《Cuore Mio》Chapter Twenty Two - Date

I was having dessert with Dante now. When the waiter came with the bill, Dante took it and read it, hiding out from me. When he place it out on the table, I peeked a little and saw the price.
Sticking my hand into my handbag, I tried searching for my purse to pay, but I didn't find it.
My heart paced faster. Where is it ? Did I lose it ?
That's when Dante looked at me. "Are you looking for this ?" He said, holding my purse in his hands.
"How. Do. You. Have. That." I asked, accentuating my words.
"Well..uh...hehe" Dante laughed, nervously.
"You see, when you went to the washroom, I kinda took it." He explained.
"Why ? So I couldn't pay ?" I questioned him.
"Well, I knew that you weren't going to let me. So, I took it." He said, shrugging.
"Okaayy....well... give it back now." I said, reaching my hand out for the purse.
"No. I haven't paid yet." He said, pulling the purse towards him.
"No. Give it." I argued.
He gave money to the waiter near the table and said, "Keep the change."
He stood up and walked a little before turning to me, to where I was still sitting.
"Aren't you going to come ?" He asked.
"No. I'm not. I will not leave until I pay with my own money." I said, folding my arms across my chest.
Walking towards the table, he whispered, "You're making a scene, Azalea. Come on."
"Give me the purse. Then, I will leave."
"You can pay me back later, come on."
Narrowing my eyes at him, I said, "Purse. Now."
Mirroring my actions he says, "Purse. Later."
I was getting frustrated now, and if he didn't give me the purse now, I would actually punch him.
By now, everyone in the restaurant was looking at us.
"Is that your final decision ?" Dante asks.

I don't answer him and just look at him.
"Fine then, you asked for it." Dante shrugged.
He took my purse that was on my lap and before I knew it, I was on his shoulder.
His hands were around my thighs, my face towards his back. And literally, everybody in front of us has a view of my butt.
This motherducker actually carried me."Put me down, Dante" I warned.
Now we were on the street, walking, well, in my case, being carried to the car. I balled my fists and started punching his back, hard.
He tried baring the pain for a while but then gave up.
"Stop that, Stellina." Dante groaned.
"No, I will not stop. Only if you put me down, I will. And now is not the time to call me a meatball !" I argued.
He chuckled and said, "You asked for it."
The last time he said that, he carried me. Well, I don't have to worry. There's nothing he would do to hurt -
My thoughts were interrupted by the sudden jerk of my body. Dante had left the grip he had on me for a split second and then held it again.
"What if I would have fallen ?" I shouted.
"You wouldn't fall. Even if you did, I would pick you up." Dante said. Although I couldn't see his face, I bet there was that smirk on his face.
"Here we are...." Dante said after awhile.
He put me in passenger seat of the car and walked around the car to sit on the driver's side.
When he started the ignition, he gave my purse back. Dante looked at me and asked, "Are you ready to go ?"
"You didn't ask for my permission when you picked up like a sack of potatoes a few minutes back !" I snapped at him.
"Oops ?"
I looked straight into his eyes and narrowed mine, making him do the same.

This just turned into a staring competition.
We were serious for a while, but a minute later, I was struggling to keep a straight face, and so was Dante.
I giggled a little, then snorted and finally couldn't hold it in anymore. I bursted into laughter and Dante did so too.
"Why are.....we.....laugh......laughing ?" He asked, panting between his breaths.
By now one of my hands was on my stomach because I was laughing so hard and the other way wiping tears from my eyes.
Too breathless for words, I did the 'I don't know' action with my hands.
Finally, we stopped laughing but none of us said a word until we reached Marc Technologies.
"We're here. I'll come to pick you up. Don't leave without me. Alright ?" Dante said, pressing on the breaks.
"Thanks for the offer, but I can handle myself. Plus, my car is already here." I said, picking up the purse from my lap.
Dante gave me the 'Why are you making this hard for me ?' face.
So.... you know what I did ? I gave him the puppy dog eyes.
"Alright, but tell me when you're leaving and then tell me when you reach ho-" He cleared his throat, "House. Tell me when you reach the house." He corrected himself.
"Yeah, don't worry. I will." I smiled, getting out of the car.
A few hours later...
When I, and a few more other interns, were done with the coding for an algorithm that we were creating for another company, I called the meeting off.
"Everyone did a great job today. See you all tomorrow. Goodnight." I told all of them, gathering all the papers on the desk.
"Ok."
"Goodnight."
"Thank you, Ms. Martinez."
"See you."
Are all the responses I got in return.
Smiling, I said 'Bye' and left the conference room. I was walking towards my office, when a voice calling my name.
"Azalea !"
I turned around and saw Dylan. He is a new recruit in the IT team. He joined about a month ago.
In the time that I've know him, I learned that Dylan is really good at coding.
He speaks to me quite often, asking a few questions about the algorithms that we create for other companies.
"Hey, Dylan !" I said, adjusting the stack of papers in my hands.
"Hi, Azalea." He said, running his fingers through his hair. "How are you ?"
"I'm good. How's that algorithm you were working on coming along ?"
"It's going good, thanks for the help by the way." He said.
"No problem. Did you need something ?" I asked.
"Uh...yeah...um...would you want to have dinner....with me.... tomorrow night ? About 8:00 pm ?" Dylan asked, nervously.
I was quite surprised work his question because I don't think I've ever been on a date before.
I mean nobody had ever asked me out. I didn't mind having dinner with him. He is a nice guy.
"Yeah, sure." I said, giving him a warm smile. He looked a little surprised by my answer.
"I'll pick you up ?" Dylan asked.
"Mmhmm...." I hummed. "You have my number, don't you ? I'll text you the location."
"Alright. Give that to me. I'll help you." He said, taking the papers from me.
"Thanks."
We walked to my office and then he left. I called Dante, telling him that I was leaving now. He responded with, 'Okay. Take Care. Call me when you reach.' To which I said, 'Yes, Mom.'
Later, I reached home, told Dante that I had reached, had a shower, ate dinner and waited for Dante to come home for a while.
He texted:
I replied:
I scrolled through my phone for a while and then slept thinking of one thing.
I still have to tell Kim about myself....
