《What I Want ✔》Chapter 31

Sabrina invited me over to their house which wasn't very far from Caleb's. She insisted on me coming and was super excited about it.

I managed to find it very easily. It wasn't as far as I thought it would be. It was two streets away from Caleb's house.

Vincent was spending the day at his mom's and I left Damien with Emma. She wanted him to get familiar with his cousins. Vincent said that he would pick up Damien on his way home so I didn't have to worry about that.

I pulled into the yard and was greeted by a beautiful villa. It was absolutley magnificent.

Sabrina was already waiting there for me. She was practically bursting with joy.

"Aubrey! So glad you could make it." She cheered as she pulled me in for a hug.

"Ofcourse I wouldn't miss it for the world."

"Great. Let's go inside." The interior was just as amazing as the outside. In fact is was spectacular. I loved it.

"This is beautiful."

"You like it?" She asked.

"I love it. Those paintings are so unique." I commented as I stared at the wall.

"They are one of a kind. Dad got them for mom as an anniversary present."

"That's lovely."

We finally reached the living room and I was served some apple pie and lemonade which I enjoyed.

"It's nice to see you again Aubrey." Sofia, Sabrina's mom stated as she walked down the stairs.

"It's nice to see you too Sofia." I smiled.

"There is something we have to discuss but not here. Follow me."

I didn't know where this was going but I followed her anyway. She led me out to the patio where I met her husband along with my parents and Nathan.

What the hell was going on here?

"I know you may be confused honey but you should have a seat." My mom stated and I obeyed.

"There's something we have to tell you." My dad sighed.

'This isn't good.' I thought as a worried expression clouded his features.

"Dad what's wrong?"

"They are your birth parents. Sofia and Terrance are you birth parents." Mom blurted. To say I was surprised would be an understatement. I was shocked.

"W-what?" I stuttered as tears pooled in my eyes. I didn't know how to feel.

"We are your birth parents Aubrey." Sofia smiled as she hugged me.

I couldn't move as I processed what was happening. My arms slowly reached up and I hugged her. I finally found my birth parents or should I say they found me.

"We love you Aubrey." Terrance added as he hugged me too.

"If you love me then why did you leave me in a basket. Didn't you want me?" I sobbed.

"Oh honey, let me explain. Ofcourse we want you. We want you no matter what but things were hard.I gave birth to a twin, you and Nathan and I was only 16 at the time. I had no idea what to do. I was scared and my mom had already kicked me out. Your father's family was rich and didn't want me to spoil your dad's reputation. I couldn't bare to do it myself but I knew I had to give you both away. So you could have a better life. I sent my friend to drop you off at an orphanage but I guess she didn't. She left you in a basket in an alley and ran away before anyone saw her. When I went looking for you I couldn't find you so I had to assume someone took you to give you a good life.As for Nathan, your father's family took him as their heir. But your dad dated me in secret until he inherited the company. Then we eventually got married. We searched for you Aubrey but we couldn't find you. When you came to Caleb's party I instantly knew that you were my daughter. After all we share the same eyes." She laughed a little. "Aubrey we're sorry that we couldn't raise you. And it hurt me to give you up. I'm sorry. Despite how hard the situation was, I shouldn't have let you go." She cried as she embraced me.

"It's okay. I get it, you both were young and you made mistakes." I looked at my parents, the ones that raised me. "The thing is, biological parents or not, you both have always been there for me and I love you. I could never view you both any different. You two will always be my parents." I hugged them and my mom began tearing up.

"You guys did an awesome job raising her. She turned out just the way we want her to be." Terrance or should I say 'Dad' smiled.

"I think Aubrey is lucky. She has 4 parents." Sabrina stated and we all laughed.

"So I have a twin." I laughed and Nathan smiled.

"Yes, this is awesome. My very own twin sister." He beamed and I chuckled.

"That is pretty amazing. I think I'm older though." I smirked and he shook his head.

"No way. I highly doubt that. Mom who is older between the both of us?" He questioned.

"Aubrey is older by 2 minutes." She said and I stuck my tongue out at him.

"That's not fair." He whined.

"I'm soo glad we're sisters. I never had a sister. I'm really excited. Can we do all the stuff sisters do? You know, have sleepovers and braid each other's hair." Sabrina gushed.

"Ofcourse we can do all those things." I hugged her.

"Aubrey I would love to spend time with you. I know I can't make up for lost time but I want to spend the time we have together." Sofia smiled.

"That would be great. I would love to spend time with you."

"Did I tell you all that Aubrey is getting married!" Mom cheered.

"That's amazing! Congratulations." Sabrina clapped.

I received congratulations from everyone. I felt so loved and happy. If someone told me that I wouldn't be married to Haden I'd say that they're crazy.

My life was complete now. I couldn't ask for better friends and family. Sure it was difficult the way things started out and there were rough patches along the way but I knew that things would turn out fine. Vincent changed everything. Vincent helped me become the person I was meant to be. I love him for that. For his resilience. He proved to me that he cares about me. He proved to me that he would always be here for me when I needed him.

Now that I discovered my birth parents, it gave me closure and in a way it made me realise how lucky I am to have these two people raise me. Terrance and Sofia are my biological parents but the ones that raised me are my real parents. They took me in and gave me a home and that's all I could ever want.

After spending the evening with them I decided to head home since it was getting late.

"Hey baby. I'll be home soon." I told Vincent as I walked to my car.

"I prepared a special diner for you. Can't wait to see you."

"Sounds yummy. I'll be there soon Vincy. Give Damien a kiss for me." I laughed and ended the call.

I got into the car and began my journey home. However, I didn't reach very far.

In the distance I saw a truck coming full speed at my car. I didn't know what to do so I swerved away, avoiding the truck but crashing into the bridge.

My head smacked against the dashboard and I was beginning to lose consciousness. I felt the car tilt forward as if it was about to fall into the water.

Black dots clouded my vision and darkness engulfed me.
