"You're going to marry Mindy Summer."

With those six words, I thought my world stopped. I could feel Ace's body tense, and I knew right away he was mad. He was holding me tightly against him, trying to calm himself.

"What the fuck are you talking about?" Ace practically yelled, glaring at his father as he dipped his head in shame. "What did you do?"

"I cannot say," Mr King replied. "But you will marry Mindy. You have no choice. I've already signed the contract."

There was a dangerous aura coming from Ace, and I knew Mr King could feel it as well because he felt the room in a flash, closing the door behind him. Ace's grip tightened that I started to hurt. He loosed his grip when he heard my quiet whimper.

He sighed, and moved me so I was sitting on my bed beside him. He stood up, and I was about to asked him where he was going, but before I had a chance to utter a single word, he walked out of the room. Slamming the door behind him.

My heart sank at the suddenly mood, that he left me instead of talking to me, but I understood if he wanted to be alone.

He was going to marry someone he didn't even love. And it was Mindy. Of all people. it had to be Mindy. I hate that his father would do this, so I'm determined to find out why he did what he did.

I knew something happened when he was in Spain, and I was going to find out.

Ace wasn't at school the next morning. He didn't even answer my calls or text. Levi and Ben told me that he locked himself in one of their guest rooms when he got there. He hasn't come out since.

I kept looking at Mindy, and I heard that she was finally telling everyone the news since she kept bragging about how she was going to marry a billionaire and the bad boy everyone feared.

She would occasionally smirk my way, but she was too busy making her plans about what expensive things she wanted to buy.

"I hate girls like her," Ben commented, taking a fry from my tray, Before he could take another one, I slapped his hand away. He narrowed his eyes at me while I just stuck my tongue out at him.

"Don't we all," Levi added as he sat down with us. I don't understand why they're still here, but they said that they now transferred to ClearHills Academy.

Ace's orders, apparently.

They were with me almost all the time. Especially when I was around Jacob, but that stopped when he told us his secret.

"I'm gay."

All three of us started at him with wide eyes. He said that the reason he was flirting with me was because it was funny to piss Ace off.

He found it funny.

I don't know why he could find it funny when there was a possibility of Ace killing him.

When I arrived home, I recived a text from my dad that Mr King was not longer staying with us, and that he was back at his house. I didn't complain. I don't want to see him after yesterday.

I went upstairs, and took a quick shower before changing into a pair of shorts and an over-sized shirt. I walked over to my desk and started to do the pile of homework I still need to finish.

After a lot of frustration, and complaing about why math does not make sense, I opened my laptop, and I instantly saw articles about Mindy and Ace's arrange marriage.

I clicked on one, and it stated that Mr Summer and Mr King ageeded that their children will marry for the good of their compaines, to join them together.

But there has to be more than that.

Mr Summer owned a fairly small company, and if Mindy were to marry Ace, they would each have a share in each other's wealth, and their buisness ratings would be higher than before. But that was the benefits for Mr Summer.

What about Mr King? Or Ace? What do they get out of this agreement?

That's right, nothing. Mr King already owns a powerfull company, what more does he need?

I shut my laptop, not wanting to read anymore of the article.

I remember Mrs King yelling at someone on the phone that one day. Maybe that was Mr King. Maybe she knew about this, but didn't bother to tell Ace about it.

I placed my computer on my desk just as my phone started to ring. I picked it up and smiled when I saw it was Ace.

"Do you mind coming over at Levi and Ben's house?" Was the first thing he asked. Before I could answer, he spoke again. "Ben is already waiting outside."

Then he hung up.

Wow. Okay then.

I didn't bother to change, just tie my shirt up, and slipped on a pair of socks before I went downstairs. After I put my runners on, I texted my parents to tell them I was going to sleep over at Levi and Ben's house before I locked the door behind me. I saw Ben's car and got in.

When we arrived at their house, Ben led me upstairs to the room Ace was in. "Make sure you watch where you step," Ben warned me, and I looked at him, confused.

"You'll know why."

He walked away, and once he was out of sight, I opened the door. I gasped when I saw pieces of broke glass scattered on the floor. The whole room was a mess, like a tornado was just in here, and the only thing that serviced was the large bed Ace was sitting on.

His hands were covering his face, and when I closed the door, he didn't bother to look up. I guess he was too deep into his thoughts. I walked over to him - making sure to step over the broken glass - before grabbing his hands and pulling them away from his face.

He looked at me with a blank expression, and I frowned. I don't like seeing him in this kind of state.

I sat on the bed in front of him, before hugging him. His body tensed, before he instantly relaxed. He lifted me up, and hugged me back.

I was a bit embarrassed because I was straddling him, but that didn't matter at the moment.

He nuzzled his head in the crook in my neck, inhaling my scent. He pulled my closer to him, as humanly possible. I'm sure my face was as red as a tomato. We've been close, but usually never this close.

My feelings for Ace kept growing and growing. And because of this, I didn't want Ace to marry Mindy. Let alone anyone. I want him to be the one I marry one day. I can't imagine him being with someone else. I get jealous when I see other girls flirt with him, or even get near him.

But I never show it. I'm not allowed to have these feelings. I'm his best friend. Not his girlfriend. He only sees me as a sister.

If he sees you only as a sister, why is he holding you like this? A voice said in the back of my mind.

I bit my lip, and grip his shoulders, trying to push him away, but to no avail. He kept tightening his grip, not letting me go.

"Ace. Let me go." I said. He didn't listen, and just kept holding me. "Ace, seriously."

Finally, he pulled away, but I was still in his arms. He looked at me, his eyes flashed with an emotion I've never seen before, and the next thing I know was him crashing his lips on mine.
