《Heart Strings | ✓》EPILOGUE

"No, this is how you do it." Jack moved my fingers across the piano as he tried to teach me.

I knew how to play the piano before but it has been a while. I sold my old keyboard to make extra money for mom's medication.

I've gotten the hang of it mostly. I sometimes make a mistake by accidentally playing the wrong chord. I did have a teeny-tiny problem with having to understand the music sheets. But I'm making good progress.

Jack was playing wonderfully and I can't help but look at him with adoration.

I was too busy admiring him to realize he was playing Lover by Taylor Swift then he began singing.

We can leave the Christmas lights up 'til January

This our place, we make the rules

And there's a dazzling haze, a mysterious way about you dear

Have I known you 20 seconds or 20 years?

We have known each other longer than that.

Can I go where you go?

Can we always be this close forever and ever?

And ah, take me out, and take me home

You're my, my, my, my

Lover

We could let our friends crash in the living room

This our place, we make the call

And I'm highly suspicious that everyone who sees you wants you

I've loved you three summers now, honey, but I want 'em all

Our gazes match and we found ourselves smiling stupidly at each other instead. I scooted closer over to Jack and rested my head on his shoulder. We sat in comfortable silence.

She's right. Loving someone for a long time now, you can't help but want to spend the rest of your lives together.

Jack asked me to move in with a year ago. I said yes to him. Although it was hard moving saying goodbye to Stacy and the others and to my job, I was sure with my decision. I found a new job in a nearby preschool from our home.

Our home.

Those words bring warmth to my heart.

Mr. Louie is alive and kicking. And I mean literally kicking specifically anything that belongs to Jack. I really need to tame this cat whenever he's around my boyfriend. I don't understand how he's such a sweetheart when it comes to me.

The world knows about his relationship with him. I agreed to let him announce that we're together but that's it. Our relationship is still out of the public eye, only a few pictures of us here and there on social media.

That's most of what happened the past three years.

"I-I remember that I have to do something real quick." Jack said, moving from our seat. "I'll be back, Angel." He placed a kiss on top of my head before going.

I hummed in reply.

While he was gone, I continued pressing random chords on the piano trying to create a melody. I put my focus on that as I waited for Jack to come back.

I wonder what he was doing?

I glide my hands on the keys mindlessly. What am I even doing? I laughed at myself.

"Callie," I can hear Jack from behind.

I quickly turned around. "Hey, what-" My jaw dropped at the sight in front of me.

Jackson was bent one knee, an opened red velvet box with a beautiful ruby red ring.

"Jack..." I put a hand over my mouth in shock.

"W-Will you, Callissa Beatrice Garwood, marry me?" He asked, shaking.

I nodded my head continuously, tears falling down from my eyes. "Yes! Yes, of course!" I exclaimed, running to him and knelt down to hug him.

He pulled away from the hug and slipped on the ring.

"Can't wait to change your last name and make me your husband." Jack said before crashing his lips on mine.

A/N: No, because this book is finally done! I really had fun writing this story and will for sure miss Callie and Jack after this. I hope you loved reading the book as much as I did writing. Now that that's done, I have a lot of editing to do.
