《Come Back To Me, Kiwi.》Chapter 70 - Business and Moving

It had been a week since Kiara and I returned from our amazing honeymoon. If it was up to us we never would've left. It was just amazing. I was in the office finalizing some sketches for some buildings and waiting for Kiara so we could head to the apartment and finish packing.

"Hey, bro! Where's Kiara?" Mabel asked, rushing into Kiara and I's office.

"Oh, she's out with Ari seeing a home for an interior design consult." I said.

"Oh, alright. You two are coming to the family dinner tonight, right?" She asked me.

"Uhm... I think so, but we'll just be a little late." I told Mabel.

"Oh, how come?" She asked.

"Oh we're just in the middle of packing right now. We have a lot to do if we actually want to move by next week." I explained.

"Alright. Well, if you need help, Theo and I are available. Let me know if you'd like that." She said.

"Sounds good. I'll see you tonight." I said to her.

"See you!" She chirped, running off with a smile.

Kiara arrived soon after I finished looking over the sketches and checking them for anything out of the ordinary. Then, I sent them off to our engineer so he could look them over and do all the math. I'd done enough math in my lifetime during college. I didn't need to do any more for the rest of my life.

"Well hello, handsome." I heard Kiara's soft voice from the doorway. I looked up and saw my wife wink at me.

"There's my beautiful wife." I smiled, holding a hand out for her.

She shut the door and locked it, shuffling over to me and wrapping her arms around me, connecting our lips.

"How was the consult?" I asked her as soon as I pulled away.

"Really good! It was such a pretty home!" Kiara smiled.

"Ready to go home?" I asked her.

"No. I have to send a few emails." Kiara smiled.

"Alright. Hurry." I said to her, kissing her cheek gently.

My phone started ringing and I picked up.

"Hello?" I asked, putting my phone to my ear.

"Mr. Ferrari. There's a man who would like to meet with you about an upcoming project." The receptionist said as Kiara took a seat at her desk.

"Oh, alright. Yes. Let him in." I said, knowing I could probably have a quick meeting before Kiara finished her emails.

"Meeting?" She asked me.

"Yeah." I nodded.

"Alright." She smiled, putting her headphone in so she could continue her work in peace.

The client came in and he sat down. He wanted to partner with our business for architecture, interior design and landscaping on his new hotel branch. I went over the formalities, I set up a meeting with him for architecture since there needed to be a building on the land before we could do any landscaping around it or any interior design.

Kiara finished her work before my meeting ended. So she sat back in her chair and watched me. She seemed to enjoy watching her businessman of a husband. Truth was, I never really liked people and interacting with them. Until Kiara came into my life and I changed quite a bit while needing to take care of her. Now I didn't mind all these meetings with clients. I was more social.

Once the meeting was over, the client left me and Kiara alone with each other.

"Well hello, Mr. Businessman!" She giggled, walking over to me and wrapping her arms around me.

I groaned and relaxed against the chair, pulling her into my lap.

She kissed my forehead and played with my hair, making me close my eyes and hum in delight.

"Are you tired, baby?" She asked me.

"Very." I said.

"We can go home and nap for a bit." She said to me.

"No, we've got to pack more." I insisted.

"Alright. But you could take a nap, Love. I can do the packing." She said to me.

"No. I'm folding everything, Kiara. Don't even try." I said.

"I told you, folding clothes doesn't scare me anymore." She insisted.

"I know. But to make me more comfortable, let me do it." I told her.

"Fine." She nodded, kissing my cheek.

I never wanted to see another panic attack. I obviously was going to have to at some point. But I would do everything in my hands to prevent it. The last time it happened, some brainless idiot hit on her and she came running into the office in tears and collapsed in my arms, her breathing was far too quick and she sort of blacked out on me. I just thank God every day that she hasn't had one in my absence.

We headed home and we started packing. I let Kiara pack the kitchen stuff and take down the curtains and stuff. I just didn't want her folding things. We got through most of our stuff and had it all in boxes and suitcases.

We both started getting calls and texts from the family asking why we were so late. We explained and decided to just finish this once and for all. We finished all the packing, and we ended up missing the dinner but at least we got all our stuff packed.

Once we were done, I looked over at my girl to see her sigh loudly, looking around at the apartment we grew in together. Our first real home together. Truth be told, I could never sell this place. Kiara thought I would, but I just couldn't. I owned this apartment and I would keep it forever.

"Don't be sad, baby. We have a beautiful place down on the island waiting for us." I said, walking over and hugging her, kissing her forehead.

"Last dance?" She asked me.

"Sure thing, baby." I smiled, and she put an upbeat, happy song on and she took my hand and lead me to the middle of the living room.

I watched her dance her heart out with a smile on her face and I could only try and keep up, only to fail miserably.

"Come on, Vivi! Dance! Dance for our happy life together! For new beginnings and moving on from the past." She said.

I smiled and grabbed her, spinning her around and making the dance a little more intimate. I had no idea where this girl learned how to dance like this. But it was hot as hell and I lived for every second of it.

We were both sad leaving the house, but the house on the island was our dream home. It was perfect for us. At least for now. Maybe when we eventually had kids I could expand the little cottage a little bit. We'd need a little more space for our little one.

"Ready, Wifey?" I asked her, after we'd packed everything to be taken to the Island.

"I'm ready for anything, as long as you're by my side." She giggled.

I leaned down and kissed those inviting lips of hers.

And off we were, leaving behind our first home and heading to our new one. We were able to get the boxes over to the island in only two flights and then we crashed on the couch in the villa. We weren't even able to get ourselves to a bed or to our cottage. The couch in the villa was the closest place for us.

The next morning, we put all our clothes away and we kept some of our other stuff and gave the rest to everyone else. Whatever they didn't want, we donated.

As we moved everything into this new house, Kiara got super emotional. She started crying her heart out.

"Hey, hey, baby, what's going on?" I asked her.

"It's not right... this stuff doesn't fit with this place." She sobbed.

"Alright. Alright, Kiwi. We'll change this stuff." I said softly.

"I'm tired." She cried.

"Come here." I said softly, picking her up and placing her in bed.

"I miss the apartment... do we have to get rid of it?" She asked me.

"No. We're keeping it. I don't want to get rid of that amazing apartment. Our first home. This family is only growing and I'm sure someone can find a use for it in the family. Maybe when we have kids and we need to move to the city so they can go to school, we can move back there." I told her.

She nodded, cuddling into me in bed and calming herself down.

"I love you, Kiara." I smiled, kissing her head and playing with her hair.

"I love you, Vivi." She smiled, kissing me gently.

"You ok now?" I asked her.

"Mhm... I was just a little stressed for a second." She said, smiling at me.

"Alright. Let's go see everyone. I think they're probably on the beach, we can handle this later." I said.

I could tell Kiara's mood was a little unstable. I just wanted her to have some fun for a while. We had been through quite a bit with the moving process. But all was well now. We were home. On Angel's Island. With our family. And most importantly, we had each other. Always.
