"You better start explaining." Valentino growled as his hands tightened around the stirring wheel making his knuckles turn pale white.

After the commotion yesterday, we all packed our bags quickly and went to sleep together may I add. All of us were in the same room, it was technically better this way, if there were any intruders we would be together and not separated. Anyways, Valentino was boiling, he was mad...even mad is an understatement. He was furious, he yelled curse words and basically destroyed every single house adornment that remained.

He wouldn't let us get close to him or talk to him, and when Kai tried to get close, Valentino cursed his whole existence. We all knew his anger wasn't towards us but to Melissa and the people to blame. Talking about Melissa, I woke up every once in a while changing Melissa's bandage and to be honest I don't even know why I helped her after everything she's done.

Melissa sighed, "But-"

"I don't fucking care, you better start explaining or so help me, I will throw you out of this fucking car, so start." Valentino said looking at the view mirror with his grey eyes that were filled with rage. If he had the chance I bet he would have already killed Melissa.

Melissa scoffed sitting in between Kai and Leo. Me and Valentino were in the front.

"Melissa hurry the fuck up and explain!" Kai yelled clenching his fist fighting the urge to knock out Melissa.

"I won't explain shit." Melissa crossed her arms over her chest stubbornly as she shook her head side to side.

"Okay." Valentino calmly said, but he was anything but calm as his jaw was clenching so hard I thought he would break his teeth and his hold on the wheel didn't loosen but instead tightened more.

"Okay?" Melissa asked shocked and surprised Valentino agreed with her but I knew in seconds something was going to happen.

Valentino stayed silent looking at the road ahead as he suddenly whispered to me. "Take the wheel, hurry up."

I looked at him with wide eyes, "Are you insane?! I'm in the passen-" I tried to whisper back but I didn't even finish as Valentino quickly took his hands of the wheel making the car swerve to the side and I immediately stretched my body all the way to the left taking the wheel in my hands as I tried to steady the car.

Valentino quickly opened the department in between our seat and took out something I couldn't see as I tried to keep my eyes ahead making sure not to crash. Leo screamed as the car swerved.

It was until I saw Valentino turn around in his seat and I heard a gun's reload making me freeze with the need of turning around to see what was happening.

I heard Melissa gasp answering my question, Valentino probably had his gun pressed against her temple.

"I tried to be nice but you're just testing my patience, so we're going to do this the hard way." Valentino said with such a cold and harsh tone making a shiver run down my spine. "Answer my fucking question or I'll shoot a bullet between your eyes and I don't think you'll like that, would you?"

"You know, I need a little bit of hel-" I said panicking. The car was going on full speed as Valentino had pressed the pedal harder unknowingly.

"Shut the fuck up Athena." Valentino yelled clenching his jaw as he turned around to look at me. I really wanted to yell back at him but he had a fucking gun and me? I was trying to drive a fucking car.

I sighed.

His stare was so ínstense that I had to clench my jaw to calm myself.

In the corner of my eye he turned back to Melissa as he pressed the gun harder on her temple. "Explain now."

His tone held no room for arguments and I heard Melissa silently squeal as the cold metal pressed harder against her head.

"Fine I will, but don't kill me."

"No promises." Valentino coldly said with no emotion in his voice. I've never seen this side of him. Yes, he has been rude to me and we had our fights and there will probably be more but this side of him held no emotion.

"Umm...I'm going to start from the beginning since Athena probably doesn't know some things."

I grunted in agreement as Valentino pushed me to my seat and he took control of the car. Fucking asshole.

I turned around in my seat looking at her waiting for her to continue.

"So I was just like you Athena...kind of. I got kidnapped just like you because I had assassin skills while you had hacker skills. This was like 3 years ago. I was put in a group with these three guys and we went to a mission, I had no idea what I was doing. Anyways, we were supposed to stop a drug deal. Everything kinda went wrong and we escaped, well Valentino, Kai and Leo did but I tried to escape by hopping into a helicopter. Which I had no idea how to use-"

Valentino stopped Melissa and started to explain the rest of the background story. He was still mad and thats probably why everybody stayed silent letting him continue.

"Me, Kai and Leo were running and she decides to get on a helicopter by herself that she spotted. At that time when we kidnapped her, I became attracted to her, we sort of both did. Then next thing we know, we see the helicopter that she was trying to control, collapse on the ground and fucking explode. We considered her dead at-least that's what Lincoln told us. Those were the hardest fucking 3 years of my life."

Melissa cleared her throat, "and that's when I come in, Lincoln told you I was dead but I was actually alive and healthy. But Lincoln had everything planned out. I was supposed to be a double agent which I am but everything went wrong. I chose a safe house and then unexpectedly you four arrived. Which is why Valentino was shocked to see me alive."

"Falling in love with you was the worst mistake I've made in my entire life." Valentino muttered to himself running a hand through his jet black hair. He had eye bags and he looked pale which made him look sick and tired.

Melissa scowled as he heard him, "Believe me, it was the worst mistake I've made too. Ongoing, When you guys arrived everything went south. I was supposed to be a double sided agent for the assassin agency and the Russian mafia, but I was actually working for the agency. Somehow, the mafia found out. You may have noticed I've disappeared for a few days and then come back, Athena was the only one who actually cared about it. Meaning she was the only cautious ones."

She stopped as she took a big intake of air and continued.

"Those days I disappeared I was at the Russian main house getting information for the agency which I didn't know you guys were doing the same thing. The mafia somehow found some of my background info and they probably connected the dots and figured I was a double sided agent. When you guys were wherever you were, considering how all of you were well dressed, you guys were probably at the the annual mafia ball."

"In the mafia ball there can be no violence even though your enemy is there. This ball is just a day of peace and gathering."

I raised my eyebrow in realization and turned to look at Valentino. "Was that why you couldn't kill him on the spot with a sniper or something." I asked.

He turned to look at me with his grey eyes but he quickly averted them back on the road. "Yeah, my dad would have killed me if he found out. The annual mafia ball is a gathering with Meaning that if I killed him, war would start and the rules would have been broken which they've never broken."

I hummed feeling satisfied with the answer.

Melissa continued grunting then and there with the pain in her abdomen. "While you guys were at the fucking party, I had returned back to the house unknowing they were following me. Then boom, The house turned into a war zone of 1 against 50 men. Which I obviously lost as you can see." She stopped and pointed to her stomach. "They thought I lived alone so they stabbed me and left me there to die slowly but gladly you guys arrived and Athena saved me."

I felt Melissa's eyes on the back of my head.

"Why did you help me by the way?" She questioned with uncertainty.

I pressed my lips together, "To be honest, I don't know. You've been everything but nice to me and I still fucking helped you."

Melissa must've noticed the harsh tone I had and she tried to explain. "You know, I never meant anything I said to you. After you guys arrived to the house I contacted Lincoln and he said to act like that towards you, which I didn't want to but still complied."

Why would Lincoln do that?

I sighed looking out the window as tiny droplets of water started to fall from the sky. "It doesn't matter if you didn't mean what you said. You can't take it back, you said what you said and those words hurt."

"Im sorry." She helplessly whispered.

I didn't respond but instead I leaned my head against the window. I didn't want to sleep, I couldn't. The rain started to get harder as the droplets ran faster against the window.

A small smile formed on my lips as I closed my eyes and I remembered a memory.

"Mom!Mom! Look, the droplet I was teaming with won!" I screamed bouncing on the car seat.

My mom turned in her seat to look at me with her vibrant blue eyes that looked similar, her brown hair was in a ponytail defying her face features. She heartily chuckled staring at me. "I'm glad."

Another chuckle was heard as I turned my head to the noise. My dad's deep chuckle rang in my ears as he stopped the car in front of a house. Our home.

He turned around in his seat as-well and I was met with green eyes that looked just like mine. His blonde hair was messy and he had dark bags underneath his eyes making me furrow my eyebrows in worry.

"You know, little one. I'm glad your safe, one day you'll grow up and become a fierce, young woman and become like us. Try to make the world a better place."

"Happy 7th birthday dear." My mother said smiling taking out a box and giving it to me. I small hands reached out and grabbed it eagerly opening it. The necklace. It had a very little dagger charm and a computer charm hanging on it.

"Those two represent us. We'll be with you wherever you go. You'll never be alone..."

Everything became a blur as I my mom tightly grabbed my hand and took me to a dark hidden room.

"Stay here, okay? Don't move." My mom whispered looking around paranoid.

"But I want to help you and dad. I want to fight the world with you." I exclaimed silently pleading her.

My mom shook her head and silently chuckled. "Believe me, you , but just..." she paused trying to find the right words, "...just not right now."

I smiled and sighed, "okay mom, I love you. Can you make me my favorite pancakes tomorrow?"

At this she frowned but she quickly composed herself and tears formed in her eyes. "I don't know sweety but what I do know is that I love you and never forget that." She looked over her shoulder as she quickly said. "Mommy has to go now, okay? I have to help dad."

I nodded as she walked away and stood in the doorway as she lastly whispered "I love you, never forget that." She closed the door leaving me alone in the darkness.

I flinched and closed my eyes as I rested my mouth on my arm tightly to prevent a scream from escaping my throat as I heard two gun shots rang out...then silence.

I wrapped a hand around my necklace that hang around my neck, as I repeated the same phrase my mom said earlier silently.

"They'll be with me wherever I go, I'll never be alone."

"I'll never be alone..."
