I'm not afraid to look insane, cause I'm crazy about you

-Charlie Puth

"I'll drive you back home." Theo said as we drove to uni. His hand was on my knee, making that part of my body tingle. He glanced at me from the corner of his eye.

"Do you like being my personal driver?" I asked him, making sure to look serious.

"I can be anything, as long as it involves you. Driver, chef, your sex s-"

I put my hand on his mouth before he could complete his sentence. My eyes were wide open as his green orbs laughed at me. I was about to pull my hand away when I felt something slick and wet slide against my palm.

"Ew did you just lick my palm?"

"I did." He looked so proud of himself as if he'd just won a lottery. "And I would do it again."

He pushed me to his side when we reached uni and got out of the car, tucking me in. His delicious scent reached my nose and I looked up at him, making sure he wasn't looking at me, and took a deep whiff. My phone rang at the same time.

"Uncle Mason, is everything alright?"

"I'm leaving for a couple of days. It's something work related. I assume you can find yourself a place to stay."

I found Theo swinging his head up and down, looking at me with big eyes like a child who'd just found a cookie. I giggled. "Yes, I can."

"You can come home to grab your stuff. Though I think I'll be back in a couple of days. I'll talk more on text." He said.

"Alright, have a safe journey."

"I will. And you be safe. Use protection-"

I gasped and ended the phone before he could utter another word. Theo chuckled beside me. "Well, you can't blame him he's just looking after you."

I glared at him when he didn't stop laughing at me. He walked me to my class even when I protested that he was getting late for his own. I kissed his cheek and turned around, only for him to pull me back.

"Kiss me properly." He puckered his lips. I giggled and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. He smiled, kissing my forehead.

And then he stiffened. "What the fuck is he doing here?"

I turned around to find Noah in my class, which wasn't a surprise because he used to take the same classes as me, but now that was a problem. His eyes were already on me, glaring at Theo, but when he met mine they softened a bit. I held Theo's waist, burying my face in his neck, pressing a kiss. "It's okay."

"No, nothing about this is fucking okay." His fists clenched at his sides. I put my hands on his and unclenched them. "I didn't do anything because of the team thing, Mia. But I swear if he keeps on begging for your attention like this it would be his face and my fist the next time."

"Theo, I won't even talk to him. I promise."

"There is no way you're going in there after he kissed you. There is no way I'm letting you be in the same room as him without me. I trust you but I don't trust him."

"Ethan is going to be there." I said brightly.

His smoldering eyes met mine. "Who the fucking hell is he?"

"He's my friend." I replied, raising my chin. "And you will not ask me to stay away from him or not talk to him because-"

"I won't ever ask you to not talk to a guy because of me." He said. "Because that's your choice. And I'm not a controlling boyfriend, I understand you have a life apart from me."

He grasped my chin and pushed his lips on mine. His hands grabbed my hips, pulling me closer than ever. He devoured my mouth, letting his hands rest on my ass and squeeze slightly. I gasped in his mouth. "Theo-"

"I'm telling him that you're mine." He said.

I plunged my hands in his hair, tugging at the roots, making him groan. My hands traced his chest, his perfect abs, and I whispered against his mouth, "You're mine."

He pulled away slightly. "Isn't that him? Eth-uh, your friend?"

Sure enough, Ethan was making his way over to class. I slightly turned to his side, and his eyes met mine, going behind to my boyfriend's figure. He looked at me again and wiggled his eyebrows. My eyes widened when I felt Theo slip away from my grasp and make his way over to Ethan.

Oh fuck, this cannot be good.

Ethan raised an eyebrow at him, stopping in his steps. I ran towards them, trying to pull Theo away. He didn't budge.

"My girl tells me you're a good friend of hers." He said and stopped in his tracks. I collided in his back, glaring at it, then standing beside Theo, grasping his arm and trying to pull him away again.

"I don't know what your point is." Ethan replied to him sassily.

"There's a guy in your class who tried to kiss her the other day."

My eyes widened, and Ethan's did as well. We both were in the same situation, not really understanding why he was saying this.

"And I don't trust him around her." He finished. "I know she's capable enough to look after herself, but I need someone to be there with her when I can't. Can I trust you?"

I opened my mouth, seeming to be at a loss of words. Never in a million years had I ever thought Theo would do this. And then there was sheer happiness and along with that a tremendous amount of pride for him. He was doing his best to change, I knew it was difficult for him to accept my friendship with a guy, but he was trying and I was proud of him.

"I won't let him near her, man." Ethan replied, a small smile on his lips. "I promise you."

"And I'm sorry for the way I'd talked to you the other day. I was rude to you without any reason." My boyfriend clasped his hand in mine. I gave it a squeeze, trying to tell him how much I appreciated him.

"It's all cool, I understand."

"Come on."

"It's true. They legit did it, I saw it with my own eyes. He scored six boundaries in six balls and made a total of thirty six runs and won the match." He said.

"That's terrific bro. Real terrific." I said, shaking my head.

I saw Mia get out of the class, her face radiant with the smile she was wearing. She clutched her books tightly against her chest, talking to a girl. She glowed as she walked down towards the fields, towards me.

"You know I used to think she's just another girl." Ethan said, looking at me. "But I can see the way you're looking at her and I know she isn't just some girl to you."

"She's everything to me." My ears didn't even register what I was saying because I was too busy gawking at my angel.

When her face whipped to me, her smile widened, but then dropped when she saw the person beside me. She raised an eyebrow, making her way over, shaking her head, fighting back her smile.

"I didn't know you two had become best friends." She said.

"Best what?" We both said at the same time. "We're not best friends."

She giggled. "Sure."

I grabbed her waist and pulled her to me, pressing down a kiss on her lips.

"Seriously dude? Was that really necessary?" Ethan grumbled.

"Yes. Her lips looked achingly kissable." I replied.

He groaned and made a disgusting face. "I'll leave you two to it. I'll see you both later."

When he left, Mia stood on her toes, still reaching only my nose. Her arms came around my neck my eyes didn't leave her lips as she spoke. "I'm glad you both are getting along."

"He's alright." I shrugged. "Much better than I what I had expected him to be. And he's your friend, so I have to get along with him."

I dropped her home. She wanted to pack some stuff up before she came to the penthouse, so I drove to my parent's place for that time. Oscar jumped on me the second I entered, and I chuckled, rubbing him behind the ear.

"He has been missing you." My mother commented as I gave her a kiss on the forehead.

"He loves me more than he loves anyone in the house. It's a pity you won't let me take him to the penthouse."

"That flat is empty most of the time because you and your brother intrude here."

"Intrude?" I gasped dramatically, placing a hand on my chest. "You wound me."

"So what are your plans for the day?" She asked, handing me a knife. "Chop the garlic."

"Well," I sat down on the bar stool, bringing the chopping board with me. "I'm spending the day and the next few with Mia. Her uncle's leaving town so she's staying with me."

"I can see your insides dancing." Ma said and chuckled. "She's got you wrapped around her finger."

"Yeah, well I don't mind." I replied.

"Of course you don't. You love her."

I froze. My hand which was holding the knife stopped mid way. I opened my mouth, nothing but a puff of air leaving. "W-what?"

"What what? Don't act as if you don't know." When I didn't say anything, she stopped whatever she was doing, turned off the flame and turned around to look at me.

"I-I uh, I d-don't." I stuttered. I was sure my face was ashen white right now. I didn't even know what I was denying. I didn't even know what the fuck I was saying. My head was in circles, confusion swirling around.

"Let me ask you something. Can you imagine a life where she's not there?" She asked.

"No." Was my immediate response.

"Can you imagine a life where you're not romantically involved with her?"

"I want her to be happy. I would do anything to make her happy. But if she's not happy with me, I would never force her to continue being with me. I will fight for her but ultimately it's her choice."

"I cannot give you a perfect definition of love, honey." Ma smiled softly. "Everyone experiences love in their own way. But what I can tell you, being your mother, I know you're the happiest when you're with her. I know she brings out the best in you. I know you wake up everyday with a smile because you know she is with you. I see the way you look at her. So let me ask you a last question."

I took a deep breath.

"Do you love her, Theo?"

I will always catch you.

You're everything.

Angel.

"I do." I found myself saying. "I love her, I do."

"There you go."

"Holy fuck-"

"Language!"

"I love her, Ma. Holy fuck. Holy fuck. Fuck-"

"Why does that word always comes first in your dictionary? You say that when you're happy and when you're angry and sad and frustrated and-"

"FUCK! I love her. I love Mia." I stood up from the stool suddenly, toppling it down in the process.

I could see my mother trying to stifle her laughter at my reaction. I was legit acting like a psychopath, repeating the same thing again and again. I was trying to wrap my head around the fact that I loved her. She silently picked up the stool, while I ran a hand through my hair, tugging at its roots.

"What the fuck am I supposed to do now?" I asked, pacing back and forth. I was panicking, I didn't know why.

"You tell her."

I froze, whipping my head to look at her. "No! I can't do that. It'll blow everything up."

"How will it blow everything up?"

"I don't know." I started pacing again. "She doesn't feel the same way. I know she doesn't."

"A minute ago you didn't even know how you felt, honey. How the hell can you know what she feels? Maybe she's hesitant to tell you. You should tell her."

"I-I-I don't know." I was shaking. I was confused. I was afraid and alarmed and extremely panic stricken. I didn't know what to do.

"You'll figure it out, Theo." My mother smiled softly at me, her expression full of confidence, not an ounce of worry reflected on her face. "You always do."
