《The Claim ✔️ *Editing*》15. Leaving So Soon?

I woke up to an empty bed the next morning. The warmth of the bed let me know he hadn't left too long ago. Stretching out my arms and legs, I walked towards the bathroom.
I decided to mind link him when I entered the bathroom. Where are you?
No response.
I sighed then proceeded with my morning routine. When I was done washing my face and brushing my teeth, I took the time to straighten my hair. I changed into a pair of ripped black skinny jeans and a cream sweater. I slid my feet into my white vans and left the house in search for Titus.
After closing the front door, I began my walk to the pack house. I pulled my phone out of my pocket as it began vibrating.
I wasn't going to bring up the fact that Carter knew Titus was my mate before I did. I didn't feel like reopening old wounds. I wanted things to get back to normal, and bringing up that topic was not going to help.
I shoved my phone back into my pocket and started laughing. Carter hated when I gave him one word responses. It made him feel "unimportant," his words not mine. I did it all the time just to get under his skin.
Looking up, I realized I was in front of the pack house's door.
Well that was fast.
I opened the door and welcomed the heated air. I spotted Lilly and walked towards her. She smiled when I approached her. "Luna." She said with a bow.
"Um hi Lily. Sorry to bother you, but do you know where I can find Titus?" I asked.
"Alpha is in a meeting right now, preparing for his departure."
I furrowed my brows. "Departure?"
She nodded. "Yes. He's leaving for another pack in a few minutes."
"What?" Her eyes went wide. "He didn't tell you? He'll be gone for a week or so." She says matter-of-factly.
What the f*ck? I'm going to kill him!
"Okay. Thanks for telling me." I put on a fake smile.

"Sure, no problem." She offered me one last smile before she went on her way.
I started walking towards Titus's office. I stopped at the end of the hall when I saw his door was slightly open.
Titus's voice boomed through the hall. "You are to take my place while I am gone." I inched closer to the doorway. Peeking inside, I saw the room was filled with some of the warriors and Ryan.
"I need to take a look at his warriors. See where they're at, strength wise."
"Yes alpha." They all said in unison. "You are all dismissed."
I was about to make a run for it when Titus spoke again. "Brinn, you can come in now." I groaned and ran my hand over my face.
I waited for all the warriors to leave before I walked in. I walked in and took a seat in one of the chairs in front of his desk. He walked in front of me then sat on the edge of his desk.
"You look beautiful today." He reached to grab my hand but I swatted it away. "Oh cut the bullsh*t. Why didn't you tell me you were leaving?" I crossed my arms over my chest, waiting for an explanation.
"I was about to tell you now." I narrowed my eyes at him. "I just found out this morning Brinn." He explained.
I eyed him suspiciously. "I guess..."
He grabbed my arm and pulled me to his chest. "I'll be back in a week."
I nodded. "Okay."
He brought his lips to mine in a swift motion. I wrapped my arms around his neck to deepen the kiss. We both pulled away at the sound of a knock. "Come in." Titus said, clearly annoyed.
One of the warriors walked in. "It's time to go alpha."
Titus nodded. He grabbed his suitcase then placed a kiss on my forehead. "Call me if you need me." He said as he pulled away.
He gave me one last look before he walked out of the door.

The rest of the day was rather boring. I literally sat around in Titus's office doing homework. When I had finally had enough, I left the office. I decided to roam the halls until something interesting happened.
I heard laughter coming from the media room so I walked towards the room, instantly intrigued. When I entered the room a male and a female around my age were laughing hysterically. They instantly stopped when they noticed they weren't the only ones in the room.
They snapped their heads in my direction. "Awkward..." I stated.
Their eyes went wide and they stood. "Luna." They both said in unison.
"Hi, uh what are you guys doing?"
"We're debating on what movie to watch." The girl said.
"Cool, can I join." They both nodded eagerly.
I sat in the middle of them. The girl handed me the popcorn. "Thank you." She smiled.
"So what're your names?" I asked as I chewed on the popcorn. "I'm Seth, and this is my sister Maci."
"Nice to meet you two." I shook both of their hands.
"What movie are we watching?" I asked.
We ended watching The SpongeBob Movie. I've seen it a million times, but it's still a good movie. We talked the majority of the movie. I got to know a lot about them.
Seth had just turned nineteen and Maci was seventeen. Seth was apparently training to be a pack warrior. He didn't say much about his mate. He just said he found her when he turned seventeen. I could tell it was a touchy subject, so I left it alone. Now Maci on the other hand, she went on and on about her mate. About how he's a pack warrior and how he's so hot. Seth and I had to throw popcorn at her to get her to shut up.
These two made good company. I was definitely going to keep them around. I looked at my watch and saw that it was past midnight. I groaned. "Ugh, we missed dinner." The both looked at me then burst into laughter.
"What?" I asked.
"It's just funny because the only thing you care about is food." Seth said through laughs.
Yeah, that was true.
"Wanna go raid the fridge?" They both agreed.
We made our way to the kitchen. I ran straight to the fridge when we walked into the kitchen. I pulled out a container of spaghetti. I grabbed three plates then piled the spaghetti on them. I popped them in the microwave then joined Seth and Maci at the table.
Ryan walked in moments later. "Only you would be up at one in the morning making spaghetti." He came to my side and ruffled my hair.
"You know it." Seth and Maci chuckled lightly.
"Alpha wants you to stay in the pack house until he's back."
"What the- why?" He shrugged his shoulders. "It's not safe for you to be in a house that big by yourself."
I let off a huff of breath. "Fine."
"Oh Seth, you'll be training with me tomorrow." Seth nodded.
"Good night guys." Ryan grabbed a water bottle out of the fridge and left.
When the microwave chimed. Maci went to grab our plates. We had a casual conversation while we ate our food.
When we were done eating we placed our food in the sink and went our separate ways. I went to the third floor. Just like my home, the third floor was the Alpha and Luna quarters. But since Titus moved out, it's just filled with vacant rooms.
I walked into the first room I saw. I was way too tired to be picky about rooms. I stopped midway. This room was foreign to me. I quickly realized it was the Alpha and Luna's room. It was like our room at home, but it had a more traditional feel.
I slid into the four-post bed then bundled the warm blankets around me. Sleep quickly took over.
