself, better to avoid her than to get too close and have to think about all the shit running through my brain.

"That movie was so good." she says smiling to herself as we left the theatre. We walked to my car and we both got in, I started the car.
"Yeah, it was funny I'll give you that." I say, pulling out. "So where am I taking you?" I ask.
"To the Ritz-Carlton." She tells me and I nod, driving through the late-night streets towards the hotel. We talked for a bit longer, about scenes from the movie and other, simple, pointless, things. Soon we had pulled up outside the hotel and I got out, went around and opened her door for her.
"Well thanks for coming out today Mr. Super Mogul." she says giggling to herself, and stepping out of the car.
"Thanks for suggesting it." I tell her, looking down at those blue eyes. Her light, brown hair was blowing in the breeze and I suddenly really wanted to run my hands through it and feel it.
"Maybe you'd want to do it again sometime?" she asks, stepping closer and I smelled that rosy sent again. It was so subtle...enticing. I found myself staring too long into her eyes, she was getting too close and this time I didn't know if I could stop her.
She wanted me to kiss her, I could feel it. I didn't want to do it. Well, I did, so badly at times, but I wasn't going to. I swallowed, running my teeth over my bottom lip and taking her face subconsciously in my palm, to stop her from getting any closer. I ran my thumb across her cheek, it was so soft, so incredibly soft.
I suddenly couldn't breathe, our lips were so close.
"Have a good night Isabella." I whisper, letting her cheek go. She nods and smiles softly.
"Until next time Mr. Price." She says. Then she waves and walks into the hotel, the glass doors enveloping her into the building, away from me.
I had the sudden urge to follow her.
But instead I shook my head, walked back around my car, climbed in and drove away into the darkening night.
