Romeo's pov
Two hours prior
After I took care of my blue balls with the whore of the week, I got ready and grabbed a few of Kadens men to come with me to the boardwalk.
It's only twelve but I want to get a view of the area to make sure we're not walking into a trap.
When we arrive and see two cars already here, we all grab our guns.
Nobody is standing on the boardwalk but just incase.
I let out a deep breath when I see a family walking up to the car and driving away leaving us alone.
"Don't you think you should of told Kaden?" Jullian says from the passenger seat.
I lit a cigarette before looking over at him.
I shake my head. "Stormi just got home, he purposed and they are celebrating. Let them be. Kaden hired us to handle shit like this, don't you think? If you can't handle this then maybe you should find a new job."
My words are a little harsh but I'm tired of Jullian being a little fucking baby all the time.
He's always whining and trying to fill Kaden in on everything even the unnecessary shit.
If I thought Kaden should know, I would of told him but I don't think he does until after the fact.
He deserves to spend time with Stormi.
Stormi deserves to spend time with him especially right now when she just got home and needs to relax and heal.
We sit in silence for the next fourty minutes until a black Escalade pulls up on the other side.
I nod my head as we all exit the vehicle.
We all get out and slowly walk to the middle as they approach us too.
As I see they outnumber us by five extra people, my palms start to sweat.

A bad filling arises in my chest as we are a few feet away from them.
A girl smiles at me and my mind tries to remember who she is.
I've met her before, but where?
"Hello, I'm Angie. You might remember me from the event you held a few months ago. I've done every catering event you ever had." She says and it all clicks.
Kaden loved how cheap she was for her service.
Jullian clears his voice as I stare at her for a few minutes without saying a word.
"You said you had information on who the leak was. We're here now. Who is it?" I say putting my hand on the handle of my gun.
I don't draw it out, just simple resting my hand on it incase they try something.
Angie smiles. "I've known Stormi for longer than she thinks. I am the sister of her mom. When they disappeared, I tried to get her but her parents wishes were for her to go through foster care because they felt she was safer. Her parents paid me great money to watch over her and I did a great job until----you went up to her asking her tons of questions!" She pointed at me as she screamed the last part.
"Then I see her in newspapers and all over the internet with your boss! How am I doing what her parents gave me the responsibility to do if you guys are keeping her from me!"
"We're not keeping her from you." I chuckle.
"She hasn't returned a single call or text she that night. She also hasn't came to work. Her apartment is empty. You're manipulating her!"
"She came freely. It's not our fault she doesn't return your call! And for being family, you should of taken care of Stormi instead of allowing her into the system knowing that damaged her and almost took her life on multiple occasions!" I yelled back.

Angie takes a few steps closer to me so we're standing toe to toe.
"If they would of found out, they would of taken Stormi. There weren't be a Stormi! I did what I did to protect her! We all did!"
"As a parent, you protect your child! Not hand her off to others to torture and damage her!" I yell back.
"Where are her parents?" Jullian asked calmly.
Angie and I both stare at him.
Angie let's out a vicious laugh.
"They are in hiding. They've been trying to get Stormi back but you guys keep ruining the chance." Angie says stepping back fixing her dress.
"How can we trust any of you?" I ask.
"Because they aren't lying." A voice says behind us.
We all turn our heads and I narrow the voice to Ryan.
Fucking trader.
"I've been hired to join to check on Stormi. To give daily updates and make sure nobody hurts her but that seems to be an issue with Kaden. Every chance he gets, Stormi gets hurt."
Ryan walks besides Angie and gives her a kiss.
"This is my husband Ryan. We're going to make sure you hand over Stormi so she can be reunited with her parents." Ryan says.
I shake my head and let out a laugh.
"Stormi is grown. She can make her own decisions. You can't force her away from Kaden or any of us. If she doesn't want to go to you, she doesn't have to!" I defend her.
I shove my hand in my pocket and click button 7.
7 is Quin.
The only one who knows the plan that's at home.
I call him and leave my phone in my pocket.
"Stormi is coming home! With or without your help!"
"If you wanted her home so bad, you shouldn't of given her up." Jullian says shocking me.
Angie rolls her eyes.
"We're going to get Stormi. And you still not stop us." She says turning around.
I reach for her arm and as soon as I touch her, I hear a bang and feel a sharp pain going into my rib.
I look down and watch as the blood starts to pour out of me.
I grab my gun quickly as I fall to my knees and I shot Ryan.
Everyone else grabs their guns and start to shoot as Angie runs to the car.
Jullian chase after her but falls to the ground when he gets shot in the back.
I grab my phone out of my pocket.
"We've been shot. We're at the boardwalk off of 17th, infront of the bait shop! Call for help and tell Kaden. Tell him they are coming for Stormi!" I say as fast as I could.
"Yes sir!" Quin says.
I put my phone down and try to calm my breathing as much as I could.
My vision starts to get blurry.
I stare at the sky counting the amount of stars that are in the sky as I hold my gun wound.
Helps coming. I repeat over and over in my head as I count stars.
Fifty two
Fifty three
Fifty four
Fifty five
Fifty six.
Fifty,
Fifty,
The tears start to form in my eyes as I can't remember the next number and the blackness takes over.
Leaving me in the most peaceful state I've ever been in.
