《She Belongs To The King | ✓》CHAPTER EIGHT

- Mia White -
Half an hour later, the door finally swings open. At first, I tried telling them to let me go, but they didn't let me. I was practically freaking out, and just wanted to go home. I knew that Ben and Levi would never hurt me, but I was still scared.
From time to time, Ben would come up and check on me. He promised me that I would see Ace soon, but I just had to wait until they were done whatever they were doing.
So for the whole time, I just laid on the bed, trying to get some sleep, Unlike last time, I actually managed to close my eyes. It was only a short nap, but it helped me stay up a bit longer. So when the door opened, I practically jumped out of bed.
Ben walked in with a small smile on his face as he closed the door behind him. "You have a lot of questions, don't you?" he said, and chuckled when I glared at him. There were so many unanswered questions that I needed to know.
Especially if it was about Ace.
"Did he get into another fight?" I asked.
"You can say that," he replied. "And it's pretty bad," he added, knowing I was going to say how bad the injuries were.
"We didn't want you to find out because he didn't want you to worry about him. But I guess that plan failed."
"And it's your fault," I heard Levi comment as he walked into the room. "If you just lied to her saying that he was staying over, she wouldn't be here right now."
"I still would've found out anyway," I muttered, and they laughed. Ace would've told me either way, even if he tried hiding it from me. Like I said, he never keeps secrets from me.
Levi, Ben, and I went downstairs as they led me into another hallway. One of the doors were slightly open, the light from inside the room lit the dark hallway just a little. Levi said that Ace was in here, and that he and Ben would leave to give us some privacy.
When they walked away, I just stood there. What if I saw something I didn't like? I took a sharp breath, and slowly opened the door.
Ace was laying on the bed with his eyes closed. I tried not to blush when I noticed that he didn't have his shirt on. Now is not the time, Mia!

I closed the door, and when I shut it, he must've snapped out of his thoughts because his head turned to face me. I gasped when I saw a cut on from just below his eyes to his chin, and it looked like a knife was what caused the damage.
There were more that covered his chest, as well as dark bruises. His hands were covered in dry blood, and his knuckles looked scratched, as if he's been punching the wall over and over again.
Ace eyes looked empty, but when he saw me, a small smile made its way across his face. He looked happy to see me.
I walked over to him, and sat down on the chair that was beside the bed. The whole room made the illusion that we were in a hospital, but Levi mentioned when we walked here, that they had a personal doctor.
"Ace," I breathed.
"I'm sorry," he suddenly apologized, making me give him a look of confusion. "You couldn't go to sleep because you were worried about me."
I shook my head. "You don't have to apologize. I'm perfectly fine staying awake all night. I just needed to know that you're okay. But didn't I tell you to stop fighting? You're always trying to find trouble, aren't you?"
Ace grinned. "I don't go looking for trouble, Mia. Trouble finds me."
Did he really just quote Harry Potter?
He slowly started to sit up with me at his side helping him until he rested his back on the headboard. I was going to sit back down on the chair when he told me to sit beside him. I protested, saying that he was still hurt and needed the whole bed, but he insisted.
We had a bit of a small argument when in the end, he won, and now I was sitting beside him. He gave me a kiss on my forehead, but I just glared at him.
"You're cute when you're mad," he cooed.
"Shut up," I muttered, and he chuckled, but his face cringed and he held his stomach. I started to panic a bit and asked if he was okay. He said that he was fine but I wasn't convinced.
"I'll get Levi," I told him an got up but a hand grabbed my wrist, pulling me back.
"Please don't leave me," he said, his voice cracking a bit. "I don't want you to go."

"I'm not going anywhere, Ace. Just let me call Levi." But he shook his head, looking at me with desperate eyes. Giving in, I sighed and sat down beside him. I just decided to text Levi.
Almost immediately, Levi and Ben walked in with worried faces.
Ace said he was fine, but like me, they weren't convinced. Ben said that he was going to get the doctor, also known as Matthew.
"Guys, I'm fine. Really," he tried to convince us, but I shook my head.
"If you don't let the doctor check you again, I'll leave and won't come back." His eyes widened as he looked for any sign of me bluffing, and when he didn't find any, panic flashed through his eyes.
"Okay! Okay! I'll let him check me." He grabbed my hands and pulled me into a hug. I was careful not to put too much pressure on his chest as he nuzzled his head in the crook of my neck. "Just don't leave me..."
"Awww."
We all looked at Ben who had both his hands on his cheeks. He looked at us, embarrassed as he scratched the back of his head. "I ruined the moment, didn't I?"
Levi rolled his eyes while I chuckled. I felt Ace smiled just as Matthew walked into the room, but Ace made no effort to pull away. I pushed Ace back, and he frowned as the doctor examined him. Ace just kept staring at me, ignoring the fact that the doctor was holding his arm and checking the cuts that were not stitched up.
I didn't want to bother the doctor and his work, so I somehow managed to remove myself from the bed. Ace's frown deepened as he looked at me with puppy eyes. He looked like a little kid reaching for candy.
Sometimes when I see him like this, it's hard to believe that he's this bad boy that gets into trouble all the time and never follows the rules.
"He's so clingy," Ben whispered in my ear, making me giggle.
When the doctor said that Ace was alright, I sighed in relief. Matthew said that he should be out of bed after a week or two, depending on how fast he heals.
"I should get going," I told them, and I looked to see Ace shaking his head, insisting that I stay here.
"You said you wouldn't leave me," he frowned.
In the end, I stayed with Ace, and texted my mom that I was at Levi and Ben's house. She knew who they were, so she replied saying that it was okay before saying goodnight.
I have to leave early tomorrow since it was still school, but knowing Ace, he would tell me to skip and spend the day with him. As much as I'd love to do that, I still have to go or else my mom would kill me. School and my education was very important to her and my dad.
I had to work hard for my parents because they have high expectations for me. They were both one of the smartest students during their school days, and since I'm their daughter, they expect me to be the same. Even their friends think so.
Because of this, I was always put under pressure. I was scared that they'd be disappointed in me if I got anything below ninety.
I was stressed about almost everything, but eventually, I learned how too stay calm when a big test was coming up, or if there was a ton of homework to complete. It was easy to finish since almost every day, I would review my notes.
Ace helped me a lot as well. He always did. Whenever I was stressed or feeling down, he would always be there to cheer me up. He knows how to make me smile, to make me laugh.
He even bought me a new set of my favourite plates when I accidentally broke my old one. Even though I told him to return it because it wasn't a big deal, he didn't listen. I still have them
"You sleepy?" I heard Ace whispered as my eyes started to close. I nodded, and after a few moments, I felt his arms wrap around my waist, pulling me further into his chest.
"I'm okay," he said, knowing I was going to tell him to let go because of his injuries. As the seconds passed, I started to drift off into sleep.
