《Teaching At An All Boys School》Chapter 33- Key

"Coral? Can you hear me...?" I ask, knocking on the bathroom door again. I can't hear anything through the door.
"Coral, please. Just say something so that I know you're okay," I beg, incessantly knocking.
Nothing.
"Wait," I say to myself and look up, quickly walking to my old cupboard. I always kept the key to the bathroom, even though there is a different lock as well, because I thought the other lock could break and I might need the actual key.
I grab the key that's taped to the bottom of a drawer. "Please be okay," I whisper to Coral, a bad feeling settling in my gut. She would have opened the door by now if she was okay.
I push the door open and my heart drops to the bottom of my stomach. I stare in shock at the beautiful girl lying still in the dark red water.
"Coco, no," I whisper, rushing forward and pulling her out the bath. "No. No. No. No."
"Help!" I shout, starting to panic. I push the room door open, carrying Coral with one arm under her back and the other under her legs.
"Ash! Cole! Fucking help me," I scream, going towards their room. My mind won't stop screaming. "Help me! Call the ambulance!"
Cole pulls open the door and the boys walk out, confused. "Please," I look down at Coral. Her eyes are closed and her body is limp. My eyes go to the long cuts across her arms and a tear slips down my cheek.
I did this to her.
Cole pulls out his phone immediately and calls the ambulance. I look up at Ash and he is watching Coral with scared eyes.
"Is she... Is Coral dead?" he asks. I shake my head, staring down at her body. I pull her body closer to me and her head falls onto my shoulder.

"She's breathing. She's still breathing," I whisper. I let out a shakey breath.
I place a kiss on her head, and we all walk downstairs, to the entrance of the school. Luckily it's quite late, so nobody else can see what happened.
I wait for the ambulance. As much as I hate it, that is all I can do to help Coral right now.
I try to breathe properly but it's harder than I thought it would be. My heart is beating so fast that I am sure it might just explode any minute.
"Coral," I whisper and another tear slips down my face. "I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. Please keep breathing. I'm begging you."
The sound of the ambulance siren causes my to whip my head up in the direction of the sound. Oh, thank god.
"Wyatt, let's go in a different car," Ash says. The rest of the guys are here as well. Cole called everyone so we can be there for her at the hospital.
I look down at the girl in my arms. There is hair covering her slightly pale face. We should have been there for her earlier, when she needed it.
"No. You guys go in a different car. I'm not leaving her," I state as the ambulance jumps out the back of the van and walk up to us. They bring out a rolling bed that I can place her on, and I slowly and gently put her down.
I climb in the ambulance car and the other guys go in a different car. I sit down, biting the inside of my cheek. I can't believe I said all those things to her.
I close my eyes, and the memory of the way Coral's face looked when I told her I never loved her pops up, like a vivid picture. She looked so broken and hurt, yet I just walked away. I never imagined doing something like that.

How could I do that? I'm a monster.
The last thing I said to her is that I never loved her. I realized that it was the biggest mistake of my life after I walked away, and I ran back to tell her it was a mistake. It was a mistake. I love her more than anything, no matter what she did to me.
Now I might not even get the chance to tell her that.
I open my eyes and look up. The guy in the ambulance isn't doing anything, he is just holding a few gauze pads over her cuts, making me panic more. "Do something. Why aren't you doing anything?" I ask.
I lift her other hand, holding onto it tightly. I feel like if I let go she might leave me. I can't let her leave.
"Sir, the cuts are really deep. Unfortunately I can't do anything until we get to the hospital because she is going to need a blood transfusion and they are going to need to stop the internal bleeding caused by the cut artery, which we can't do in here," he explains to me and I nod.
I look up at Coral's pale face. Her hair and clothes are still wet and her body is so still that she almost looks... Dead.
She's not, she's alive. Coral is alive. She's breathing and she's going to be okay because I won't let her leave. My hand tightens against hers.
I won't let her leave.

I struggled under him and shoved him off of me. All of the guys were howling with laughter as I got up and swiped all the dirt off me.
