Here I laid on my bed at two in the morning. All the tries of sleeping were fucking useless, every time I closed my eyes. All I could see was him, his grey stormy eyes that could make anyone on their knees in a second and his stupid smirk that clouded my thoughts.
Why was I even thinking about him?
Maybe I'm just horny or something. Truth is, since the incident earlier today I didn't even do anything in those remaining 10 minutes and now I just feel a hot burning fire on my lower region but, I just couldn't. Even when my hand travelled several times below just for me to call it quits.
Why would I get off to Valentino?
Because he's a hot son of a bitch.
No. Get your fucking shit together Athena.
Why am I even talking to myself?
You have no friends.
Wow.
I sighed and sat down on the edge of my queen sized bed. The room was well decorated, the whole mansion was. My room was in a black and gold colored theme. The walls were a blackish grey with gold strips on the bottom. The bed was covered in a silk fabric. A glass chandelier hang on the middle of the room as the ceiling had a sun design/carving.
My stomach rumbled and I slightly frowned. Standing up, I peeked my head out the door looking both ways just as I saw a guard walking the other side of the hall. I smiled as I walked out, slowly closing my door and I begun my journey to the kitchen.
The kitchen was empty and quiet and for me, that was a welcoming sign. Turning on the lights, I quickly toasted some bread and I started cutting some cheese.
"What are you doing?" A voice called out making me halt.
Startled, I shot out my knife in the way the voice called out. My eyes widened as Valentino slightly moved his head to side nearly avoiding it as the knife plunged itself into the wooden door. I sighed as I turned around continuing with my sandwich.
"Stuff." I mumbled as I put it on my plate and sat down on the kitchen island.
He rose an eyebrow as he walked towards me, "We need to work on that."
I rose my grilled cheese to take a bite but I halted my steps as I rose my head, staring at him. "Work on what?"

"Your speed on throwing, anyone could've dodged that." He informed sitting next to me. I scoffed and took a bite of my sandwich. Valentino reached inside his sweatpants pocket and took something out as he lazily threw it on the marble counter.
My dagger, I forgot about it.
"I remembered I had it since the Aliza incident, thought I should give it back to you." He mumbled as he leaned down resting his head on the palm of his hand.
"Thanks," I paused as I slid the dagger towards me, "I had forgotten about it."
There was an awkward silence between us, I was munching on my sandwich while his eyes were wandering across the kitchen. I cleared my throat, "So how did the meeting go...?" I asked while bouncing my leg up and down on the stool.
I didn't go to the meeting. I stayed in my room cause I couldn't bare the fact that Valentino almost...almost made me off myself to him. Call me exaggerated all you want but when you get turned on by the guy you hate the most, it feels unreal and just weird.
Lets also mention he was the one who basically kidnapped me.
I observed him closely noticing how his hands were stuffed into his sweatpants pockets, his black t-shirt was like a second skin on his body. His grey eyes were staring zoned out at the wall In front of us and every once in a while his jaw clenched making me think whatever was going on inside his head was annoying him.
I slowed down my chewing awkwardly as I tapped my foot against the stool. He suddenly turned to me making me avert my eyes to the other side of the room. Connected to the kitchen was the living room where beige couches rested with a black furred carpet layed underneath them. There was a glass coffee table in the the middle, once where all the men were sat was now empty.
"We have to stay here now." His voice said abruptly. I turned to look at him finding him already staring at me, his tongue darted out licking his lips and it quickly went in again and that action made something start in my stomach, which I didn't like.
"I know...isnt that what your dad said." I mumbled staring at him with a puzzled look.
"Its gonna get complicated." He paused abruptly standing up as he went behind the counter walking back and forth as he gripped his black wavy hair that seemed a mess, maybe from the stirring he did when he was on his bed.

"Nothing is adding up...how you got into this mess? We usually dont care about this shit, if someone messes with us then we just kill them but for some reason my family refused to do the same to you, the reason why? I dont know."
I stopped midway and I pushed the plate away from me suddenly losing my appetite. My eyebrows furrowed automatically by what he said.
Why didnt they do the same to me?
This thought clouded my thoughts until Ambers words took over my mind.
Everything is not what it seems
You belong here
"I belong here." I mumbled out looking up at Valentino with widened frustrated eyes.
Valentino looked at me like I was crazy, "What?! No you dont. You're just a average teenage girl from New York who is ill enough to be behind a computer screen all day."
I ignored his comment, "Are you fucking stupid?! Everything is happening because of me. It makes sense now! Where do you think I got my skills from?! My mom...Oh my god, my mom and my dad!"
He stared at me with look i couldn't recognize.
"My mom! She could fight, fuck, give her any weapon and she could use it like it was a fucking scissor. A pencil! She could murder you with that too and my dad, he could figure out any walls and codes and then theres me! I have both of their shit, you think its normal for a teenage girl to know this shit?!"
He opened his mouth to respond but i spoke before he could. The words seemed foreign on my tongue but it was only explainable reason for me turn out how I was. I wasn't ashamed of how I was and for my parents to be the same as me, it felt...nice.
"My parents were in the mafia, just like yours..." I whispered.
His puzzled face turned into a full out smirk, "So you figured?"
He crossed his arms over his chest as he got closer, I took a step backwards as shock entered my whole system.
"You knew?!" I screamed in full out anger, my whole body was trembling as I pushed at his chest. He didnt even move which made my eyes narrow in frustration. "What the fuck is wrong with you?! You knew my whole fucking life story and didnt tell me!?"
By now im sure the whole house was awake and Valentino didnt stop me from yelling instead he seemed amused by it by the dorky smile he had on his lips. His tongue darted out wetting his lips and i groaned out loud and i pushed him away going to the back of the counter trying to keep space between us.
He tsked as he tilted his head in a mocking manner, "Remember minutes ago when you called me stupid?" He questioned as he leaned down staring at me below his dark luscious lips.
I gritted my teeth as I gripped the counter with my now pale fingers. "Yes?" I gritted out.
"Oh come on, don't be mad amore." He paused looking at me then he let out a deep chuckle from the back of his throat and for a second my anger dissipated. "What im trying to say is...you are the one whose stupid here. Realizing just now..." He trailed off with a goofy smile.
I stared at him in disbelief, "I will fucking end you."
If it was possible, his smile widened more showing his slight fangs and i could of swore i felt something drop in my stomach.
"You are welcome to try, but we both know that wont end up well."
"I hate you so much."
He started walking away as he turned off the kitchen light, slight darkness faded me but it was still visable by the hall light where his body was walking. He stopped just entering the hall and he slightly turned around with a half smile.
"I do too, amore." He said as he winked.
And with that he walked deeper into the hall leaving me alone with the darkness in a frustrated and blushing mess, although i didnt know if i was blushing by how mad i was or by him.
I paused for a second halting my breath before i called out, "Is there more stuff you know?"
I waited for a moment and i let out breath thinking he wasnt going to respond.
"I know more than you think."
And with that the hall light turned off leaving me completely alone.

The friends found themselves home in the real world, exactly as they'd been the night they were taken, as if no time had passed... except only three came back. Hi there! This was my entry for National Novel Writing Month, because why only write one series at a time? The more the merrier! (meanwhile, my keyboard bursts into flames...) I'm also the writer of The Last Science, an ongoing low-fantasy/speculative sci-fi series. If you're familiar with that, you know what to expect here: lots of character-focused drama and dialogue, not a whole lot of traditional action. However, I'm writing a bit differently than usual here, and in a very different structure, so there should be some surprises for returning readers. I hope you enjoy it! [Discord] — for those of you who want to hang out and chat. Cover art (fullsize): Path of Revelation, by taenaron (Tobias Roetsch), modified by Etzoli. Normally I like to do my own cover art from scratch, but I was in a rush for the contest. Might be replaced down the line if I get time. Right as Rage
Only 15 years have passed since the miscreant god, Villi, stole magic from the gods and gave it to mortals. In response the mortals seem to be doing their best to squander this gift. The Kingdom of Abrune regulates it, the church of the Sacred Hierarchies outright condemns it, but one 'wildman' from across the sea begins his journey after being cursed by it. Vakdragnar's curse manifests when he loses his temper. It has driven everyone he’s ever cared about away from him. Out of options and money, he travels to the city of Tirough and quickly finds himself on the wrong side of the law. He is persecuted despite his intentions to do good. How can you stand against evil if everyone you’re trying to protect thinks you’re the villain? And if this curse is truly a part of him now, what if they’re right? **************************************************************************************************** Right as Rage is a story I’ve been excited to write for some time now. I hope everyone is as excited to read it. This story is going to be told over several arcs, with each arc containing 7-12 chapters, and an interlude or two each. I plan on submitting new chapters once a week on Tuesday evenings.
