Colton's POV

"Where does your mom think we were last night?" I ask Cam as I climb into her bed next to her. When we got back to her house this afternoon, her mom had already left for work. She just came in a few moments ago to tell Cam goodnight as I hid in the closet. I haven't been home for a while, but tomorrow after school I think I'm going to have to face my father.

"I told her I was visiting Aimee, I didn't tell her I was going to be with you, I didn't want her to worry," she says, laying her head against the pillow as she looks at me. I can tell she's tired, I don't think she got much sleep in the hotel.

"What would she have to worry about?" I ask with a small laugh.

"I don't know, becoming a grandma at the age of 38," she laughs.

"Oh," I laugh nervously. I never realized until now, but I'm not too comfortable with anyone knowing what happens between me and Camryn behind closed doors, especially her mother.

Cam stays smiling at me and says, "I love you." She leans forward and places a soft kiss on my lips. Her lips are soft and taste like cherry Chapstick. Instead of replying, I take her face gently into hands and pull her back to me.

I can't remember the last time we kissed this passionately. I feel like we've been so distant emotionally, but I think that after this weekend things are going to go back to normal, or even better.

"I think things are really looking up for us Miss Sutter," I whisper as I pull away to kiss her forehead.

"I think so too," she smiles. "I'm really happy we did this. I feel... complete. I know the truth now, well most of it, and that's all I ever wanted." She curls up into a little ball at my side and I can soon hear her quiet snores. I knew she was exhausted.

"I love you too," I whisper back before falling asleep next to her.

The sound of Camryn's alarm makes me groan as I reach for her phone to shut it off. I look over at Cam's peaceful face in the dark and pull her tightly against my body. She's so warm and cozy, I don't want to get up for school, but I already missed a week, I don't think I can afford to miss another day.

"Camryn," I whisper trying to gently wake her. "Baby it's time to get up." She groans and turns her head away from me. I laugh and shake her again. "Come on, wake up!" I climb on top of her and dig my face into her neck, gently biting and kissing.

She wiggles underneath me, half laughing, half whining, "Okay okay! I'm up." I roll off of her and smile triumphantly. She kisses me on my cheek before making her way to her bathroom to get ready.

"You look cute," I tell her after she's finished getting dressed. She's wearing one of my gray hoodies and it has never looked so good.

"Thank you," she smiles. We make our way downstairs and outside to her car.

"I miss my bike," I pout, looking over at my precious motorcycle in my driveway.

"Too bad, that thing is dangerous and it freaks me out whenever you ride it," Cam says as she tosses me her keys. I know it scares her, but I love my bike.

I get into the drivers seat and start the car. We're at the school within minutes and I kiss Cam goodbye before we set off to our different classes.

She catches me up on all the work I missed in anatomy and I make sure to meet her by her history class at lunch.

We sit at the only open table in the cafeteria and I dig into my hamburger. I look around and notice multiple groups of people staring at me. "What are they looking at," I ask Cam.

"Not sure," She says, looking around us.

"Move," I hear an annoying voice say from behind me. I already know it's Nova by the pissed look on Cam's face, but that pissed look turns to shock.

I turn around to tell Nova to fuck off, but then I see why Cam is shocked. Behind Nova stands her usual pack of rats but there's a new one behind her. Judith.

Isn't this girl supposed to be Camryn's 'best friend'? Judith has her hair down and her glasses are missing. She has her hand on her hip, waiting for us to move from our table.

Cam doesn't even say anything, she just grabs her stuff and walks away from the table. I go after her, but not before spilling my Gatorade all over the table, making it too much of a mess to sit at.

"Sorry," I shrug to the custodian exiting the cafeteria restroom as I walk past him to get to Cam. Once I reach her outside I ask, "Are you okay." She just laughs.

"After all I did for that girl," she laughs again. "Ugh, I'm not even going to let this ruin my day, she was a shit friend anyways," she says.

"You sure you're good?" I ask, stepping closer to her.

"Yeah, that just caught me off guard." She walks over to me and takes my hand. "I don't think you understand how grateful I am that I have you."

Now I'm the one caught off guard. It always amazes me to realize how much this girl loves me and I her.

Camryn's POV

"Who the hell does she think she is?" I ask Abel as I clean the counter of the diner. "I have always been so nice to that girl!"

"Mmhmm, girls can be cruel, but all we can do is let them go and move on," Abel tells me.

"I know, but still. You should've seen her, she looked just like them," I huff. I know I shouldn't let Judith's new life bother me, but how does someone just turn on their friend like that?

I didn't want to bug Colton with my teenage girl drama but Abel lives for giving advice about this stuff.

"That poor girl is just trying to figure out what she wants, unlike you, she's not happy with who she is. She just wants attention, even if it's from the wrong group of people," she explains. She's right, but I'm too mad to let it calm me.

"I guess, but that doesn't mean I'm going to be nice to her when Nova and her clones tear her apart as a sick joke." Abel laughs and walks back to the kitchen.

"High school drama?" I turn around to see Ryder bringing some food to the counter.

"Yes, I can't believe I have another year and a half of this bullshit," I groan.

"Language!" Abel yells from the kitchen.

"Oops," I laugh and Ryder joins me.

"Ahhh, I remember those days, they sucked," he laughs as I throw my small towel at him.

"Thanks that makes me feel so much better," I say sarcastically.

"Look, you just have to forget about them. You have Colton with you for the rest of the year before he graduates, and after that you're gonna be on your own, and honestly, I think you were always better being by yourself. It keeps you different," he smiles.

"Thank you, that actually made me feel better," I laugh. He's right. I have Colton to lean on for now, but after he graduates it's going to be just me. I guess that's okay, I'm used to being alone.

I glance at the clock and see that it's already five past nine. "Well it looks like my shift's over," I sigh, "I'll see you tomorrow."

I walk to the kitchen to find Abel. "I'll see you tomorrow Abel," I wave to her.

"Alright sweetie, go give your fine man a kiss for me," she calls out with a laugh. I can't help but burst into laughter. Colton's head always gets ten times bigger whenever Abel calls him fine.

"Will do," I tell her. Colton surprisingly didn't visit me at work, I tried to call him on my break but my phone was dead, so Ryder walks me to my car for the first time in ages.

I give him a hug and tell him thank you again before getting in the car and driving off. I turn on my radio and start singing along to "Jessie's Girl" on one of my favorite oldies station.

I pull into my driveway just as the song ends and shut off my car. Before I shut my door I notice a car I don't recognize in Colton's driveway. I'm tempted to check it out, but before I can make it to the lawn, Colton's front door swings open and screams make their way to my ears. My heart begins to race before the screams make themselves clear.

I can hear Walt.

I can hear Colton.

And I can hear Madeleine.
