《Ice cream, Teasing and Awkward Situations》Chapter 64

"Ethan, let me get this straight, you kidnapped me, so you could take me to a fucking McDonalds drive-through," I scoffed looking at him in disbelief.

"I mean, I like McDonald's as much as the next person, but I'd hardly call it a romantic date."

"How did I kidnap you? I asked you to come and you got into the car willingly," he argued.

"I beg to differ," I interrupted. "You used the promise of food, to coerce me into the car, which is a form of manipulation," I snapped.

He just sighed and ignored me. "And, secondly, this is only the first stop, we're going somewhere else after," Ethan said as he rolled his eyes at me.

"Which is...," I sang, looking up at him expectantly.

"Not telling you..." he sang back, imitating me.

Ethan rolled down the window of his car as he approached the drive-through window. He cleared his throat. "Can I have two chicken nugget meals, two Smartie McFlurries, and a coke and water," Ethan called out to the guy at the window without even bothering to consult with me.

I looked at him angrily, about to yell at him for ordering for me, but then I stopped. He had gotten my order exactly right.

"Wait, how do you know what I order?" I asked in confusion.

He let out a low chuckle and turned to face me. "Because I pay attention to everything when it concerns you," he winked flirtatiously.

I narrowed my eyes. "That seems hard to believe," I scoffed. "What's my favorite TV program, then?" I snapped.

"Vampire Diaries," he said quickly without missing a beat.

"Well, that one was obvious, so whatever. What's my biggest pet peeve?" I fired out.

"Easy, people stealing your food," he responded easily.

I shook my head at him. "Typically, you know I hate that the most, yet you do that all the time," I grumbled angrily.

"I can't help it, it's fun to wind you up," he laughed.

"I can't help it, it's fun to wind you up," I childishly intimidated in a ridiculously low-pitched voice.

"We need to work on your impressions, Chubs, you didn't capture the sexiness of my voice in the slightest," he smiled.

He dug out his wallet, fished out some money and handed it over to the worker, who exchanged it for our McDonald's bag.

"Whatever, just drive," I said as I rolled my eyes.

"Firstly, you must put this over your eyes," Ethan smiled as he rummaged through his car pocket and pulled out a scarf.

"I feel like an idiot, please tell me we're not in public," I groaned.

Ethan was leading me somewhere outside, and I couldn't see a damn thing as there was a scarf wrapped tightly over my eyes.

"Relax, we're alone," he chuckled as he continued to drag me along, with his hand clasped firmly in mine.

I let out a squeal as I tripped on something on the floor. Ethan quickly put a hand around my waist to steady me before I hit the ground.

"You're so clumsy," he snorted.

"Don't be mean, it's harder than it looks," I whined as I shuffled along slowly, feeling frightened of falling again.

Ethan let out a sigh and moved closer to me. He wrapped an arm around me, and I squeaked in surprise as he suddenly lifted me up into arms, so he was carrying me bridle-style.

"Sorry, Chubs, but I was hoping to get there at some point today," he laughed.

I shrugged and wrapped my arms around his neck. "I'm cool with it, I like being carried," I smirked, not minding being off my feet one bit. Plus, I quite liked the feeling of his arms wrapped around me.

Finally, after a few more minutes of walking, or well him carrying me, he seemed to make it to his desired location. He put me down on the ground gently.

"Okay, we're here. You can take your blindfold off," Ethan said in an excited tone.

"Finally," I sighed as I pulled the scarf away from my face.

I gasped as I took in the sight before me. Ethan had taken me to his special cliff spot, the one which had an extraordinary view that overlooked the city, but he had made some new touches to it.

He had decorated the trees that lined the area with brightly illuminating fairy lights and lanterns, which set against the dark night, made the area look incredibly enchanting and romantic. Looking on the floor, I saw he had scattered out rose petals on a picnic blanket, and there were pillows for us to lie down on.

Finally, I turned to face Ethan and found him staring at me shyly as he waited for me to say something.

"So, what do you think?" he asked with a nervous laugh.

A massive smile stretched out onto my face. "It's amazing, Ethan, I love it. This must have taken you forever," I said, still looking around in disbelief.

He smiled softly. "It did, but I really fancy the girl I did it for, so it was worth it," he said with a teasing smirk.

I inched my way closer to him. "Really. Who is this girl? Do I know her?" I said playing along.

He chuckled and grabbed my waist to pull me closer. He was staring at me intensely, causing butterflies to erupt in my stomach.

"Yeah, she's beautiful, smart, and sexy," he swallowed as his eye dropped down to my lips.

"What else?" I whispered as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

He smirked. "She's also a really amazing kisser," he whispered huskily as his minty breath brushed teasingly across my lips.

I couldn't resist any longer and captured his lips with mine. He smirked against my lips and tightened his hold around my waist, so my body pushed flush up against him. I groaned as our lips moved passionately against each other, the feeling causing every nerve in my body to spark with electricity.

He pulled back with a groan. "Our ice-cream is melting," he whispered against my lips.

I groaned and gave him one final peck on the lips before breaking away.

"Good point. We'll pick this up later," I smirked.

An hour later, we were both satisfied after finishing our meals and now lay side by side on the picnic blanket. We were looking up at the beautiful night sky, enjoying the comfort of each other's silent company.

"Hey, Chubs. Can I ask you something?" he asked softly, flipping on his side to face me.

"Yeah, sure," I said as I propped my head up on my hand with my elbow rested on ground.

"Just out of curiosity, when did you realize you loved me," he asked boldly. I looked at him in surprise before I paused and started to think.

"Well, I first realized I had a thing for you when we played seven minutes of heaven, but I realized I loved you when you brought me here, and told me everything," I said as I smiled at the memory.

After that night, I understood Ethan a lot better. All his previous actions that I used to deem so evil started to make a lot more sense.

I guess it shows you shouldn't judge people when you don't know the whole story.

Ethan looked at me with a smirk. "You realized you had a thing for me in 7 minutes of heaven, huh? That hickey must have left you feeling some kind of way," he teased as he waggled his eyebrows.

I blushed in embarrassment. "Shut up, don't be mean," I said as I smacked him lightly on the shoulder.

"Do you want to know a secret about that night," he said as a mischievous glint sparkled in his eyes.

I narrowed my eyes. "Why? What did you do?" I asked in suspicion.

"Promise you won't get mad," he said.

"Well, that depends what it...," I said slowly, not wanting to make a promise that I couldn't keep.

He let out a heavy sigh, "I might have purposely rigged the seven minutes in heaven game. It wasn't by chance that we were matched together, I set it up," Ethan chuckled, as he scratched the back of his neck awkwardly.

I gasped. "You little cheater," I said pointing at him in accusation, but I was far more amused than angry.

"Sorry, but did you really think I was going to let you play that game unless I could guarantee you'd end up with me," Ethan snorted.

I shook my head at him in shame. "You're lucky, I like you now otherwise I would beat the shit out of you, right now," I sighed, as my eyes sparkled with amusement.

"Yeah, I know, I'm lucky," he said as he looked up at me with a genuine smile. His eyes roaming softly over my face. "It's literally a miracle that you love me back," he said in a serious tone.

"Especially after dragging you into my crap with Connor," he said with a heavy sigh as he looked away from me in guilt.

"Look at me, Ethan," I said gently. He hesitantly lifted his eyes back up to meet mine. They were full of sadness. I reached out and traced my fingers softly over his cheek.

"It wasn't your fault Ethan. You have no control over the way he acts. Only he does. And it would take a hell of a lot more than your cousin, for me to ever stop loving you, Ethan. You're stuck with me now, okay. Get used to it," I said with a fiery passion in my eyes.

The corners of his mouth lifted into a smile, and his eyes softened. "You're a pretty awesome person to be stuck with, Chubs," he whispered, his eyes fanning over my face.

He inched his way closer to me. "Yeah, I know," I smirked as I leaned in and kissed him.

If someone had told me at the beginning of this school year that I would fall madly in love with my mortal enemy since middle school - Ethan Blythe. I would probably have pretended to dry heave violently into a toilet. Yet here I lay underneath the beautiful night-lit sky with his arms wrapped tightly wrapped around me and his lips pressed firmly against mine.

The End.
