Adriana P.O.V.
"Wow..."
I gawked up at the huge mansion looming over me. Jake chuckled and walked confidently up to the ridiculously large front doors. I snapped out of my daze and asked,
"Why would you need a house this big?"
Jake just shrugged and picked up my suitcase to take it inside. I followed silently. I didn't even want to breath funny on anything in this house because if I broke something I would probably have to work my whole life to pay it off.
"Welcome back, Master Jake."
"Can I get you anything, Mister Jake?"
"Welcome home sir, would you like to prepare you something to eat?"
I stared at the maids and butlers lined up by the door to greet Jake. He just waved them off and continued walking forward. I grumbled,
"How rude..."
I turned to line of maids and butlers and smiled at them. I went all the way down the line introducing myself and asking for their names, shaking the butler's hands. They all were looking at each other confused but they still gave me a polite smile and told me their name.
A loud snap from Jake made me jump.
"Alyssa, take Adriana's bag upstairs."
"Yes sir."
A pretty girl with dark skin and dark hair about sixteen bowed her head and stepped forward to take my bag. I quickly dodged in front of her and snatched my suitcase from Jake. He frowned at me and Alyssa looked confused. She stepped forward, her head bowed in respect, and held out her hand for my bag. I laughed and grabbed her hand, pulling her upstairs. Alyssa looked horrified and kept glancing back at Jake who looked slightly angry.
"Miss Layman, please let me take your luggage."

I felt annoyed but told her kindly,
"I'm strong I can carry my own bag. Jake was treating you like a slave."
Alyssa tilted her head slightly and I turned to look at her as we walked down the hallway. Her dark brown eyes were sad as she whispered,
"That's my job Miss Layman. Please, I will get in trouble."
She sounded so miserable I mutely handed her my suitcase. Alyssa looked relieved and said,
"If you would please follow me to your room Miss Layman."
She took me to a large light grey sweet. I gawked and spun around, trying to take it all in. Alyssa chuckled lightly and informed me,
"Ring the bell and I will come in and assist you. Your closet is fully stocked. If there is anything you might need do not hesitate."
As she turned to leave I lunged out and grabbed her hand. She looked startled and I smiled at her.
"You don't have to call me Miss Layman. Please call me Adriana."
Alyssa tilted her head then gave me a real genuine smile.
"Of course Miss La- I mean Adriana."
I giggled at her slip and Alyssa looked embarrassed. I asked,
"Why don't you come up to have dinner with me? I don't really want to eat by myself I would rather eat with my new friend."
The laughter in Alyssa eye's died quickly and she said dully,
"That is absolutely not allowed. Also you will be having dinner with Mister Jake."
She must have seen the hurt in my eyes cause she explained softly,
"That is against the ruled Adriana."
I sighed and ran my finger's through my hair. I will have to talk to Jake about that. Alyssa left the room and left me alone to explore. I opened a door and it led to a huge bathroom. There was a jacuzzi tub and a tall glassless shower. Everything was sleek and modern and random candles glowed on stands nailed to the walls. I closed the door and walked over to another door. I let out a thrilled squeal when I saw a huge walk-in closet the size of my apartment. Every inch of it was covered in shoes and clothes. A vanity sat in the corner for me to do my make-up. I ran over to it, enthralled, and saw it was fully stocked with every kind of make-up imaginable.

"Do you like it?"
I squeaked and whirled around to see a man in crisp suit standing in the middle of my closet. Where did he come from? He had a pleasant smile and warm brown eyes and his brown hair was neatly clipped and styled. He looked horrified for a second before doing a 90 degree bow.
"I am most terribly sorry! That was so terribly rude of me!"
He had a British accent that made me giggle. I walked over to him and grabbed his shoulder lightly. He tensed and I shoved him up to a standing position. I laughed and lightly punched his shoulder.
"It's fine you just startled me."
He nodded and gave me a goofy grin. He offered his hand, which I took, and said,
"Good afternoon, ma'am. I am Lucas Whitfield. Mistress Collins hired me to be your personal chauffeur, cook, stylist, planner, or anything else you might need."
I blinked in shock. I got my own personal butler. I felt a silly grin come across my face. I stood away from him and made my face as serious as I could.
"Well Mr. Lucas there are some rules. You are never to smile in my presence. You may not take care of yourself in my presence. And you will always personally wake me up at the given time."
Lucas bowed his head, his smile gone from his face, and nodded. I fought a giggle and placed a hand on his bowed head.
"And Mr. Lucas?"
"Yes Miss Layman?"
I leaned forward so I could whisper in his ear.
"Go make me a sandwich."
Lucas nearly fell over himself to run down to the kitchen to make a sandwich. His eyes were panicked when he ran back in. He dropped to one knee and presented me the sandwich, breathing heavily. I took one look at the sandwich before I collapsed in front him, laughing so hard hot tears squeezed out of my eyes. Lucas looked confused and I grabbed his knee, gasping. I laughed breathlessly,
"I was totally joking, Lucas."
A blush rose up on his cheeks and he looked away in embarrassment. I ruffled his hair and giggled,
"Thanks for the sandwich though."
His face was bright red now and he whispered,
"No problem Miss Layman. Can I do anything else for you?"
I frowned,
"Call me Adriana please."
Lucas nodded and walked out of the closet. I turned back and began to rummage through my clothes for something to wear to dinner with Jake.
