《Ice cream, Teasing and Awkward Situations》Chapter 13

"I'm so exhausted," May said breathing deeply.
After dancing for so long, we had decided to take a much-needed break. We had luckily managed to nab a seat on one of the sofas.
"Yeah, they really shouldn't have played all the best songs in a row like that." I sighed, as I recollected the last half-an-hour we had spent dancing.
April, who I hadn't seen for a while now, popped her head in between us. I almost jumped out of my seat not expecting her to just show up so abruptly.
"Hey there April..." said Chloe slurring her speech as she reached out to stroke April's face. She was getting a little tipsy after her consistent trips back to the kitchen, to get more alcohol.
"Sorry, she's a little drunk," I said feeling embarrassed by the way she was acting.
"Don't be, there's no harm in getting a little tipsy," she said dismissively. "Anyway, I was just wondering if you guys wanted to come down to the basement to play a few games with me and a few others?" April asked chirpily.
"Yeah sure. Let's go guys," May said clambering to her feet in excitement.
Reluctantly, I got up to follow her, but Chloe remained firmly in her seat.
"Nah, I'm good. You guys go ahead. I'll just stay here and take a nap," she said messily waving her hand around, indicating for us to go ahead.
I was a bit nervous to leave her alone as there was no telling what she could do when drunk. However, she looked so tired that it hardly seemed like she could get into much trouble, so I decided to let her be.
"Okay see you later. Don't do anything I wouldn't do," I said pointing a finger at her in warning. I then quickly skipped away to catch up with the others.
Once we were in the basement, April demanded we all get in a circle. I complied and sat on the floor next to May and some random dude with strangely colored auburn hair. Looking around, I spotted Ben a couple of spaces across from me who gave me a little friendly wave, upon us making eye contact.
Continuing my scan for familiar faces, my eyes stumbled upon Ethan.
How was this guy everywhere?
He barely seemed to notice that I was here, and continued with whatever conversation he was having with Lucas. I didn't recognize anyone else apart from that. Everyone else were just various people from school, that I never conversed with.
"So, now that enough people are gathered, we can start. We're going to be playing a game of Truth and Dare." April said, clapping her hands together in an overly excited manner.
She then downed the bottle of beer in her hand before placing it into the middle of the circle. I raised my eyebrows in amusement, as I watched her squeeze into a non-existent space beside Ethan. He shifted uncomfortably and pushed himself further against Lucas so he could increase the distance between the two of them.

Well, that was odd. Why wouldn't a teenage boy like himself, want to have a hot girl like April squished up against their side?
"Okay, who wants to spin first?" April asked as she scanned around the circle for any volunteers.
"Me. Me. Me," May said almost jumping out of her seat comically. I looked away, feeling ashamed that my friend was acting like a toddler on a sugar rush.
May didn't even wait for April to respond, and immediately crawled into the middle of the circle and gave it a whirl. I watched the bottle with narrowed eyes. It spun around at a dizzying speed, which only seemed to add to my anxiousness.
Finally, the bottle stopped on Lucas. I let out a shaky sigh of relief, happy it wasn't pointing anywhere near me. May turned to face Lucas, her eyes alight with a mischievous twinkle.
"Truth or Dare?" May said in a suspiciously calm voice. Knowing her well, I knew this screamed of her sinister intent. I internally started to pray for Lucas, knowing the things May came out with were usually beyond cruel. She was after all the one to dare me to break into Ethan's house.
"Dare," Lucas said, returning May's look, with an equally challenging expression of his own. This immediately confirmed to me he was an idiot.
You should never underestimate May!
May chuckled, as though she found Lucas's foolish bravery, something of amusement. "Okay, Mr daredevil. Swap clothes with me for the rest of the game," she smirked.
I watched as the expression on Lucas's face went from smug to devastated in a matter of 3 seconds.
"Shit, I should have got with truth," Lucas groaned, as his face dripped with regret.
I observed May attire and saw she was wearing a short black playsuit.
This was going to be very interesting.
Ethan upon seeing Lucas's expression started howling with laughter and struggled to breathe as he gasped for air.
"Shut the fuck up Ethan," Lucas said with a bitter scowl on his face.
Reluctantly, he followed May to the bathroom to change. After about 10 minutes, they returned to the circle, and the moment I saw Lucas I completely lost my shit. He had just about managed to squeeze the little playsuit onto his ginormous torso, and it looked like it could rip at any moment. I hope May didn't like that playsuit that much because I think it was about to have a sudden death with him stretching it out.
May looked alright wearing his clothes, they were just a little too big on her. She had rolled up the ends of the clothes so they could fit her and to be honest, she kind of looked cute in them. Lucas, on the other hand, looked like an idiot.

Wanting to remember this moment forever, I whipped out my phone as quickly as I could and hastily swiped my way over to the camera app before snapping a picture. It was accidentally on flash, so it caught Lucas's eye almost immediately and a panicked look crossed over his face.
"Delete it now Mia." He yelled as he started to storm his way over to me.
I just laughed at him before quickly shoving my phone into my bra for safekeeping. He wasn't exactly going to tackle me for it out of there. He would look like a pervert.
Lucas rolled his eyes and backed off. "Screw you, Mia. I thought we were friends," Lucas said sulkily as he slowly descended back into his space.
May high-fived me as she sat back down in her place. She smirked triumphantly over at Lucas who had an incredibly glum expression on his face.
As it was Lucas's turn to spin, he leaned into the middle of the circle and spun the bottle with the flick of his wrist. I watched the blurry green object spin around with mild interest, wondering which sucker it would land on next. When it was finished spinning, I followed the tip along. It was pointing at me.
Shit.
I looked up at Lucas, and gave him an awkward smile, hoping this would somehow convince him to have mercy on me.
"I bet you wish you were nicer to me now. Don't you?" he taunted, as his mouth stretched out into a smug grin.
I tried to take his threat seriously, but it was incredibly hard to do with him still wearing his little outfit.
"Truth or dare Mia?" Lucas spat spitefully.
"Truth," I replied almost immediately. I wasn't stupid, if I said dare, he would make me do something awful.
Truth was incredibly safe, I had absolutely nothing to hide.
"Okay fine, I've got a good one. Which guy in the room, besides me of course, do you think is the most attractive?" Lucas asked beaming at me with an evil grin. He knew how awkward of a question that was to answer in front of everyone.
It wasn't a difficult question; I knew it straight away. Ethan Blythe.
However, whether I was willing to admit that or not was another matter.
"I hate you," I grumbled glaring at Lucas spitefully for putting me in on the spot. I was starting to see why he was such good friends with Ethan, they both liked to torment me.
Ethan who had been pretty resilient in avoiding my gaze throughout the whole game so far was finally looking at me. He looked genuinely interested in my answer for some reason. The weight of his gaze seemed to intensify the stress I was feeling even more.
"I...er...I...." I stuttered like an idiot, as I racked my brain to try and think of a safe, answer to his question.
Just pick a name, Mia. Just say literally any name.
"Hurry up Mia, spit it out," Lucas said with a taunting smirk, as he tried to provoke me. I couldn't take the heat anymore, and my eyes darted around in panic.
"OKAY, FINE IT'S ETHAN." I blurted out before I could stop myself. As soon as the words passed through my lips, my eyes widened in horror.
What the fuck had I just done?
I snapped my head to face Ethan so fast I almost got whiplash. I expected to see him laughing or at least smirking, but he was just staring at me in absolute astonishment. He looked arguably more shocked by what I said than I did.
"Well, this is awkward..." Lucas snickered, intensifying the humiliating I was feeling by a million.
I heard a few snickers at his comment and I kinda wanted to die. I tried my best to block it out and I focused my attention on avoiding any further eye contact with Ethan.
He was most likely laughing by now and I didn't exactly feel like watching.
The game went on with more people doing various truths and dares, some more funny than others.
It was now April's turn. She crawled her way into the center of the circle, purposely making sure to brush against Ethan as she did so. She gave it a whirl and I watched in boredom as the fragile green bottle spun around once again. It was getting a little tedious to watch after so many rounds.
This time it landed on Ben. I chuckled and sat up straighter, knowing it was always way more entertaining when it landed on someone you actually knew.
"Dare," Ben said with confidence, as he looked at April with an easy smile on his face.
"Excellent. I dare you to kiss Mia." April said without hesitation.
What the fuck did she just say? She wanted him to kiss who now?
April gave me a sly smirk as she took in my frightened expression, as though she was concocting some kind of plan.
Ben just shrugged his shoulders, not seeming overly excited or disgusted by the dare. With a heavy sigh, he started to crawl his way over to me, while I stayed completely paralyzed in my spot.
Wait a second....
Was I about to have my first kiss in a game of bloody Truth and dare?
You've got to be kidding me.
