《Come Back To Me, Kiwi.》Chapter 40 - Breaks and Twin Bakers

After Kiara met Arabella, Micah, Mila and Mia, she decided to take a short break from meeting people. At least meeting anyone new. She woke me up this morning and said I had to get up because Arabella was dropping the twins off.

Now I was answering the door without a shirt on because Arabella was early.

"Vee!" One of the twins screeched as soon as I opened the door, it was Mila.

Mia on the other hand was crying her heart out, and Arabella had tears in her eyes.

Kiara came rushing to the door and she let Ari in.

"What's going on?" I asked the girls.

"Nothing, just take the girls." Kiara said.

"Come here, Mimi. Let's go get some candy." I said to the crying child, kissing my crying cousin on the forehead before taking her daughters away so she could talk to my kiwi.

"Come on, come sit down." Kiara said, pulling Arabella to the couch.

"Thanks for agreeing to watch them, I'm just tired." Ari said.

"Why're you upset, did something happen?" I asked.

"No. I'm just upset." She cried. "I just need a break."

"Take a break then. I've got the girls... is Micah at work?" I asked.

"Yeah." She said, nodding her head.

"Did you call him?" I asked her.

"No." She cried.

"Call him, Ari. You need to tell him when you're upset." I said.

"I know but he doesn't like being interrupted and I don't want to bother him." She said.

"I know. But I'm sure that if you're upset, he'd rather be interrupted than unaware. So call him." I told her.

"Come. We'll call him together." Kiara said, pulling Arabella onto the couch and sitting beside her.

Kiara took Arabella's phone and she called Micah.

"Hey, Sparkle, what's going on? I have a meeting in five minutes, baby." Micah's voice rang through the phone off the speaker.

"I don't know." She said, her voice shaking.

"Arabella, what happened, baby?" He asked, sounding more accepting of this call now that he heard his wife's distressed voice.

"Nothing happened." She said to him.

"Why are you crying then?" He asked her.

"I just feel off." She cried.

"Why?" He asked her.

"I don't know. I'm upset for no reason." She said.

"Where are you right now, Mini?" He asked.

"I'm with Kiara." She said.

"Alright. Is Vidal there?" Micah asked.

"I'm here." I said.

"Good. Stay there, baby. I'll be there right after this meeting. The girls are with you, right? Or did you drop them off at your Aunt Em's place?" He asked her.

"They're here." She answered.

"They're all good, Bro. I've got the girls. I just wanted her to call you and let you know she was upset." I told him.

"Good. Thank you, Bro. I'll be there as soon as I can." Micah said. "I think you need some sleep, baby. Try and get some, I'm sure Kiara and Vidal can handle the girls."

"Ok." Ari said, pouting at her phone.

I think that her and Micah needed some time alone. She seemed to miss him since he did work a lot. But that was just Micah, he liked to keep himself busy.

The crying toddler in my arms started screeching and started pushing me in an attempt to leave my arms.

"Hey, hey. Mimi! Look, I got you a tasty candy." I said, distracting her with a candy.

She snatched it from my hands and started examining it carefully as she hiccupped.

"Me too?" Mila asked me.

I gave her a candy too and watched her unwrap it happily and put it in her mouth.

"Mimi, it good." Mila told her sister.

Mia was not in the mood for any happiness at the moment.

"You ok?" Kiara asked Arabella as I tried to get Mia to calm down and be happy with the candy I was offering.

"I'm alright.... just tired and I just feel like everything sucks." Arabella cried.

"Aw, it's ok, come here." Kiwi said, hugging Arabella.

"I'm tired." Arabella said.

"Let's go get some rest." Kiara said, taking Arabella's hand and leading her to our bedroom.

Mia was temporarily pacified by the candy I'd given her and now she was just hugging me and hiccuping. I didn't know if Kiara was that comfortable with Arabella. To the point that she'd want to be in a room alone with her. I walked over to the bedroom door and saw them lying face to face in the bed. Arabella was stroking Kiara's hair and they were talking to each other in hushed voices.

Kiara giggled and they continued talking. It was one of the best sights I could possibly have seen. My girl was happy and she had someone she saw as a sister and could talk to about anything.

"Alright, my little monkeys... what're we going to do?" I asked the girls.

"Make Momma cookies." Mila cheered.

"So she no cry." Mia added.

"Momma's ok, Princess." I said, kissing my niece's soft and chubby cheek.

"Love you, Vee." Mia said, resting her head on my shoulder.

"Aw, I love you so, so, so much!" I said, kissing her all over her little face. "And Mili too, I love you so, so, so much!"

The girls started giggling as I showered them with kisses.

"We makes cookies?" Mila asked.

"Of course, Cutie. Let's make some cookies." I said, kissing her forehead one last time.

I set both girls down on the kitchen counter and grabbed a bowl and a wooden spoon.

"Alright.... what do we need for this?" I asked.

"Da flour!" Mia said softly.

"Right, flour.... flour.... flour... where do we keep the flour?" I asked, turning around in several circles trying to think where Kiara kept the flour in this kitchen.

A few minutes later, Kiwi emerged from the bedroom and quietly shut the door behind her.

"What happened?" I asked.

"She's sleeping." Kiara said.

"Mommy takes nap." Mia said softly.

"Yeah we have to be extra quiet." I nodded.

"What're you guys up to?" Kiara asked.

"Cookies for Momma." Mila giggled.

""Yummy. Are we making chocolate chip cookies?" She asked them.

"The enememen ones!" Mila cheered.

"MnMs?" Kiara asked.

"Yes, ememenens." Miki tried repeating.

"M and M.... can you say that?" Kiara asked Mila.

"M.... and M." Mila said.

"Yeah, now say it faster." Kiara said.

"Emenemen." Mila said quickly.

"Close!" Kiara laughed, kissing Mila on the cheek and then running her fingers through Mia's hair.

"You ok, Cutie?" She asked Mia.

"Pwetty." Mia said, hugging Kiara with tears in her eyes.

"Aw, Baby. What's wrong?" She asked Mia.

"Momma sad." Mia said.

"Momma happy with cookies!" Mila said, trying to cheer her sister up.

"That's right. Once we make her cookies, she'll probably be happy." Kiara said. "You wanna help me make some delicious cookies for Momma?"

"Mhm.... with Fawer." Mia said.

"With flour?" Kiara giggled.

"Yes." Mia nodded.

"Ok, and who's going to be my mixer?" She asked the girls.

"I mix!" Mila cheered.

"Indoor voice, Mili. You can mix... what about Mimi, what do you want to do?" Kiara asked.

"I no know." Mimi said, shrugging sadly.

"How about you be my special helper, baby?" Kiara asked, putting her hand over Mia's forehead.

"Ok." Mia nodded.

"First we're gonna put the butter, and the sugar." Kiara instructed, handing a cup to Mia.

I watched from afar as Kiara proved without a doubt that she would be the best mother this world had ever seen. She was so patient with the girls, she let them take their time and do things. She didn't offer help either. The girls struggled with certain parts of the baking process and Kiara stood back patiently and encouraged them until they achieved it.

Then they made the cookie dough into balls and my little perfectionist moved the cookies slightly because she couldn't stand how messily the girls organized the tray.

Then she put them into the oven and I watched her carry both girls to the couch and she set them down beside her. Mia started playing with Kiara's hair as she sat on her lap and calmly rested against her. Meanwhile, Mila was blabbering on about how Daddy wouldn't let her sleep with him and Momma at night and it wasn't fair at all because she could've had nightmares.

I just couldn't believe how heartwarming it was to see Kiara with my nieces. I officially wanted a child of my own with Kiara now. I thought that was a girl thing though. They saw their man with a child and started wanting a child of their own. I didn't know this happened to men too until I saw Kiara and my nieces together. They were absolutely adorable.

When the cookies were ready, Kiara pulled them out of the oven and the girls listened to her and stood back as she did so. I watched her carefully remove the cookies from the baking pan and place them on the counter to cool faster so the girls could each have one.

Once they had cooked enough, Kiara sat them down on the counter and she handed each of them a cookie, kissing their chubby little cheeks.

"Momma has one?" Mimi asked.

"Once Momma wakes up from her nap, we can give her a cookie." Kiara smiled.

That's when there was a knock at the door. I opened it and saw a distressed Micah standing in front of me.

"Are they ok? What happened? Why is she upset?" Micah asked me.

"Relax, she's asleep. Everyone is ok." I told him.

"What about the girls? Did they behave?" Be asked, stepping in so I could shut the door behind him.

"They did." I said, letting him enter and go find his daughters eating cookies. He scooped them both up and he kissed them both repeatedly.

"How are my girls?" He asked them.

"Dada! We mades cookies!" Mila said, showing him the cookie in her hand.

"You made them? Or did Auntie Kiara make them?" He asked his daughters.

"We helps her." Mila told him.

"Did you?" He chuckled.

"Yeah! You want cookie?!" Mila asked him.

"Of course... let's see if my girls are good bakers." He said.

Kira smiled and got up to get him a cookie. She returned with a plate full of cookies and handed him one.

When she handed him the cookie he smiled, seeming very appreciative of how Kiara treated the girls.

"Thanks, Kiara. I appreciate you spending time with them and taking care of them. They seem really proud about these cookies." He smiled.

"They really worked hard on them." Kiara laughed.

"Thank you." He said sincerely.

"No need to thank me. It was really fun." She smiled.

Micah took a bite out of the cookie and he looked down at his daughters.

"Wow! I have two little bakers and I didn't even know about it!" He said excitedly.

"Yummy, Daddy?" Mia asked him.

"Very, very yummy." He told her.

"Hey, Kiara. Do you know why Arabella was upset?" Micah asked her.

"I think she's just tired and she misses you." Kiara explained.

"She misses me?" He asked.

"Yeah. She mentioned that you work a lot. She said that she didn't mind, but it gets hard taking care of the girls alone." Kiara explained.

"Oh." Micah said, guilt filling all of his features.

"Hey. Don't feel bad. You're working hard to give her the life she wanted. Aren't you?" Kiara asked.

"How did you know that?" Micah laughed.

"I know a lot more than you think. Arabella and I are close. She doesn't want you not to work. That isn't the solution at all. She just wishes that you had a little more time with her, you know?" Kiwi explained.

"Yeah. It's hard to spend time with each other." Micah said.

"Why?" Kiara asked.

"Because of the girls." He said.

"Then bring the girls here. I'd be more than happy to babysit whenever you guys need me to." Kiara told him.

"Are you sure?" He asked.

"Yeah. Of course." She told him.

"It just feels wrong though. They're our kids. Like when you have kids, your life should be about them, not yourself." He explained.

"That's not true. Your relationship and happiness is so important. If your life is about your kids, you need to be happy and your relationship has to be strong and happy. Otherwise you can't be as good of a parent to your kids, am I right?" Kiara asked.

"Of course." He nodded.

"Then it's ok to drop the girls off with me and Vivi and let them have some fun over here, while you two spend some quality time together. Ok?" Kiara said.

"Ok." Micah smiled.

"Then when I have kids, you better watch them for me so I can spend time with my redhead over there." She said, pointing to me.

This made a smile spread across my face. She was making it blatantly obvious that I was the one she wanted to be with. She wanted me as her husband and the father of her children.

"Of course." He smiled, giving Kiara a side hug which she returned.

"Dada!" Mia said, grabbing his face so that he poured all his attention onto her.

"Yes, my little munchkin?" He asked, kissing her irresistible cheeks.

"Momma was sad." She said, pouting.

"I know, baby. But I think after her nap, she'll be all better." He told his daughter.

"Kiara!" I heard Arabella call out from the bedroom.

"Let me go." Micah said.

"Absolutely not. No." I said, knowing that these two would definitely not control themselves.

"I won't do anything." He chuckled.

"Sure you won't. Sit down." I said.

Kiara turned red, probably wondering how we so openly addressed these things and she ran off to talk to Arabella. When she came back, she came back with my sleepy cousin, who immediately walked towards her husband.

"Hi, Miki." She said, resting against him.

"Hey, Mini. You ok?" He asked her.

"I'm ok." She nodded, rubbing her fingers through his hair.

"Will you go on a date with me tonight?" Micah asked his wife.

"B-but... the girls...." Arabella said.

"The girls will be with me." Kiara said.

"No, you don't have to do that, Kiara." Arabella said, shaking her head.

"I want to. Just go have fun, Ari. You know your kids will be alright over here." Kiara said.

"Ok. I'll do on a date with you, Miki." Ari said, resting against her husband as Mia climbed into her lap.

"Hi, Sweetie." Arabella smiled.

"Momma. We mades cookies." Mia said.

"Really?" Arabella smiled.

"For you, Momma." Mila said, grabbing a cookie from the coffee table in front of us and handing it to her mother.

Kiara tasted the cookie and smiled.

"Wow, My Loves. Thank you!" Arabella said, hugging and kissing both her daughters.

That night, Micah and Arabella went off on their date. And I told them to leave the girls with us and pick them up in the morning. Based on Mila's story about not being allowed to sleep in her parents' bed, those two needed some alone time.

Mila and Mia slept with Kiara and I though. Somehow, Kiara slept peacefully while I had little feet kicking me in all sorts of places throughout the night. I woke up with my arm around Kiara, as she rested against my chest, with a weight on my abdomen and something tickling my feet.

One of the twins was down by my feet, tickling them and the other was on my abdomen, prying my eyes open.

"Girls. Stop." I said, removing the girl off my body and turning to spoon Kiara.

It woke Kiara up though and she looked around and giggled at the two troublemakers jumping up and down on the bed and jumping over us.

"Who wants some breakfast?" Kiara asked, her voice still sleepy.

"Me!" Both girls screeched.

"No screaming." I scolded weakly.

"Let's leave Uncle Vivi to sleep some more." Kiara giggled.

My mind had changed about having children. I just wanted my kiwi. That's it. I didn't need little feet kicking me in the middle of the night, or early morning screeching when I wanted to cuddle my girl and sleep in.

I was happy with just Kiara for a little while.
