《Going For The Goal》Chapter Fourteen

Savannah's POV
It's been four days since my and Nate's first date and I still can't get rid of this stupid smile plastered on my face and it doesn't help that today Brooke is coming. Nate has been spending the last couple nights in my room and I haven't had a nightmare except when he stayed out late with Jack and I went to bed without him, I promised that after Brooke left I would tell Lauren and Andrew about them oh and we also said that we would tell them about us.
"Savannah let's go!" Brayden called since everyone else was out and I still didn't have a car Brayden was volunteered for the job "Coming!" I yelled back and rushed downstairs
"What time does her flight get in?" he asked when we got in the car
"12:30" I responded and he nodded tapping the steering wheel to the music playing and within two hours we had arrived and I could no longer control my excitement. As soon as the car stopped I jumped out towards the entrance "Come on slow poke!" I yelled to Brayden who shook his head and jogged to join me, when we arrived at her gate it was 12:25 and Brayden and I talked mostly about her. Surprisingly he asked a lot of questions. Then people started walking off towards their loved ones and I came face to face with my best friend. We both squealed and ran into each other's arms "Oh White I missed you so much" Brooke exclaimed
"I missed you too!" I smiled and gestured to Brayden "Brooke, this is Brayden, Brayden, Brooke"
"Hello" Brooke responded shyly, wait shyly? My best friend has never once been shy in her life and I didn't miss the huge smile that Brayden now had on his face "Hey" he responded and then suggested that we start driving back. Most of this car ride was Brooke telling me about the team and how they all miss me which made my heart sink. Soon enough we were home and I took Brooke up to my room to put away her stuff, she sat on my bed and I rose an eyebrow

"What?" she asked
"My best friend, my confidant best friend was shy with Brayden!" I squealed
"Is he the brother you're with?" okay so I may have told her about Nate but I forgot to mention his name "No. I'm with Nathaniel and no one knows but you"
"Tell me about Brayden" she got anxious
"He's nineteen, he's going to school to be a cop, he's the funny one and has a seriously big heart"
"Does he have a girlfriend?"
"Nope, he broke up with her a year ago. Hasn't had one since" and she squealed "I told you she would have hot sons"
"Savannah?" I heard Nate's voice outside my door and I smirked at Brooke
"Come in!" he walked in and greeted Brooke, he went to kiss me but quickly pulled away when he remember Brooke so I grabbed him by the collar and smashed my lips against "She knows" I said after we pulled away "Wanna go out for lunch?" he asked us and I turned to Brooke
"Will Brayden come?" and Nate gave me a questioning look and I whispered to him that I would explain later so he turned back to Brooke "Yeah, he'll come"
"I'll come where?" Brayden asked walking in my room
"To lunch with us" I answered and he looked at Brooke and smiled "Sure I'm in"
For a moment they just stared at each other until Nate cleared his throat breaking their moment
"Well let's go then. I'm hungry"
We decided to go in Nate's car with him driving and me riding shotgun, the other two were more than happy to sit in the back together. As we were driving Nate turned the music up to drain them out "I think we should tell him" Nate said quietly enough Brayden didn't hear but loud enough for me. "Tell him about us?" I asked and he nodded his head, I thought for a moment and then agreed. If any of them would be happy for us, it would be him. Nate turned the radio back down "Hey Brayden, I need to tell you something"

"Oh my god are you finally gonna tell me about you and Savannah being a couple?" he faked excitement and Brooke giggled
"Wait how'd you know?" Nate was completely confused as was I.
"Nate, not only am I your brother, I'm basically one of your best friends, I know you better than anyone. Plus I caught you guys kissing the other day in the kitchen" he shuttered
"And you're okay with it?" I asked
"Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be?"
"Thank you Brayden" I said and he smiled "Anytime"
We pulled into a small diner called Rosie's and Nate lead us in
"How many?" the lady asked
"Four" Brayden responded
"Right this way" we followed her to a booth where she placed our menus and Brooke quickly jumped in the spot next to Brayden.
"Hi my name is Ashley and I'll be serving you today" she smiled a bit too long at Nate for my liking, he must have noticed too because he place his hand on my thigh giving it a small squeeze
"Can I get you something to drink?" she asked in a fake high pitched voice still only looking at Nate
"Yeah I'll have a pepsi" Nate stated plainly then turned to me "What would you like love?" I smiled at the new nickname and she clenched her jaw "Pepsi's fine" Brooke and Brayden both order sprite and she left "Thank you" I whispered in Nate's ear he squeezed my thigh again only higher making me clench my legs and he chuckled "You have nothing to worry about" he whispered back. She came back glaring at me but I payed no attention to it, she was not gonna ruin my day and as the old saying goes 'Karma's a bitch' Ashley, our wonderful waitress ended up tripping and spilling all the food all over her and making everyone in the small diner laugh. Lunch went good after that Brooke and I talked for a lot of it about back in New York and she would always catch Brayden looking at her, it was so cute! I've never seen him like this before. When we got home Brooke dragged me up to my room.
"Have you talked to Lauren about the soccer thing?"
"I can't Brooke"
"Savannah-"
"Brooke" I cut her off "It's a lot of money"
"It's not like they don't have cash"
"But they already took me in. I would feel bad to ask them for money" I sighed and she nodded
"Wanna watch a movie?" I asked changing the subject
"Sure" she replied and I could hear the disappointment in her tone but I don't know what else to do. I got up and put The Notebook in and pulled out my secret stash of candy that Austin had suggested I do or else Nate would eat everyone's candy so we all have our own stash. I handed Brooke a chocolate bar and that's how we spent our night, watching movies just like old times.
