《Of Romance and Revenge》Seventeen

(Oliver's POV)

Goddammit.

I finally got back into Camden's good graces and Jasper had to go and fucking ruin it. It's like he knew I was having a good moment and he just had to toy with me.

Like it's not enough that he killed two of my best men and stole my shit. And now Camden wants to come with me to kill him. When I saw that determined look in her eyes, I knew there was no telling her no. She's too damn stubborn for her own good.

We head downstairs immediately, my men and women already mobilizing. Everyone that went to clean up the distribution center was already back and preparing to leave. Within minutes, we're piling into blacked out SUVS, Camden following close behind me.

I look at my Chevelle longingly.

I hate driving these bulky cars, but I just can't risk anything happening to my pride and joy. I just wish I could keep Camden here with it. I roll down my window and pull out a cigarette. Camden scrunches her nose at me in disgust but, thankfully, doesn't say anything.

Though I'd never admit it, my nerves are shot. I grip the steering wheel so tightly, but it's just to keep my hands from visibly shaking. The cigarette hangs loosely between my lips, but I put it between my fingertips before taking a long, hard drag.

I have no idea what I'm sending my people into.

I thought I'd have more time to plan an attack, go over the details before Jasper reared his ugly head, but I have the perfect opportunity to take my revenge- to fuck with him the way he fucked with me- and I have to take it. If I don't, I might not get another chance, or worse, Jasper might come for me again.

Either way, I'm royally fucked.

After about fifteen minutes we arrive at an abandoned fish market where Kingston and Lydia are waiting for us.

"Where are we?" Camden looks over at me confused.

I unbuckle my seatbelt and she follows suit.

"We have to walk from here. The loading dock is a couple of miles up the road, but we can't let them see our cars pulling up."

I walk around to her side and open the door for her, holding my hand out to help her step down. A look of uncertainty crosses her features. She tries to hide it, my stubborn little fighter, but I see right through her. She's just as scared as I am.

"Camden, if you don't want to do this, I completely understand. You can wait here or take the car back."

She shakes her head and squares her shoulders.

"No way, we're in this together."

She holds her pinky out to me- I can't help but crack a small smile. A childhood ritual she'll never let me forget. I wrap my pinky around hers, sealing the deal.

"We're in this together," I nod in agreement.

I lift the trunk of the SUV to reveal a wide array of weapons. I take my pick first before letting everyone grab the weapons of their choosing. I keep the 1911 for myself and hand Camden the Glock 19.

Joe trained her with guns from a young age- wanting to make sure she and his wife could protect themselves- and if my memory serves me correctly, Camden was one hell of a shot.

"Stay behind me," I command.

I half expect her to argue with me, to tell me that she can hold her own, but she gives me a mock salute and smiles a soft, unsure smile.

"Aye aye, Captain."
