《Cuore Mio》Chapter Five - Lunch

Azalea's POV:
"And this is your office." Dante said, opening a glass door in front of us.
"My very own office, you mean ? When you said office, I thought you meant a cubicle. Not an entire room !" I said him, excitedly.
"Nope. You get a room, just for you." He answers, with a warm smile.
The room wasn't huge, it had more of a cozy vibe, which I liked. It has a black desk in the middle of the room, a couch in the corner of the room, and...
"Is that a mini fridge ?!" I squealed in excitement, more like yelled.
"Jeez woman, stop yelling ! Yes, that's a mini fridge." He said, chuckling.
"Thanks for the office." I said, giving him a warm smile.
"No problem. It's the least I could do to thank you for helping me." He said.
I smiled, walking around the sofa, making a bee line straight to the fridge. I opened the fridge and saw it fully stocked with drinks.
There was water, Gatorade, Sprite and...cold coffee ! I took the coffee and offered Dante too.
"No, I'm good. I don't like coffee." He said.
"Why don't you like it ?" I asked.
"It tastes weird." He answers, scrunching up his nose in disgust.
"Suit yourself." I shrugged, taking a sip of the coffee.
This is so good.
"I'll be in my office if you need anything. Lunch break is at 2:00 pm. You can either go to the restaurant downstairs, or anywhere you want, really. Just be back by 3:00 pm." Dante informed me.
I nodded and sat at the desk. About an hour later, I finished creating the code and the algorithm of the programme.
I learned most of the knowledge I have on computers from my Dad. He might've been a criminal and a hacker, but to me, he was my father.

The same man that reached me to school every morning, the same man that baked cookies with me on Christmas Eve, and the first man that I loved.
Fast forward a few hours, I was almost finished with the coding of the algorithm. Coding is an easy process, but if it isn't done with precision, it could ruin the entire software.
I heard a knock on the door, causing me to snap my head up yo the clock on the wall and then to the door. It was now 2:00 pm; lunch time. Thinking that it was probably Dante, I responded with a 'come in'.
To my surprise, I saw...Alex Moore ?
The Alex Moore is in my office right now ? He is among one of the youngest billionaires in New Orleans !
"Heyyoo Azalea !!" He shouts.
"Um...Hi ?" I greeted, but it sounded more like a question.
"I'm Alex." He said, in a chirpy voice.
"So you're the one Dante has been going crazy over?" He mumbles, but I still catch it. "It's lunch time. Aren't you going to eat ?" He asks.
Wait...what did he just say ? The one Dante has been going crazy over ? Why is Alex here ? He doesn't work here. He has his own company.
"Actually, I'm busy right now. I can't leave this halfway." I said, apologetically.
"Alright, then. I'll send up some food for you." He said, smiling at me warmly.
I don't want to trouble him. He is a CEO and probably has a lot more important work to do than deliver food to an employee; that's not even his.
"You don't have to. I'm not that hungry." I said politely.
Just then, my stomach rumbled.
Quiet down, bitch ! Why'd you betray me like that !

"Yeah, 'cause you're so full now, that your stomach decided to growl in happiness." Alex said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "You can do the work later."
"Alright, I'll come." I sighed in defeat. I finished the coding, while Alex sat on the couch, waiting for me.
A few minutes later, we walked down to the restaurant and ate together, while getting to know each other.
I found out that Dante and Alex are like brothers to each other.
"Tell me about yourself, piccola." He said, using the nickname he gave me a few minutes back.
"I'm not that interesting, actually. I'm 24 years old, I work at Marc Technologies as Head of the IT Department, but I'm working from here now; but you probably already know that.." I answered.
Alex nodded, telling me to continue.
"Where are you from ? What about your family ?"
"I'm from Madrid. As for my parents, they passed away few years ago." I said, blinking my tears away.
I saw guilt flash in his eyes, regretting the question he asked.
"Listen, I'm sor-" Alex tried saying but before he could continue, I interrupted him.
"By, it's fine. You didn't know. Don't be sorry for something you didn't mean to do." I smiled at him, reassuringly.
"Okay." Alex said, giving me a sad smile.
"Well, it's almost 3:00 pm. I better get going now. It was nice meeting you, Alex." I smiled, turning on my heel to go back to my new office.
I turned behind only to stumble behind as I bumped into someone. I look up and saw those alluring olive green orbs staring back at me. Dante.
He put his hands on my shoulders to stabilize me, so I wouldn't fall on my face.
"Careful, Azalea. I don't want you getting hurt before you finish developing my software." He said playfully, mischief evident in his eyes.
"So, it's alright if I get hurt afterwards !!! Mean." I huff, crossing my arms on my chest.
He chuckled and gave Alex a man-handshake-hug thing that guys normally do.
"I see you've already met Alex..." Dante says...his voice trailing off.
Dante and I got in the lift, waiting for our stop. "I have a few requirements for the software, actually. I'll give you the folder, it's in my office." Dante says, suddenly.
"Aye, aye captain !" I replied mockingly.
He chuckled and nodded his head is disbelief. After that, none of us said anything. It was silent, like really silent, but it wasn't awkward silence. As we reached, I followed Dante to his office. We saw Violet searching around his office.
"What are you doing, Violet ?" Dante asks, clenching his jaw, his voice intimidating.
I still don't think they're dating. Maybe she's just obsessed with him, or likes him, but maybe he doesn't feel the same.
"N-nothing, S-sir. I was s-searching for my...pen. I'll l-leave now." Violet stutters.
Dante raised his eyebrow, clearly not believing her lie, but said nothing.
"Here." Dante said, handing me a manila folder.
"Okay, thanks...and bye" I said, not wanting to be around him when he's angry.
