《PAINTER'S MODEL》20: PRESENT

Clang! Clang!

The sound of keys hitting against the metal bars of prison cells fall upon the once quiet hallway.

Upon hearing the familiar sound, each cell's occupants are fed up with wild groans and shouts,

All except for one.

Located beside the last cell sat Calvin on the bunk bed. Despite there being two beds, he was alone as the guards won't allow him to have a cellmate.

"Hello, Calvin." The guard spat.

He received no response in return.

"How you doin'?" The man with curly hair in a security uniform questioned.

No response, at all.

A punch was thrown against the metal bars, creating a loud noise. "Calvin!"

Still, no response.

"Silent treatment, aye?" The guard spits on the floor. "Alright." He walks away, knowing the artist wouldn't budge.

The platinum-blonde-haired man in the prison cell glared at the heels of the shoes of the guard. His head was down and his limbs won't move.

His piercing gaze and growl is the only thing that came out of him.

"Ugly ass shoes." He clicked his tongue.

. . .

"–Ranked as number one among world artists is Calvin Doris, who will now stay behind bars for the next ten years." The news reporter stated. The exterior of the city prison could be seen behind her.

"A commotion happened a week ago where the wife of Mr. Doris was seen hanging off a rooftop bar. Security footage reveals the artist pushing his wife down, with which Mrs. Doris managed to only grab around the edge to not fall down."

A slightly saturated CCTV footage is shown on the screen.

"The footage also shows that Calvin appears to be drawing Mrs. Doris while she is almost on the verge of her death. Luckily, a bystander called an emergency hotline and they arrived minutes before Mrs. Doris' supposed death." The reporter narrated.

"The sudden public act of the artist has shocked and led to panic among bystanders," The camera moved towards a person who goes by the name of 'June Day' as displayed in the headlines.

"I was a very big fan of Calvin Doris' artworks but I'm not so sure what to say about him now. I honestly thought he's a serious guy, a gentleman-sort-of-guy, but his recent behavior says otherwise." One of the bystanders said with her eyebrows furrowed. She curled her hair that's dyed in red as she bit her lip.

"I don't think I could call myself a fan of him anymore." She continued.

The camera then moved back towards the news reporter.

"After multiple interviews and investigations, there were pieces of evidence that show how Calvin is also charged with more crimes," she continued.

"Mrs. Doris has revealed how Calvin used to touch her inappropriately and forces her to not leave his house by forcing her on a shock collar. "

The screen then shows your red, puffy face.

"It happened after the funeral of my boyfriend. He just drove me to his house and I wasn't that aware of it because I was thinking about my boyfriend's death." You wiped your tears with a handkerchief.

"Days later, he forced me to marry him, because if I don't, he wouldn't allow me to go outside."

Then the screen moves back towards the news reporter. "Additional evidence reveals that Calvin Doris has hired a group of people to murder the family of Lois Jean, the previous boyfriend of Ms. (Y/N), who is now currently dead due to suicide."

. . .

"Such a sight, isn't it darling?"

The stars and the dark orange sky were beautiful indeed. You could see buildings and cars beginning to light up as the sun continues to lower down.

And soon, that bright yellow ball isn't visible anymore.

A tanned hand from behind, grips around your jaw and forces you to look down. "Look,"

"It's so high..." A familiar chuckle came out of him.

A whish of a paper was heard from beside you. A small paper flew along with the wind.

You were able to take a glimpse of it. A drawing of your shocked writhed face. Your body dangles off the edge with only your hands to hold onto so you won't fall into the pavement where the bustling streets are located.

It was memorable.

And then, it began to fly away from your sight,

Along with the strong wind.

You sighed.

"Lois?"

You caught sight of the man who always wears a Nikon Camera around his neck. You were usually greeted with a cheeky smile of his, but this time, it was a frown.

"It's a wonderful sight, right?" His lips never curved up nor down.

He slowly brought up his camera, "Let's take one final shot of you, (Y/N). It'll serve as a memory."

"Final?" Your eyebrows furrowed.

"Final."

Your mother and father's voice said in unison. You startled.

"Ma?" Your eyes were beginning to water. "What do you mean?"

"It is what you think it is, (Y/N)." Calvin bestowed himself upon you. "Goodbye, darling."

You could finally hear the sound of wind rapidly moving past your ears. A crowd from below you scream altogether. Each of them had different tones, creating harmony.

The last thing you saw was the photo of yourself, standing in front of one of Calvin Doris' famous paintings: Saturn.

You remembered posing in front of it and Lois taking that photo.

What a memorable moment that is.

That piece of glossy paper fell with you, along with the wind.

And finally, everything, everyone, and you, yourself, are gone.
