Jake P.O.V.

I chuckled as Adriana stared at my motorcycle in pure horror. She was wearing a black tang-top and a black leather jacket over it. A silver cross necklace hung around her neck and black skinny jeans clung to her long thin legs. Her hair was in a simple pony tail and black eyeliner framed her wide green eyes that had contacts in. She looked gorgeous.

I whined and patted my motorcycle's sleek leather seat. I jumped on and grinned at her. I turned it on and revved it. Adriana let out a startled squeak and jumped away from it. I tossed her a helmet and yelled over the roar of the engine,

"Get on I will keep you perfectly safe!"

Adriana cautiously approached the bike, her face pale. She finally stood next to it and blinked at me,

"I don't know how to get on."

I laughed and twisted my torso and grabbed her by the hips and effortlessly picked her up and placed her behind me on the bike. She let a startled squeal and placed her hands on my shoulders. I rolled my eyes and grabbed her hands and guided them around my waist. I revved my bike again and yelled,

"Hold on tight!"

Her grip was light at first but the second the bike jerked her timid grip turned to a crushing one. I chuckled and rode out of the property. Adriana had buried her head in my shoulder and I realized she was shaking. I slowed the bike down and yelled,

"Look up at the sunrise Bookworm!"

I felt her slowly pull her head out of my bike and she gasped. I jumped slightly when she rested her chin on my shoulder and whispered hoarsely in my ear,

"It's beautiful..."

I smiled gently and sped the bike up a little bit, weaving between cars. I felt Adriana's hands leave my waist and I found myself missing her warm grip.

"This is amazing!"

I twisted my neck slightly and my breath caught. Adriana had her hands up the air, her hair flying wildly behind her. Her green eyes sparkled and caught the sun. Her clothes snapped and waved in the wind. Her mouth was open and smiling as she cheered,

"I can't believe I have never done this before!"

I laughed and I knew she heard me. I pulled off the highway and slowed down. I faintly heard Adriana whine in complaint behind me and I laughed. Her hands wrapped themselves around my waist again and I found a goofy grin come across my face.

I felt people gawking and staring at us as we pulled into the school parking lot. I tried to wipe the grin off my face and failed miserably. I helped Adriana off the bike and she ran a hand through her hair and chuckled breathlessly.

"That was amazing, Jake."

I felt my grin get a little bit bigger when she said my name. I hung her helmet off the handle bars and started walking towards the school. She scampered up to me and chattered like a little girl,

"That was great! It was so exhilarating! The sunrise was so pretty off the bike and the wind felt so nice!"

I chuckled and climbed up the stairs of the school, still seeing people staring at us. They were all whispering to themselves. Reece ran up to us with a playful smirk. He leaned forward and whispered in my ear,

"You are so whipped."

I scoffed and shove him away.

"As if."

Reece rolled his eyes at me before turning to Adriana. He licked his lips and looked her up and down. Adriana blushed and looked up at him through her lashes. Reece threw an arm over her shoulders and winked her, making me frown.

"Well what happened to our little Bookworm? You look absolutely delectable."

Adriana slipped out of his arm and walked away, giving me a shy little smile as she walked by me. That was all it took for the stupid grin to come back across my face.

"Well isn't someone in a good mood."

I rolled my eyes and did not even look at her.

"It's not because of you Tirana."

For once, Tirana ignored me and turned to her followers. They all giggled and squeaked,

"Did you see, Nerd?" "She looks disgusting and slutty." "She probably wants to get laid by Reece. Did you see the look she was giving him!?" "Ugh, I know right?! Pathetic."

I turned around and snarled in anger, slamming my locket shut, making them jump and shrink away from me. I glared at them all, especially Tirana, and growled,

"Shut up and go to hell. You don't know what you are talking about."

Tirana snorted unattractively and walked forward bravely.

"What? Do you actually LIKE that ugly Bookworm? Puh-leeease you could do so much better."

I stepped forward and glared at her coldly, my fists curled up so tight they were white and my nails were digging painfully into my palm.

"Actually I don't think I could."

Tirana looked baffled as she spun around and stalked away, her slutty followers scampering after her.

When I turned back to Reece he batted his eye lashes at me and swooned. He squealed in a girly voice,

"That was so hot!"

Then the playful look on Reece's face fell and he looked dazed. I turned my head and saw Madison storming up to us.

Reece hid behind me and Madison stopped in front of me, tapping her foot, her hip popped out. She was nearly a foot shorter than me like Adriana but I felt intimidated. Madison poker her finger into my chest and snarled warningly,

"Adriana told me everything and if I find out you do ANYTHING pervy with my innocent little Adriana, I swear you will wish you were dead. You mommy will never have grand-kiddos and that comes with a 'Madison-will-kick-your-ass guarantee'! And I know she looks TOTALLY hot and sexy today but restrain your stupid testosterone filled brains and keep your hands to yourself. Especially you, Reece."

Madison spat out Reece's name and glared pointedly at him. Reece shrank away and nodded weakly. Madison turned her piercing blue-eyed gaze back to me and whispered to me so only I could hear,

"Don't hurt her please, Jake."

I shook my head and smiled assuringly at her and whispered back,

"I could never do such a thing."

Madison nodded, looking satisfied, and walked away. Me and Reece let out the breaths we didn't even know we were holding and looked at each other before bursting out laughing. Reece chuckled,

"She is so intimidating! Did you see her face?"

I laughed and nodded,

"You should ask her out. It would be hilarious for me to watch her kick your butt daily."

Reece sobered up a little bit and shook his head,

"I can't ask her out. She will think I'm asking for a one-night stand when I really truly want more than that."

I was slightly shocked at his confession. Reece was a bigger player than even me, and that was something impressive.

Suddenly I saw a group of nerds walk by where me and Reece were talking. They had surrounded a single nerd. I asked Reece,

"That's Norman right?"

Reece frowned slightly but nodded.

Norman was a nerd with black glasses and brown hair and freckles. I often heard girls squealing about how cute he was. I heard one nerd say to Norman, making me almost snarl outloud,

"I heard Adriana looks totally hot today."

Another nerd nudged Norman with his elbow,

"This could be your chance to ask her out!"

I clenched my fists so hard they quivered. Reece looked startled and placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Easy man, chill out."

I glared at him and Reece raised his hands in surrender. I needed a distraction. An unfamiliar emotion grabbed my heart and squeezed painfully. Was I...Jealous?

I shook my head fiercely. Jake Collins does not get jealous!

A pretty brunette walked by and I grabbed her shoulder and shoved her against the lockers, kissing her hard. She would make a good distraction. She let out a startled squeak and kissed me back. I heard Reece gag and walk away, leaving me alone in the abandoned hallway.

I groaned in her ear,

"Mindy..."

Mindy gasped and slapped me hard, her pedicured nails stinging my cheek.

"It's Madeline!"

She stormed off in a huff and I sighed and closed my eyes, holding a hand up to my stinging cheek.

"Jake...? What are you doing outside of class...?"

I lazily opened one eye and saw Adriana peering at me in confusion. I felt a sharp pang of guilt in my chest. I closed my eye again and leaned back agains the door.

"Nothin'."

"Oh."

I heard the swishing of clothes and felt a body really close to mine. I opened my eyes and saw Adriana sitting right next to me on the floor. She blinked up at me and smiled shyly.

"Are you ok?"

She looked so adorable all I wanted to do was kiss her. I found myself leaning forward slightly before stopping myself. I couldn't take the Bookworm's first kiss in the school hallway!

I smiled reassuringly at her and nodded. She smiled bigger back before rising to her feet. I found myself missing her warm. Adriana held out her hand and I took it. She hauled me to my feet and patted my shoulder.

She walked away and looked at me over my shoulder, gave me a breath-taking smile, then rushed off to her class. My heart skipped a beat.

What was happening to me? Why was a simple smile making my heart clench painfully? The entire time I was kissing Mindy I was thinking of her. I sighed and slapped my forehead. I muttered out loud,

"God what are you doing to me, Adriana?"
