《Teaching At An All Boys School》Chapter 8- Wet

I wake up, in the cold tent, to the sound of high pitched screams coming from outside.

Don't I go to an all boys school?

I slip on my jacket and shoes and walk out the tent, still in my pajamas and yawning. The sun has hardly come up yet so I would say it is around five in the morning.

I make my way to the lake, where the screaming is coming from, and thats when I realize what is happening.

All of the guys are standing at the edge of the lake, watching as Ash floats on a mattress in the middle of the ice cold water. He is freaking out and trying to balance so he doesn't get drenched in water.

"What's going on?" I ask Wyatt who is just standing and leaning against a tree with a smirk on his face. The counsellors and Mrs. Maxis are not here which means they are probably still sleeping in their dorms that I found out are behind the cafeteria.

"A little birdie told me that Ash kissed you." Wyatt says and then looks at Ash who is trying to paddle to shore but is failing miserably.

"So?" I ask, frowning.

"So," Wyatt leans down and picks up a pebble, throwing it at ash who manages to dodge it and not fall in, "Nobody touches you but me." he says and looks down at me.

"Got it, idiots?" Wyatt says to the rest of the guys and they all nod quickly, looking slightly scared.

"At least it wasn't your first kiss." Wyatt says and shrugs and I don't reply which makes him frown, "Ash took your first kiss?" He asks, looking shocked and mad.

I purse my lips, looking away so that I can avoid the question. It's kind of embarrassing that I haven't had my first kiss but I also don't mind, I guess I have had it now though.

Wyatt stays silent for a few seconds, until he leans down and picks up a huge rock, throwing it at Ash. Ash jumps out the way, falling straight into the water with a giant splash.

"Fuck!" Ash screams and starts swimming to the shore as fast as he can to get out the water. He makes it out and stands, shivering, as water drops off him and to the ground.

"Come on, it's not like I fucked her!" Ash says and squeezes the clothes to get rid of some of the water.

Wyatt just rolls his eyes and smiles, "Aww, babe, did I make you wet?" He asks, acting innocent as Ash shoots him a glare before trudging towards the bathrooms.

After the incident everyone was definitely awake and so we all got ready and showered. Cole got everyone out of the bathrooms to make sure that I showered alone and nobody saw me because the bathrooms had no shower doors, they are all open. He stood by the door and made sure nobody came in, even forcing one guy to pee in the bushes instead.

Then we were all called up to eat once the camp counsellors were awake and ready.

Jeff steps up onto the stage section of the room, "Right guys, today you will all be doing a full day hike up a path that goes to the top of a mountain and then back down again once you're done. It's a leadership camp which means it's a leadership exercise and you will all have to do it together without us. Understood?" he says in a firm tone and everyone groans but nods in compliance.

"Go put on walking shoes and be ready to leave in ten minutes." Jeff adds when everyone has finished their cereal or toast and eggs.

I had chocolate coco pops because I don't like eggs, except for the yolk. It just tastes boring and plain.

When everyone has put on their running shoes and filled their water bottles we all meet on a sand path that, from the looks of it, goes on for quite a while. From where we are standing only a few meters of the path is visible before it turns and leads off to wherever we have to walk to.

"So, you have to do this together, if you get lost please start whistling and we will come and find you. Be back by five." Lola says and smiles encouragingly at all of us.

We start off walking slowly up the path, everyone talking to each other but I walk in silence, staring at the yellowish sand of the path.

Left, left, left, left, right, left, left, left. My mind starts making my steps go in order with the beat of the words and I concentrate on that until one of the guys in the front stops and smiles at us.

"Guys, let's just chill here until five and then go down acting tired." he says and then walks off the path, into the trees and sits down on a large rock, pulling out his phone.

We all shrug and follow him, sitting on or around the rocks and relaxing in the shade, just taking or playing naughts and crosses on the rocks.

Ed sits across from me and smiles, showing his dimples, "So, Coral, let's talk." he says, attempting to start a conversation.

"Great leadership, guys." Another guy comments while we all sit and do nothing and I chuckle. Still better than exercise.
