《Teaching At An All Boys School》Chapter 17- Pancakes

"Surprise!" Ash sings as we walk into a crowded bar.

I turn to Ash with a deadpan, "Your surprise is taking me to the bar you've taken me to almost every time we've been out together?" I ask, throwing my arms out in exasperation.

He just smiles and nods, taking my hand and pulling me towards the counter to get alcohol.

The only other place we have gone to is a little café that sells these amazing pancakes but it's nothing that great.

"Ash, I don't want to drink today. I know it's Friday but I have a lot of assignments to finish," I groan and Ash pouts, leaning closer to me.

"Baby, please?"

My eyes glance towards the rows of alcohol on shelves behind the bar. With a sigh, I nod, "Okay..." I uncertainly sit down on one of the back bar stools and Ash grins.

I wouldn't ever have had alcohol before but Ash has a fake ID so he manages to get it. The only reason he gets away with it is because he flirts with the gay barista.

Ash turns to the barista, "Shots. Keep them coming," the barista smiles and blushes when Ash winks at him. The poor guy nods then pulls out little shot glasses from under the bar, pouring alcohol into the glasses and sliding them towards us.

I groan "I don't think-" Ash cuts me off by placing his lips against mine.

I immediately pull away from him and stand up, "I'm going to the bathroom," I state and walk off without waiting for a reply for him.

What is wrong with him?

It's only been two months of me being at this school and the boys are already driving me insane.

All I'm saying is that if Ash ends up dead with a knife through his brain it definitely wasn't me.

I don't know how many dates we've been on, and yet he still doesn't want to ask me to be his girlfriend. I guess I did kind of cheat on him but he doesn't know that.

I walk into the dirty bathroom, locking one of the stalls and picking up my phone, dialing the first person I think of.

"Hey bébé," Cole answers the phone and I immediately smile.

"Cole, I need your help," I say, trying not to touch anything in the grubby stall.

"What can I do for you today, ma'am?" he asks.

"Who is that?" I hear Ed's voice in the background.

"Coral," Cole says in reply and then his voice gets louder as he puts the phone back on his ear. "Talk, my princess," he says to me and I just roll my eyes, grinning.

"You're so gay," I state and laugh and he starts laughing with me.

"Hahaha, you're so funny. Now talk," he demands.

"I'm out with Ash but he's trying to make me drink even though I can't because I have to finish that stupid accounting project and I need you to come get me because I know Ash won't leave but he's my ride back," I explain, sucking in a breath once I'm done with my explanation. I talked so fast that I don't even know if I made sense.

"Mm, but I was really busy with Ed," Cole whines and I scrunch my nose, hoping not to hear the details. "I'll tell Wyatt to come fetch you."

Before I can protest, the call ends and I let out a frustrated groan, unlocking the door and waking back to Ash.

Ash turns to look at me, a smile growing on his face as he points to some random girl who he was talking to and then back at me, "This is my friend Coral," he explains to the stranger and I internally scream.

The girl just nods and gives a small wave, "Hi, nice to meet you."

"Yeah, um, I'm leaving," I tell Ash and then walk away, deciding to wait in the cold air instead of with Ash.

He's been annoying but I still want him so freaking bad. I mean seriously, he called me a friend! I would consider myself a little more than that, at least.

I let out a frustrated groan and it reverberates through the empty streets. Why do I haven't be so stupid?

A car horn interrupts my thoughts and I turn to see Wyatt grinning at me with the windows down, "Hey girl, climb in my car. I swear I won't drive you insane," he says and then frowns. "Okay, that was supposed to be a pick up line but it didn't go very well."

He shares his head at himself, the grin not leaving his lips, "Come on, I'm here to save you," he leans over the passenger seat and pushes the door open for me.

"Thanks," I sigh and climb into the car.

"Sure," he says and then drives foward, away from the bar and away from Ash.

"Your boyfriend isn't any fun, huh?" Wyatt smirks, keeping his eyes on the road.

His hand accidentally brushes my thigh as he changes gear, making me look down at the part that suddenly started to tingle.

Ugh, what the hell? There is definitely something wrong with me.

"He's not my boyfriend," I mumble, staring out the window at the passing buildings.

Wyatt just laughs, "I see."

My phone buzzes in my bag and I pull it out, finding a message from Jason.

I sigh,

I smile and turn off my phone as we reach a traffic light, but my smile turns into a frown as I watch Wyatt reach for twenty bucks. He hands it to a beggar who has a blanket around his skinny shoulders.

The guy smiles, "Thank you kind sir. May God bless you and your girlfriend," the beggar looks at me and I nod, a soft smile on my lips.

Wyatt turns to look at me with the biggest smile on his face as he closes the window and drives, "Did you see that smile? That was so worth it."

My heart melts slightly as Wyatt's eyes shine, clearly proud that he made the stranger smile.
