《What I Want ✔》Chapter 23

Aubrey
"How are you feeling baby?" Anthony asked as he rubbed my back. I pulled away from him and turned my head. I was two months pregnant and I wasn't really showing yet.
"Can you leave me alone?" I yelled. I don't usually shout at people but he was pushing it.
"What's gotten into you?" His eyes widened.
"A life depends on me Anthony. This child is depending on me to survive. Now take a look around at the situation. I'm stuck in a room all day, everyday. I'm not free. When will this end?"
"I'm sorry but I need you here. If I let you go you will run back to Haden."
I turned away from him and rubbed my tummy. The baby bump was still very small but I could still feel my baby in there.
"Look, I'm gonna be here for you and our baby. Just tell me what you need." He smiled.
"I need you to leave me and child alone please. Your presence is making me sick." I spat.
"So be it." He left the room with those words.
This is not the life I had in mind for myself and now my hopes are wavering. There's so much I wanted to do. I need to get out of here as soon as I can. I need this child to have a better life. I won't let my baby suffer with Anthony.
Fifteen minutes later breakfast was delivered to my room. I ate but only for the sake of my baby. I still don't know how I'll be able to look at this child when he or she is born because this baby is still part of Anthony as much as I hate to admit it.
After taking a long shower I brushed my hair and got dressed. Sitting on the bed I thought about myself. Sure I miss Vincent and my friends and family but I'm the one in this predicament. And as much as I wanna hope for Vincent to rescue me, I knew it would be hard to face him. I felt like I've betrayed him.
The door opened, completely jolting me from my thoughts.
It wasn't Anthony that entered but Angelo. He looked unsettled and a bit nervous.
"What do you want?" I scoffed.
"Look, I shouldn't be saying this but... Some dude Vincent is looking for you. I overheard Leonardo and Anthony talking about it." He muttered as he looked around.
"What?"
"It's true."
"Why are you telling me this?" I questioned.
"Because you aren't safe here Aubrey. Anthony is a bit wack.
"Really? You don't say."I rolled my eyes.
"I'm not kidding Aubrey. He's planning something and let's just say Haden is going to lose everything and Vincent might not come out of this alive."
Those words startled me and I began to panic.
"Angelo. What's going on?" I breathed.
"Aubrey I can't talk right now but meet me in the kitchen at midnight." He said as he turned to leave.
"Wait! Why now? Why are you saying all of this to me?"
"Because no one deserves to go through this. You have a kind heart Aubrey and you remind me of my sister. So hurting you would be like hurting her and I could never do that. Anthony is going too far now. I'll see you later." He slipped out the door and disappeared down the hallway.

My mind wandered back to what he was saying but it didn't make sense. What could Haden possibly lose?
Vincent
We went to the address written in the book and came across a mansion. It was absolutely beautiful.
"I have a feeling Aubrey is here." Caleb stated as we drove up to the gate.
"On second thought maybe one of us should approach them. I'll go probe as best as I can, why don't you guys park the car further down the street. I'll call if I'm having trouble." Xavier suggested and we all agreed with his plan.
He came out of the car and walked up to the mansion while I drove about two corners down.
We waited in the car for about a minute when Xavier came running back.
He was out of breath as he got into the car.
"Guys I saw Anthony and Leonardo were on the balcony. They were discussing something. I ran away before they saw me."
"Are you sure it was them?" Blake inquired.
"Positive."
"That means they do have Aubrey." Caleb's eyes widened.
"Exactly."
"So how do we get her back?" Alex questioned.
"We'll have to watch the mansion for the entire day. Our best shot will be at night. Let's go get some weapons because we can't barge in there empty handed." I stated.
"I'm thinking baseball bats and a couple knives." Xavier smirked.
"And we'll have to round up the gang. We don't know how many other guys are in there so we have to be prepared."
"I'll call them and let them know the plan." Alex volunteered.
"Great. We could go to my house and get some weapons. Trust me, I have a lot of useful stuff there." Blake stated and we nodded.
"I'll go get my car to come back here and keep watch." Caleb offered.
Don't worry Aubrey, we're almost there.
~
All of the guys were assembled in my living room as we went over the details of the plan.
"Everyone got the plan?" I questioned.
"Can you go over it one more time please?" Xavier begged.
"So basically. We enter from the back. Watching the mansion today I didn't notice any security at the back."
"Neither any cameras." Alex added.
"However that doesn't mean that they are completely off guard. We still have to be careful. We aren't splitting up. We don't know our way around the house and we aren't risking it by splitting up. That way, they can't take us out easily. Xavier you'll stay in the SUV and wait for us. You'll watch the house and tell us if anyone is coming and if we take more than 30 minutes you'll have to call the cops. Caleb will be there with you."
"Why can't I come with you guys? I'm missing out on all the action." Xavier pouted and we all laughed.
"Shouldn't we call Haden?" Derek asked.
"Would it matter? He clearly doesn't care." I reminded them.
"That's true." Nicholas agreed.
My phone rang and I eagerly answered it.
"Anthony just left." Caleb stated.
"Great we'll be there soon." I ended the call.
"Guys. Let's go."
We arrived at the mansion in about 20 minutes.

"I'm hungry. Did you bring the takeout?" Caleb groaned.
"Here it is." I chuckled and he scoffed it down greedily. McDonald's was Caleb's favourite and no one could get between him and that.
"Everyone ready?" I asked and they nodded.
We made our way around the back of the mansion and began scaling the wall easily. The rough and jagged edges of the wall made it easier to climb and hold on.
In mere minutes we were in the yard.
"Caleb said there was a door around here somewhere." I muttered.
"Over there." Nicholas pointed.
We darted over to it, looking around for signs of anyone and making sure to go undetected.
"Guys maybe we should split up. It may be risky but we'll meet back here in 15 minutes. Who ever finds Aubrey first will just send a message on the group. Simple." Blake suggested.
"I don't like the idea but I guess that's the fastest way through. We could cover more ground." I admitted.
Turning the knob on the door, we found that it was open.
"Well that's a relief. I'll meet you guys back here. Good luck and be safe." I said and they nodded.
The house was fairly empty and quiet. You could almost hear a pin drop. I walked upstairs and into the hallway. Aubrey has to be in one of these rooms.
Suddenly, one of the doors opened. I held the baseball bat in my hand ready to swing. The person wore sweat pants and a black hoodie. I would recognize that figure anywhere. My heart leapt with joy as I ran and hugged her. I found Aubrey.
She was startled and tried to push me off.
"Easy Bre. Its only me." I whispered as I rubbed her hair.
"V-Vincent." She stuttered as tears cascaded down her cheeks.
"Shhh. I'm here baby. Don't worry I'm here now." I cooed.
She kissed my lips as her hand went through my hair. I pulled her closed and kept her in my embrace. We pulled apart a few seconds later and I stared into her eyes. She looked pale but nonetheless beautiful.
"I knew you'd come for me." She cried tears of joy.
"I would never leave you Aubrey. You mean too much to me."
"Vincent I-
"Well well well. Isn't this just a touching scene." Anthony smirked as he strolled upstairs.
"I thought you left." Aubrey sneered.
"Oh I did but I got a call that some people were snooping around so I had to come back. Don't worry, your two friends are okay." He said as he signaled someone and four guys came in holding Caleb's and Xavier's unconscious bodies.
"You're a monster. What is wrong with you? Don't you get it. I'm not happy here. Just leave me alone." Aubrey screamed.
"Don't you see Aubrey? I'm in love with you."
"That's not love. It's a weird obsession man and you need to get over it." I stated.
He pulled a gun out of his pocket and pointed it and me.
"What's it gonna be Aubrey? Get over here now or loverboy gets it." He smirked.
"Aubrey don't do it." I yelled.
"Time is ticking Aubrey." Anthony mocked.
"Fine."
Aubrey walked over to him just as Nicholas, Blake, Derek and Alex walked in.
"I don't think Aubrey is going anywhere." Blake stated.
"That's not up to you." Anthony chuckled as the two other men pulled out guns.
Aubrey walked up to him and put her hands on his chest. He looked down at her and his features softened. In a split second she was able to knock the gun out of his hand and it fell on the ground.
"You little bitch." He barked.
We charged in and fought the guys but my main focus was Anthony. I wanted nothing more than to beat him badly.
He grabbed Aubrey and they struggled a bit. It all happened so fast. I almost had Aubrey in my arms but Anthony pushed her causing her to tumble down the stairs. No sooner than he pushed her, Blake shot him in his leg.
"Aubrey." I screamed as I ran behind her.
She laid still on the ground as she looked up at me. Her beautiful eyes were staring at me. Blood dripped from her legs and her face was contorted in pain.
"Aubrey it's going to be alright. I promise." My eyes filled with tears as I saw her body lying there.
Derek was by my side in seconds. He quickly called the ambulance and the cops.
The rest of the guys had tied down Anthony and I couldn't help put punch him in his face.
He looked up at me and smirked.
"Great shot." He laughed.
"You're sick." I spat and punched him a couple more times until the guys had to pull me off.
"Vincent you'll kill him. Which he deserves, but calm down. Besides Aubrey needs you. Don't waste your time on this bastard. We've got this." Nicholas stated.
I returned to Aubrey's side and held her hand.
The paramedics arrived shortly after and we were on our way to the hospital.
I don't know how long I was sitting there but it felt like hours. Caleb and Xavier were also taken for medical attention. This was a lot to take it but atleast that bastard got caught.
Aubrey's parents and sister arrived sometime after. They were all anxious to see her.
"Thank you so much for finding her." Emma sobbed as she hugged me.
"Thank you all." She beamed and hugged each of us.
"We are indebted to you." Aubrey's dad said.
"Its fine Mr.Evans. Aubrey means a lot to all of us and we're happy to find her." I smiled.
"Thank you, and call me Matthew, son." Aubrey's dad chuckled.
The doctor came out and she wore a look of discomfort.
"Aubrey's family?" she questioned and we nodded.
"Alright. So Aubrey has a mild concussion and she did accumulate some bruises. Her shoulder was fractured and so was one of her ribs and I'm sorry to inform that she lost the baby."
"Baby?" Her mom inquired.
"Yes. She was about two months pregnant. Didn't you know?
Aubrey was pregnant and there was no doubt about it. That bastard raped her.
