《Teaching At An All Boys School》Chapter 7- Fire

I hug my jacket closer to my body as I sit next to Ash on a wooden log by the fire.

One of the guys are playing the song All We Know by The Chainsmokers. The song really fits the mood of the night.

It's absolutely freezing, which a complete change to how it was only a few hours ago. My feet feel like ice blocks even though I have shoes on and the fire is only slightly helping.

Some of the boys, including Wyatt, Cole and Ed, went off on a walk, claiming they were bored and needed to explore, and so the only familiar person I have is Ash.

He sees me shivering and chuckles then wraps his arm around my shoulder, pulling me into the warmth of his body. I let out a sigh of relief and close my eyes, leaning against him. This time I don't think he is doing it because he wants to get me out of my clothes.

He smells like mint and an expensive cologne and the smell makes me smile.

I am really tired and ready to fall asleep on Ash, even though it's only ten at night. I just don't want to go into my tent alone after what Mrs. Maxis said about the snakes. The only thing I hate more then snakes is the dark, so this is just perfect.

"You look so beautiful right now." Ash whispers. I open my eyes and see him looking down at me, the orange glow from the fire is being casted off his face and makes his features look even better then usual.

I smile and look down at my shoes, blushing slightly. As sad as it is, when I was in my old school none of the guys noticed me or hit on me at all because I was the nerdy girl.

I'm definitely still a nerd but now I'm a nerdy girl at an all boys school, so a few things have changed.

Ash lets me go and stands up, and the cold air immediately makes me feel like an ice cube again. He turns and sticks out his hand for me to take but I just stare at it in the dim light, not sure what he wants.

"Sweetheart, I won't eat you unless you want me to." he says and I roll my eyes, a slight smile playing on my lips.

With a sigh, I put my hand in his and he gently pulls me up and then puts an arm around my shoulder as we walk down towards the lake.

"I'm already freezing so don't even think about pushing me into that lake or tomorrow nobody will even remember your name, I swear to God, Ash." I warn and he just laughs as we stop just before the glistening dark water.

"I'm not an asshole, even if I might seem like it." he states and then we both go silent for a while.

I stare at the moonlight on the water, getting lost in it, but my thoughts are cut off when I hear Ash moving beside me. I look at him and he is pulling off his leather jacket and handing it over to me.

I just frown and give him a questioning look but he just rolls his eyes, "You said you're freezing so..." he looks at the jacket and then at me and I smile and shake my head.

"That's sweet but I'm okay, you can't freeze because of me." I state.

He just rolls his eyes again and puts the jacket over my shoulders, stepping closer to me as he does so, and the jacket immediately makes me feel warmer. "I didn't say I was cold." he whispers.

I just stay quiet and so does he, leaving us both standing close together. "So, um, would it be okay if I kissed you?" Ash asks and my eyes widen in shock.

"What?" I ask, incredulously.

Instead of answering, he leans down and places his soft and warm lips against mine. He moves his arms and wraps them around my waist, pulling me into him as I let him take my first kiss.

Yes, I'm a mouth virgin - shocker.

The kiss doesn't last long and he moves away from me, placing a kiss on my forehead and then smiling, "Sorry, I had to." he states and I don't say anything, not knowing how to comprehend the situation.

I just met him and he is already kissing me? Well this is going to be a long year.

I hear the rest of the guys coming back from their walk and huff out a breath of air, handing Ash back his jacket which he takes with a frown on his face.

"Did I do something wrong? Did I taste weird?" Ash runs a hand through his hair, looking worried. He actually tasted awesome, but I don't need to tell him that.

I smile down at the ground and then look back up at him, "Goodnight Ash." I whisper and then walk back to the tents, already feeling my eyes burning from tiredness.

"Night." I hear him whisper as he stands alone and looks at the water.
