I didn't like him the first time we encountered, and now, I hate him. All I wanted to do was get out of my chair and beat the shit out of him when he kept glancing at Mia.

I know he's new and doesn't know the rules, but he should know that Mia is off-limits. I've made sure everyone knew who she was taken by, and people should've told him by now who the person was.

Mia is under the influence that I think of her as a little sister, but to me, she's much more than that. I know I should tell her how I feel, but I want her to realize that I like her too.

She's oblivious when it comes to romance outside of the novels she reads. She reads so much romance novels that she can't tell if someone is being friendly to her, or flirting with her.

And I fucking hate how guys take advantage of that. I've had to punch a few guys because of how oblivious she is.

But somehow, I find it cute.

I liked everything about her. Every single flaw she saw, I saw perfection. I don't understand why she always doubted the way she looked or how she compared herself to others. She's already the perfect the way she is, and the most beautiful person that anyone will meet. She's everything to me, and I don't want anyone to take her away from me.

She's mine, and I don't like sharing. I've always hated sharing, even as a kid.

So when school ended, I made sure that Jacob didn't approach Mia. I dragged her outside of the school before he had a chance.

That fucker better know the rules I set upon the school tomorrow, or else there will be consequences for him.

Mia asked what was wrong, but like always, I lied and said it was nothing. She knew I was lying but never asked further questions since almost everything annoys me. Mia understands me like no one ever has.

Throughout the years, she learned how to handle my stubbornness, the bad attitude I still have, and most importantly, the short temper problem I've always had. I get pissed off easily, but somehow, Mia always manages to calm me down before I break something.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Mia's phone started to ring. Taking it, she brought it to her ear before pulling it away as if it just shocked her.

"MIA! YOU HAVE GOT TO COME OVER TO MY HOUSE RIGHT NOW! I HAVE GREAT NEWS!"

"Turn off the speaker," I said, keeping my eyes on the road.

"It's not on speaker..."

There was a moment of silence before we both started to laugh.

"SHUT UP AND JUST COME TO MY HOUSE!" Sarah yelled before the call ended. Mia looked at me with a sad smile. Damn, all I wanted was to go home. But no, the world just had to be against me today.

When we arrived, Sarah was already running out the front door. Before Mia could say anything, her door opened before Sarah grabbed her arm.

"I'm gonna borrow your girlfriend for a second! It won't take too long!

Sarah pulled her out of the car and dragged her into the house before the door was slammed behind them.

Well, alright then.

As I waited for Mia and Sarah to finish whatever girl shit they needed to sort out, I check my social media for anything interesting to watch or see.

I don't normally go on my phone because spending time with Mia is way better verses staring at a screen for hours. I probably sound like a complete psycho when I say that, but don't care.

Although, I do admit I spend way too much time with her, and I should probably give her some space.

When Mia and I grew older, I felt territorial when it came to her. I didn't like it when other guys - besides me, her father, and teacher - talked to her.

I would make sure she didn't have too much male interaction. Mia was annoyed that I didn't let her talk to any of the guys in the class, even if it was for a group assignment.

The only way she made me stop - or at least let her talk to a few guys - was when she threatened she'd transfer to a new school.

If she did that, I wouldn't be able to transfer to the school she went to since my father wanted me to graduate where he graduated, which was ClearHills Academy.

Normally, I wouldn't care what he told me to do, but he said that he wouldn't pass over his company over to me if I failed to graduate here.

Anyways, back to the matter of hand. I started to grow impatient, so I got out of the car and made my way to the front door before knocking.

When the door opened, Mia was blushing like crazy while Sarah just had a wicked smirk on her face. I was going to ask what they were talking about to have Mia blush so hard, but before I did, Mia ran to the car.

"She'll be fine. Just told her a few things that may have embarrassed her," Sarah winked.

When I got inside the car, Mia was fiddling with a strand of her hair. and biting her bottom lip nervously. "Don't ask. Just drive," she ordered, knowing I was eager to ask what was wrong.

Arriving at her place, I walked Mia to the door as per usual. I always walked slower so I could at least have a bit more time with her before I had to go home.

Reaching her front door, Mia gave me that million dollar smile of hers that I fell in love with. If anyone asked why I loved the girl standing in front of me, it would take days. But I wouldn't tell anyone. I don't want anyone else to fall in like be with her

"Thanks for dropping me off," Mia said.

I smiled. "You never have to thank me."

I drove back home after Mia walked into her house. My father was In Spain for a business trip, so it was just me and my mom in the house.

When Mia would come over to my house, I would share everything with her. My mother and father, along with their relatives, were perplexed since I hate sharing anything with anyone.

They would stare at Mia and I when they saw how gentle I was towards her. Father would insist that Mia came over more often because when she left, I would go back to my normal, spoiled self.

Eventually, I arrived back home. I unlocked the door and went upstairs to take a quick shower. When I got out of the bathroom, I heard my mom yell from downstairs to wear something nice.

Great. There's going to be company.

I sighed, and pulled out a nice set of clothes which was literally a pair of dark jeans and a black tee. Once I was dressed, I went downstairs and looked for my mom to see her in the kitchen, setting up the table.

I inwardly groaned knowing that we're going to have dinner with whoever the fuck is coming. Being the nice person that I am, I decided to help my mom set everything up. It's either I help and she's happy, or I get another lecture about how I should help out more.

"Ace, do you remember the people I told you about when I went to New York?" Mother said as she placed the large plate of spaghetti on the table.

"Sure," I answered, showing no interest in this conversation.

"Well, they needed a place to stay for a while, so I've decided to let them live with us until they find a place to stay. They also have a son that's around your age. Maybe you can be friends."

As if

The only friends I have are Ben and Levi. Mia's my best friend, but like I said before, she's much more than that to me so that doesn't count.

Before my mother could say anything else, the doorbell rang, causing her eyes to light up with excitement.

"Take a seat. I'll go open the door," she ordered, knowing that I planned to sneak off to my room. Even though my mother and I don't get along so well, I'd do anything to see her happy. She's the reason why Mia is in my life. She's also spent years dealing with the spoiled attitude, so I kind of owe her.

I took out my phone and started to text Mia. She was probably reading or doing homework - because the teachers at our school are shit and give people work on the first day - so texting her would most likely annoy her.

I like to annoy her sometimes.

"Ace, I want you to meet Andrew and Jane," mother introduced. I looked up to give them a small nod when my eyes widened at the person who was standing beside my mother.

"And this is their son, Jacob."

My eyes slightly narrowed towards Jacob, and I felt rage running through my veins. I did not want this dude living in the same house as me. As for Jacob, he had a stupid smirk on his face.

This fucker is going to get himself killed if he keeps this up.
