Diya POV:

Snoozing my alarm I rub my eyes and stretch a little bit, getting up from my bed I fold my sheets. It's 7 am now. I have to be in college before 9 am. I wake up a little early so I don't have to rush in getting ready.

After my shower routine, I dress up for the day which is a blue green salwar suit (picture above).

Thankfully our college doesn't have any particular dress code for staffs, u can wear salwar suits, kurtas, saree etc..I don't like makeup that much so I just stick to eyeliner and a lil bit of nude lipstick. Also applied my sunscreen.

I make my tea and for breakfast I have some toast with peanut butter. Simple but yummy. I take my work bag and fill with my essentials , notes and water bottle.

* work bag *

I mostly cook something for my packing lunch but today I'm planning to eat on the college canteen.

Slipping into my comfortable flats I lock my apartment, I go to the ground floor by lift. It takes 20 mins to reach my college by bus.

I have a bus stop near my house. It's lil rush during this hour but not crazy rush like during the peak hours. I get into the bus, there are no seats available to sit but it happens very often so I'm used to this......

I reach my college by a small walk from the bus stop to my college. I go to the staff room after signing my attendance in the office. I have 2 classes in the morning and 1 in the afternoon.

I was greeted by my colleagues, I wish them back with a small smile. And start taking notes and books for my 1 st class which starts in 10 am, it's 9.30 right now.

I go through the book for a little bit until it's time for my class.........

1st class for the day is done. Students here are pretty well behaved, I mostly take classes for 1 st yrs. Rest of the day goes the same way, I read my lecture books or my other book which I carry with me, during my free time.

Evening is super rush to travel especially through bus, but I finally reached my apartment, sigh. First thing I do is freshen up and change my dress to pjs and tshirt. Drink a lot of water cuz I'm super thirsty.

Lying on sofa, I think about what I'm going to do for diwali. Every year I decorate my house a lil bit, buy some sweet from a nearby sweet shop and cook my fav food and not to forget new clothes.

So ya that's how I am celebrating diwali and other festivals after moving into my apartment.

Ya I know it's kind of lonely and depressing but heyy!! Something is better than nothing. But I am hoping soon I will be celebrating with my very own family.

Days pass by, it's already Friday,.... I do my routine and click some pictures....at evening I enjoy seeing some fireworks from my balcony. After some time I get ready for bed and fell asleep reading my book..

Few months later

These days work is super hectic because there is an upcoming big event in our college, some special guests are coming to attend. The preparations are going on full flow.

Day of the event;

I woke up little earlier because I have to wear a saree. After draping the saree, I did a simple hairstyle and also did some light makeup. My saree is in yellow color with a green color blouse.

Getting my things, I lock the apartment. Reaching the entrance, today I decided to take an auto because I don't want mess my saree.

Everyone is running here and there, doing some last-minute preparations. I greet a few staff and students on my way to the auditorium, where everyone is asked to assemble for the special guest speaker.

Everyone stands from their seats and welcomes the guests. Who is the very famous businessman, Mr Mohan Shekhawat? He is an inspiration for so many young people, who wants to achieve big in the business world. He was accompanied by his wife Mrs Indra Shekhawat.

She is a pretty lady with a beautiful smile. Looking at her gives me this warmth of a mother. *weird*.

Mr Shekhawat gives a fantastic speech to the students.

After the speech, the guests move to the auditorium hall to look at the student's projects and other works. I looked at a few of them earlier when it was not crowded, but now it is super crowded with so many people.

I sit by myself in the auditorium, other staffs are a little nearby me. But they are having their conversations. It feels lonely, but I got used to this. So no problem.

After some time, I walked to the end of the hall to use the restroom. I was washing my hands when I hear a sound, suddenly someone opened the restroom door.

I saw Mrs Shekhawat standing, but she has a painful expression on her face. She was looking down at her feet.

I saw where she was looking, there is a big cut on the side of her feet and it is bleeding. Oh, God..... I said, " mam please sit down on that chair". I took the first aid kit which was placed near the mirror. I sat before her on the floor as there was no extra chair in the room. (Like half-sitting).

Slowly removing her slipper from her feet, I placed her feet on my lap and started cleaning the blood. She was hissing the entire time, I cleaned her wound, it stopped bleeding and I applied some ointment.

I looked at her face, she has a smile and said " Thank you so much beta, yo...". Before she continues speaking I asked her " how did this happen mam, it looks like something sharp scratched your feet".

She said, " I was walking around looking at the student's stalls, I guess something sharp near the table scratched me. I only noticed it after it started bleeding". Ohh...

I said, " mam do you need me to call someone also please check your wound in a clinic while going to your house". She said " I will dear, you no need to call anyone dear because within next 5 mins my husband will be here" while smiling. I gave her a small smile. I was going say her that I'm going back to the auditorium, but before that, there is a knock on the door.

She asked me to help her to go near the door, opening the door we are greeted with a very tensed looking Mr Shekhawat. He said, " I was searching for you, Indra, our driver said you are injured. What happened". With a worried look.

Mrs Shekhawat mumbled something to herself and said " Mohan, it's nothing just a small scratch see". Before he can say anything she looks at me and says " He worries too much dear, even for small things".

She said to her husband that I helped with the wound. She asked for my name, when I said I am a lecturer her she looked a little surprised. Because she taught I was a student. Her husband thanked me with a kind smile.

He checked her wound. He even said that he won't leave her hand ever, especially when they are outside. She rolled her eyes at her husband, gave a smile and said goodbye.

They went on their way.

At the end of the day, I was lying on my bed. My thoughts went back to Mr and Mrs Shekhawat. Even an unknown person can see how much he loves and cares for his wife.

God, I wish in future. If I get married, I want my husband to be so caring and loving. More than anything he should be my best friend.

I wish that I had someone to call mine. To be my home and peace.
