《Ice cream, Teasing and Awkward Situations》Chapter 49

Ethan and I had finished our hike and had decided to go hang out at the cabin. We seemed to be the first group to finish as nobody else was around.
"I'm so hungry, they barely feed us at this stupid place," I sighed as I flopped down onto the sofa dramatically.
Ethan chuckled and took a seat beside me. "How do you think I feel? You stole half my lunch, little miss greedy pants," he teased.
I crossed my arms angrily. "It's your fault for eating so slow, I was just trying to teach you a lesson on the importance of eating fast," I said defensively.
He raised his eyebrows in amusement. "Excellent, I'll keep that in mind the next time you're eating slowly," he said with a cheeky grin.
I gave him a nasty glare. "You'd be instantly dead to me," I snapped.
"Really, now?" he said as his eyes sparkled in interest.
"Yes," I stated confidently.
"I'm not sure about that. I can think of a million, wonderful ways I could make it up to you," he whispered suggestively as he shuffled closer to me on the sofa.
I ignored the flutter in my stomach. "I'm not that easily seduced Ethan," I snapped as I rolled my eyes at him.
He chuckled and leaned even closer to me, so he had me cornering me up against the armrest. I swallowed nervously as I breathed in his mind-numbingly good scent.
"What if I was to do this?" he whispered gruffly as he placed a sweet kiss underneath my ear, "And this," he smirked as he kissed my cheek. "Or maybe even this," he said teasingly as he pressed his lips against the corner of my mouth.
He was now nearly completely on top of me and was supporting his weight on the arms. "Would you still be mad?" he whispered smoothly, his minty breath brushing against my lips.
I could barely think straight with him so close, and my mind felt all fuzzy and confused. I couldn't remember for the life of me what the fuck we were talking about.
"I...er...I don't...ugh... just shut up and kiss me already," I groaned in frustration.
The corners of his eyes crinkled in amusement as he looked down at me. "As you wish Chubs," he whispered as his eyes dropped down to my lips, and he closed the distance between us.
"Yo, Yo, yo, Anyone home?" an obnoxiously loud voice yelled.
Ethan and I both jumped in shock at the sound of the booming voice. Before we had time to move, the cabin door swung open, and Lucas and May walked in. Their eyes widened, and their jaws dropped as they took in the sight of us.

I'm guessing we looked quite the sight since Ethan was still on top of me, and our faces were centimeters apart.
"Holy fucking shit," May yelled as she dropped her bag on the floor overdramatically.
This drove me into action, and I immediately shoved Ethan off me. I cleared my throat awkwardly and adjusted myself quickly, so I was sitting up properly.
I gave them a friendly smile. "Hey guys, how was the hike?" I asked coolly in an attempt to re-direct the attention off of us.
"Forget the fucking hike. What the hell is happening here?" Lucas said as quirked an eyebrow up in amusement.
Then the door opened for a second time, and Chloe and April sauntered in. "What's going on?" Chloe asked as she looked around at everyone in confusion.
For fuck's sake, why did everyone decide to come back at the same time?
"Well, we just walked into the cabin and found Ethan and Mia about to suck each other's faces off," May stated matter of factly.
Chloe let out a high-pitched squeal and started to jump up and down. "Oh my god, finally," Chloe squealed.
I groaned and buried my head in my hands, feeling incredibly embarrassed. They were making it so obvious how much I talked about him. I didn't dare look in Ethan's direction.
"Okay, guy's stop, you're making Mia embarrassed," Ethan chuckled, sounding far more amused by this whole ordeal than me.
Hesitantly, I lifted my head up and instantly regretted it when I saw the sly looks everyone was giving me. Well, everyone except April, she looked a little pissed.
"Wait, so just to confirm, you guys are actually, together, right?" Lucas said slowly with narrowed eyes.
"Yup," Ethan replied confidently with a wide, toothy grin on his face.
"Yeah, I'm going to need confirmation from you too, Mia. I don't trust Ethan, he can be a little delusional at the best of times," Lucas stated flatly.
"No Lucas, Ethan's not lying," I said as I rolled my eyes at him.
Lucas' face then warped into an excited grin. "Finally, I have so much tea to spill," Lucas said happily, as he bounced over to us and squeezing his butt into the minimal space in-between us.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Ethan asked as he looked at Lucas in suspicion.
"Well, I just though dear Mia here deserves to know all the embarrassing shit you've said about her, over the years," Lucas chuckled with an evil smirk.
The blood drained from Ethan's face. "No. No. No. Shut up. You can't Lucas, don't do this to me," Ethan stuttered out desperately.
"Ethan, don't beg honey, it's not cute," Lucas said as he patted Ethan on the knee in pity.

My interest had definitely peaked. "I'd love to hear what Ethan's been saying, please continue," I said as he leaned forward on my elbows in intrigue.
"Where should I start...," he said as he rubbed his chin.
"Oh, I know your first kiss. He called me straight away, you know. The poor guy sounded so excited over the phone, I was one-hundred percent sure he must have wet his pants," Lucas snorted.
"Did he now?" I smiled as I looked over at a very red-faced Ethan.
"Yeah, he kept saying stuff like, 'It was so much better than I imagined,' 'I can't believe she kissed me back',' Do you think she likes me,'" Lucas said as he impersonated Ethan in an overly deep voice.
I couldn't help myself, and I threw my head back and laughed.
Lucas smiled and opened his mouth to continue. "And oh my god, there was also this time-"
"Okay, that's enough," Ethan interrupted quickly.
"But I was just getting to the best part," Lucas pouted.
"Well, I could always share with May a few stories of my own, if you'd like?" Ethan said warningly as his eyebrows up in challenge.
Lucas paused as though he was considering the implications of Ethan's words.
"Well, looks like storytime is over, I guess," Lucas said as he abruptly rose to his feet.
He rushed over to May and grabbed her by the arm, and hastily dragged her away to their room. I assumed he wanted her away from Ethan, so he wouldn't blab on him for revenge.
I turned my head to glare at Ethan. "You're so annoying, I wanted to hear that," I spat as I crossed my arms in anger.
"Well, sorry, I'm not sure If I'd have any balls left by the end of his little speech," he scoffed.
"Aww you guys are adorable, you're like an old married couple," Chloe cooed.
I raised my eyebrows at her. "He literally just mentioned his balls. Not a typical old people convo, if you ask me," I drily retorted.
"Hey Mia, could I talk to you outside quickly?" April asked abruptly.
I looked over at her. "Yeah sure, of course," I said in surprise. I was curious about what she wanted to talk about, we weren't exactly close.
I tried to get up off the sofa but was restrained by Ethan, who had quickly wrapped an arm around my waist.
"What?" I said as I looked down at him in confusion.
"Goodbye kiss?" He smirked.
"I'm only going outside for two seconds, you idiot, but whatever I'll humor you," I smiled as I leaned down and pecked him on the lips. This seemed to satisfy him, and he finally let me go.
I quickly jogged up to the door where April was waiting for me. She eyed me up and down with a pursed-lip before turning on her heel. I followed her out the door, and around the cabin until we reached a fairly secluded area by the edge of the forest.
Finally, she stopped and spun around to face me.
I smiled at her. "What's going on, what did you want to talk about?" I asked.
She gave me a weird tight-lipped smile before she swung back her hand fast and gave me a sharp slap across the cheek.
I gasped in shock as I felt the impact. "What the actual fuck?" I yelled in surprise, as I placed a hand over my stinging cheek.
I looked up at her, feeling more confused than angry. Her normally cheerful preppy face had soured, and the only expression she held was hatred.
"Listen here bitch. Ethan is mine," she spat.
"Wait, that's what this is about? This is about Ethan?" I asked in confusion as I tried to make sense of whatever the hell was happening.
"Obviously, you idiot," she snapped rudely.
"You know I'm not oblivious like you Mia, I always knew Ethan liked you, but I was never worried. You want to know why? Because you hated him, Mia, and you were supposed to go on hating him. I've liked him for years, and he's never giving me the time of day but you, on the other hand, you just show him a mere five seconds of your attention, and he's all over you. How is that fair, Mia? How?" she yelled angrily.
I wanted to yell at her, and tell her she was a controlling bitch, scream at her for slapping me, but I didn't.
Underneath all her anger, I could see the hurt in her eyes.
I let out a heavy sigh. "Look, I'm sorry that you're hurt April, but I'm not responsible for the way he feels. Sometimes people just like who they like, and there's nothing we can do about it. It doesn't necessarily mean there's anything wrong with you or right with me. There are probably a million people out there who would like you, April. Ethan is just not one of them," I explained softly.
She stared at me for a long time, and the frown on her face slowly faded as though my words were slowly resonating with her. Then, just like that, her face hardened.
"I suppose that's what you want me to believe, isn't it?" she snapped as she took a step closer to me.
"I can get anyone to like me, especially Ethan. I'll get him to sleep with me before the year is out, that's a promise," she smirked.
Then with that final word, she spun on her heel and confidently sashayed away from me.
