I can't stop fucking smiling.

Walking down the street, away from Skylar's building, I cannot keep my grin to myself. Which is obviously scaring some people from college, as I apparently never seem to smile.

But I can't help myself, not after last night. Her smile, her laugh, all of it was breathtakingly gorgeous.

But my god her body, it was like she was a fucking piece of art. I don't think I've ever lost control like that, I've never been so determined, so hungry for someone.

And I may sound like an animal but I couldn't care less. Skylar's broken all the little amount of self-control I ever had in life.

It's like her lips are drugs and I'm now an addict. I can't stop thinking about them.

Reaching campus, I head for football training. I enter through the players entrance, my smile becomes even bigger at the sight of the field.

Football is it for me. There's nothing else, no plan B or a different hobby I want to turn into a job.

Which may seems risky because if this fails, I have nothing. But I'm not bothered, I will make it.

I'm not stopping until I make it.

Opening up the door to the changing room, I'm greeted by the sight of sixteen semi-naked male bodies.

There's jeers and shouts as they spot me and I grin, going over and putting my bag in a locker.

"Why are you fuckers so happy?" I laugh as I throw back a t-shirt that was thrown at me.

"Heard you got with a girl." Rory, a guy from the team says as he walks over to me.

The rest of the guys return to getting ready but Rory leans beside the locker I'm currently putting my stuff into.

"Huh?" I ask, playing dumb.

Skylar and I are none of their business. They can take their spotty noses out of the situation.

"You know, the girl who dances. Great body." Rory answers, his remark is answered by a series of low whistles in agreement.

A sudden urge of anger surges through me at their remarks, my hands clenching into fists. Trying to maintain my cool, I stuff my hands into my joggers and raise my eyebrows.

But I know they're right, dammit I do. Her body is like some sort of dream that was designed to torture me.

It's at this point I realise I needed last night to happen and I'm going to make it happen again.

"Yeah, we've been talking," I shrug, trying not to smile at the total understatement I just told. "How come you know about it?" I ask.

"Some girl, I don't know man. Rachel, I think? Great in bed, though." Rory smirks, before turning round to face the packed locker room. "I highly recommend, lads."

Sometimes my own teammates disgust me.

Shaking my head I pull out my jersey before turning back to Rory. "Whatever she said, ignore it."

"So I'm guessing you want me to ignore that massive grin on your face too, huh, QB?" A Sophomore calls.

"Shut up, just be glad that you're not virgin anymore." I scoff, annoyed that people are listening in.

My patience easily disappears with these guys.

The sophomore immediately goes red, but before I can apologise, Coach storms in and he does not look happy.

Oh joy.

••••

Sweat pours down my face as I play the final shot of the game. I shout instruction as we try to get past the other team.

However, it's training, so it's basically our team split into two. But I really don't care, my competitiveness takes over either way.

Coach has been in a bad mood today, not telling us what the issue is but instead has punished us all with extra drills.

Coach yells time and tells us to head to the showers. I almost weep in relief. Yeah, I may be in shape. But nothing will ever prepare you for what your body goes through in coaching.

Heading to the lockers, I jump in the shower and quickly get changed afterwards.

Walking back to my apartment, my phone begins vibrating in my pocket. I secretly hope that it's Skylar but, it's not.

The name Maxwell shows up on my screen.

My mood immediately shoots downwards and I scowl at the ringing object in my hand.

Pressing decline, I shove it back in my pocket.

Not dealing with that today.

Or ever.

••••

After finishing my box of rabbit food with chicken (I really hate footballer's diets, in case you haven't noticed) I flick on the TV and begin re-watching our previous match.

I quite literally, eat, sleep and breath football.

Add a bit of Skylar into the mix and you've got my day to day thoughts.

Smiling at my childish thoughts, I pull out my phone to text her.

Just as I open up her contact, my phone rings. A photo of Rob and I appears, the two of us standing in the middle of the football pitch, both of us grinning.

I accept the call, "Hey, man."

"Hey, Axel," Rob clears his throat and I immediately know something is wrong. Rob's voice is low and hoarse, his tone giving away how he's feeling. "Look Axel, don't freak out..."

"Why would I freak out?" I ask, nerves shooting through my body.

"Skylar's in the hospital."

•••••

I sprint through the hospital doors, ignoring the curious glances that follow.

As soon as Rob uttered those four words, my body went into lock-down. I managed to get here in half of the time it usually takes. Running to the front desk, I come to a halt as I see three other people at the desk.

You have got to be fucking kidding me.

I let out a huff and slowly walk out of the queue and straight past the front desk.I'm stopped by a male nurse as soon as I take three steps forward.

Well, it was worth a shot.

"I'm sorry, sir, are you okay? You must go to the check-in desk." He instructs giving me the evil eye.

Internally I scoff, I'm at least four inches taller than this guy and he looks as though to be about the same age as me.

A name badge doesn't make you a superhero, Micheal.

"Sorry," I lie through my clenched jaw. "I just need to know where Skylar Black's room is."

"Oh, I was just there." He nods cheerfully.

That's not the question I asked, you retard.

"She's in room 286." He adds after he sees my death glare.

Nodding in thanks, I turn and run up the stairs. My muscles scream in disagreement due to this mornings training, but my thoughts remain solely on Skylar.

Reaching room 286 I throw open the door to be met with two pairs of eyes. One a soft brown and the others are Rob's.

As soon as I see that little five foot four women who's been occupying my thoughts all day, sitting in one piece, I can't help but run over to her side.

"You called Axel?" Skylar groans, turning away from me and facing Rob.

Way to make me feel appreciated.

"Yep. Good luck, Cupcake." Rob winks at me as he slips out of the room

"He's overreacting." Skylar huffs as she swings her legs that are hanging off the bed, due to her sitting upright on the side and from being so tiny.

I sit down opposite her, my eyes quickly assessing her face, a scratch lays on the skin just above her eyebrow. Her silky, pristine skin that I love to stare at now looking a bit sore. My eyes drift down further and come to land on a bright pink cast covering her arm from her wrist to just past her elbow.

"Clearly." I roll my eyes. I lift my hand and cup the side of her face that isn't injured. "What happened?"

"Dance. I tried to do a spin but I slipped and fell banging my head on a bar on the way down. I may have a teeny tiny concussion as well." Skylar explains guiltily, letting out a huff of annoyance.

I let out a breath, relieved that the thoughts my mind had conjured up weren't true. "You have no idea how worried I was." I breath out, stroking my thumb across her skin.

She lets out a small smile, biting her lip. She knows that teases me too.

I grin at her shyness before removing my hand from her face to drag her lip away from her teeth. She looks at me in curiosity, as if trying to figure me out.

I'll let her figure me out. At this point, I'm a lost cause.

To keep her thoughts from overriding her brain, I place my hand back where it was before and lean in.

The kiss is soft and gentle, my relief pouring over me. Skylar goes to move during the kiss, but lets out a groan of frustration.

"I can't move." She huffs.

"At least you can move your lips." I wink before pulling her into another kiss.

And just as I'm about to loose any sense of calm in my brain, the door slams open.

Rob stands there, looking like he's just won the lottery, his eyes solely on Skylar and I.

••••

"I'm staying over." I announce as I walk back into the dorm after picking up Skylar's dance stuff she left at the gym.

"Figured as much." Rob laughs.

He hasn't stopped smiling since he caught Skylar and I kissing in the hospital room.

The hospital was willing to let Skylar leave, her concussion actually did turn out out be mild and her broken arm isn't something worthy of staying the night apparently.

When did hospitals become so strict?

Rob goes to the bathroom as I dump my bag on Rob and Skylar's desk.

I turn around to face Skylar, who immediately reaches out and wraps her one good arm around me.

I really hope she can't feel my heart pounding against my chest.

"Thank you for coming today." She mumbles, her voice muffled by my t-shirt.

"Anytime."

••••

Well that was a dramatic chapter!

What's our thoughts?

At least Skylar wasn't seriously hurt, I couldn't do that to you guys ;)

But who is Maxwell?? Leave your suggestion here!

I decided to give you Axel's point of view just because I feel as though their relationship is starting to seriously take off a bit, so we needed his point of view! It was hard to write though, so I would love some thoughts on it!

Thank you for reading, please leave a vote if you enjoyed it :)

Much love,
