I punched my steering wheel in anger. "FUCK!" I cursed with gritted teeth. "FUCK..FUCK...FUCK!" I kept punching my steering wheel. What the fuck did I just do?...I kissed Aliya....my friend who is like a sister to me. What the fuck is wrong with me?.

I sighed and leaned back in my seat with my eyes closed. "What have I done?...what have I done?" I whispered to myself. My eyes were tightly shut as I fisted my palms. My phone suddenly went off making me grunt. I held my phone up to see who was calling me but I threw the phone to the passenger seat when I saw Aliya's name.

"Why did I do that?...I'm not even attracted to her then why?" I asked myself feeling ashamed. It was her fault...her face randomly came in front of me and thinking it was her as I fell more into the kiss. "This is all your fault Eyshana...you are such a curse in my life" I hissed with rage. My phone kept ringing and ringing but I didn't answer it.

What will I say to her?, heck I can't even face her after what I did. I tugged on my hair when my phone wouldn't just shut up. Feeling frustrated I picked up the call but froze from what I just heard. A wide smile stretched on my face as I turned on the engine and drove madly to the hospital.

I reached the hospital and ran inside towards Preeti's room. I slammed opened the door, breathing heavily. There she sat looking weak but a smile played on her face as she looked straight at the wall in front of her. "Ezhil?" she whispered as tears formed in her eyes. I ran towards her and hugged her tightly, stroking her hair. "Preeti" I whispered in happiness. "Thank god....thank god you are awake"

I broke the hug and cupped her cheeks. I kissed her forehead and hugged her again. "I missed you Ezhi" she cried in my arms. "I missed you more" I smiled as I broke the hug. I held her hand and kissed the back of it. "Are you in any pain?" I asked her in concern. She shook her head. "I'm so sorry Preeti...I wish...I wish I reached there on time....you would have had your eyesight by now if only..." I gritted my teeth thinking about the girl I once loved.

She squeezed my hand, "Don't apologise Ezhil...what was written in my fate was bound to happen...no one can control it but look...I'm sitting next to you alive" she smiled with a few tears. I sighed and played with her fingers. "I know who did this to you" I told her. "Who?" she asked. "Someone I know" I said with a blank tone. "What did you do?...did you send them to jail?" she asked with curiosity. "Don't worry about what I did Preeti.....I gave them the biggest punishment, something they will never forget in their entire life" I said darkly. "It was planned Preeti....they planned to kill you" I snapped.

Preeti gasped, "but why?" she asked in fear. "I don't know" I lied. "Then how do you know it was planned?" she asked. I looked at her with an emotionless face, "I saw it in the cameras". Preeti looked at the wall in fear. "Don't worry sis....I won't let anything happen to you now...your little brother will protect you from now on" I said with determination and hugged her again.

"Congrats Ezhi....how is she doing now?" Farhaan asked with happiness. I smiled and hugged him, "she is doing great. After she recovers, doctors will do the eye surgery on her" I smiled. "That's great....can't wait to meet her" Vicky said. I looked at Sunny who was lost in his thoughts. "Yeah let's do a small party for her shall we?" Sona suggested. "Yeah, let's do a welcome back party" Farhan agreed. "Where the hell is Sagar man?....he has gone missing all of a sudden" Farhan complained. I frowned. I totally forgot about him because of everything that has been happening. "I even tried calling him but he doesn't pick up my calls" Sona cut in. "Yeah he has been acting strange...very strange" Vicky added in.

"By the way where is Aliy-"

"Hi" Aliya suddenly said making my body stiff. She looked at everyone and them gave me a small smile but I quickly looked away. "Hey Aliya, where were you?...guess what Preeti woke up" Sona said with excitement. I felt Aliya's gaze on me as she moved closer. "That's great...I'm happy for you Ezhi" she said but her tone was very low.

"Hey is everything okay between you and Aliya?" Vicky suddenly asked in my ear. I looked at him with wide eyes and shook my head, laughing nervously. "What?...of course, everything is great between us" I laughed. He gave me a weird look but hence nodded his head making me sigh in relief. "Um..Ezhi can...can I please speak to you for a moment....alone" she spoke.

Everyone looked at me while I looked at Aliya with a blank face. I nodded my head and walked ahead of her to another room while she followed right behind me. I entered the room and turned around to face her. I was about to speak until she cut me off, "Look, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have kissed you first, I took advantage of your situation and I'm sorry for that" she looked down in guilt. I sighed and ran my hand through my hair. "I'm sorry too....I...I don't know what I was thinking then...I didn't mean to hurt you...can...can we just forget what happened?" I asked her.

I saw a flash of pain in her eyes but she quickly covered it with a smile. She nodded and looked away. We stood there in an awkward silence. I think after that kiss me and her will never be the same. "So...Preeti huh?...how is she doing?" she asked trying to break the awkwardness. "She is doing great....the doctors said she can leave in 2 days" I replied. She smiled and looked away again.

I cleared my throat, standing up straight. "The...the others are waiting for us...shall we?" I asked. She laughed nervously and nodded "Yeah...let's go" she said and turned as she left the room. I stayed there for a few seconds and sighed following her back to the room.

I was now unlocking my door with Preeti behind me. "It's so good to be back home" she took a deep breath. I smiled and held her hand. The room was dark so I turned the lights off. I bit my lip not wanting to laugh when I saw my friends waiting there to surprise Preeti. In 1...2...3 they all shouted, "WELCOME BACK PREETI" making her jump as she clinged to my arm. I laughed, wrapping my arm around her shoulders. "Oh my god you naughty kids...you scared me" she said playfully with a laugh.

"We missed you so much Preeti" Vicky said as they all hugged her one by one. "I missed you all too" she said looking happy. This is what I wanted....to see a smile on my sister....for her to always be happy. "I made a cake for you....let's cut it" Vicky said in a hurry while licking his lips, eyeing the cake with hunger. Sona slapped his head while he playfully glared at her. We all surrounded the cake and I helped Preeti cut the cake. I fed her first and helped her feed me. The rest of the group ate the cake like they haven't eaten cake in years.

"I missed this....all of you....thank you so much for doing this for me" she said emotionally. They all awed her, giving her kisses and hugs. We all started to talk and tease each other until the doors slammed open.

The wind howled and burst through the door-way, blowing our hair back as we stared at the person in front of us. Preeti gripped onto my hand while I just looked at the person in front of me who held so much anger in his eyes. He gripped onto a file in his hands as he glared at each and one of us, taking slow steps towards us.

'Where has he been all this time?' I thought to myself

"Sagar" Sunny whispered

"Looks like you are having a great time......without me huh?" he said emotionlessly making me shocked.
