《The Claim ✔️ *Editing*》14. Pack Run

Everyone was talking amongst each other when Titus and I walked up. I waved to Alex when I caught sight of her. She smiled as she walked towards me, with Ryan following close behind. She pulled me into a tight hug. Titus and Ryan moved to the side and started up a conversation.
"Where's Ellie?" I asked.
"Rachel and a couple of the elders stayed behind to watch the pups." She explained.
I smiled. "That was nice of them."
She shrugged her shoulders. "Yes, it was."
Titus's voice boomed through the crowd. "All right everyone."
The conversations came to a halt and all the focus was on Titus. "Let's head out."
Titus grabbed ahold of my hand. Ryan reciprocated the same action for Alex. We followed Titus until we were in the front of the woods. Titus stopped and stared up at the moon. He turned and looked back at the crowd. "Shift." He ordered.
The sound of bones cracking filled the air. Titus pulled me behind a tree and some bushes. "Why are we hiding?" He removed his hoodie. "If you think I'm going to allow a male to see you naked, then you are sadly mistaken." I nodded understandingly.
I turned around as he reached for his shorts, too embarrassed to look. "Are you done?" I asked after a couple of minutes.
When I turned back around, Titus was in his wolf form. I went to reach for my shirt when a sudden surge of panic sunk in. I sank down into the ground and held my hand to my chest. "I can't do this." I started hyperventilating.
Titus was by my side in a flash. He let out a whimper then ran his tongue along my face. "Calm down Brinn, you got this." I chanted to myself. I untied my shoes and threw them to the side.
I lifted my shirt but paused midway. "Can you like...turn around?" He laid on his stomach and placed his head on the ground. His tail thudded loudly against the forest floor.

I rolled my eyes. "Fine."
I slipped out of my all my clothing and let my wolf take over. The shift was painful but not as bad as the first time. When I was fully shifted I shook out my fur. Walking over to Titus, I nuzzled my head into his fur. He let out a purr of approval.
He grabbed me by the scruff of the neck and walked back towards the others.
I mentally rolled my eyes. I hope he knows I can walk.
Yes , I am fully aware. His voice fills my head.
What the? You can you hear my thoughts? He sets me down once we are near the others. I marked you in wolf form, remember?
Oh yeah. How could I forget? I said sarcastically.
Titus stood in front of the crowd with me on his side. Everyone ready?
We all nodded in unison. Okay let's go. He said in the pack link.
We all took off together. I was on Titus's right, while everyone else stayed a few feet behind.
So, can I like, mind link with everyone in the pack now?
Yes, since you are now officially apart of the pack.
Cool, what about us? I asked.
We can as well, but it won't be the same as if I were to mark you in our skin side. He directed his gaze to my neck.
How so? I was curious.
When I mark you, it will be more personal. I can feel your emotions and feeling. Vice versa. He explained.
I knew a little about mates. But obviously not enough. I just had so much on my mind at the time that I never really worried about it. Everyone was always excited to meet their mate. It's not that I wasn't excited. I just had the mentality that if it happened it happened. I wasn't going to spend my whole life worrying about something that I wouldn't find until I was seventeen.
He grabbed me by the scruff of my neck when I started falling behind.

Titus. I whined.
You were falling behind.
I let out a huff of breath. What's the point of a pack run if you don't get to run?
We stopped when we reached a clearing. A few wolves congregated around the small lake. While others played chase.
Titus finally put me down. Come, He demanded.
I followed close behind him as he walked toward two wolfs. I immediately knew it was Alex and Ryan. Alex's jet black wolf licked my face.
Titus and Ryan were staring at each other for a while.I rushed it off as them mind linking. Titus glanced back at me then looked toward the forest. Gesturing for me to follow.
I stayed close to Titus the whole time. So close, I occasionally rubbed against his side. Titus and I both froze when we heard rustling in one of the bushes. He pushed me further behind him with his snout. A few moments later a deer jumped out. Titus sunk down to the ground, watching his prey.
He crept towards the deer slowly. I stood back and watched in awe. When he caught the deer's attention he pounced on it, bringing the deer to his mercy. He ripped into the deer's flesh and began his feast.
I walked slowly towards him and the deer. He stepped back and nudged me forward, providing for his female. I dug my claws and teeth into the deer, becoming lost in my food.
I guess I might have overdone it because before I knew it the deer was nearly gone and I was faced with a growling Titus. I backed away slowly, nervous of what my consequences would be. Before I could take another step, Titus was on me. He sank his canines into my mark, holding me down until I stayed completely still.
He got off me then shot me a warning growl to stay where I was at. He walked toward the deer and finished what was left of it. I laid on my stomach and rested my head on the ground. A whimper escaped my mouth. My wolf's form of an apology.
He walked towards me and ran his tongue over my face before he nuzzled his nose into my fur. He let out a howl to let the other wolfs know it was time to head back.
Titus let me run beside him this time, opposed to him dragging me along. We reached the front of the forest in record time. Many wolfs were already shifted back in their human form when we arrived. As usual, Titus pulled us behind the trees and bushes we were at earlier to change.
We both shifted and changed into our clothes. Titus grabbed my hand and we walked back to the house.
When we entered the house a yawn escaped my mouth. "Someone's tired." He eyed me suspiciously.
"Aren't you?" I asked as we walked up the stairs.
He shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe a little."
As soon as we entered the room, I kicked off my shoes and ran towards the shower. I slid out of my clothes and let the warm water cascade over me. I washed the dirt out of my hair and body.
I turned the shower off when I was fully clean. I wrapped towel around my body and hair then left out of the bathroom. Titus wasn't in the room when I walked in. I just assumed he was downstairs or something. Walking into the closet, I changed into black pajama bottoms and an old band t-shirt.
When I walked out of the closet I heard the shower on so I walked to my side of the bed and slid under the covers.
I was just about to fall asleep when I felt the bed dip. Warm arms wrapped around my waist, causing sparks to ignite. He pulled me to his bare chest and nuzzled his nose in my neck. "Goodnight love."
"Goodnight." A few minutes later I was out like a match.
