《Daddy's Little Girl》Chapter 19

"Wake up, Em. We're home." After I say the words, I think about how much I wish they were true.

I wish we lived together, I wish they had my last name. I plan on rectifying that very soon.

She still doesn't stir, so I go over to her side and lift her out. Getting the door open is a challenge with her in my arms, but I manage. She fits perfectly in my arms, just like she belongs there and my body starts responding. My hard on is already poking into her back and going up the stairs is a challenge.

After I get her up the stairs I lie her down in bed and go back down for Cora. She fell asleep on the way home too. My girls were tuckered out.

Once Cora is in her bed, I pick out a pair of her jammies and work her into them.

I tuck her under the blankets and put her favorite stuffed animal in her arms. I press my lips to her forehead lightly. Then turn off the light and shut her door.

Em is still asleep in her bed, so I strip her as well and shed my clothing. I climb in and pull the duvet over both of us. She has been exhausted lately, but that is to be expected since she's basically doing everything for two. I pull her into my arms and place my hand over her still flat belly.

"Good night, little one. Good night, Em."

Time is honestly flying by, we had our second prenatal appointment and Em has a tiny bump now. It's really small, but I can't wait for her belly to grow with our child. She has been wearing more sweaters and other baggy clothing, but it will be nice to tell our family. I'm honestly so excited, our baby is the size of a plum now.

We are having a cookout today at Emily's to tell everyone. My family and hers are both coming, we thought it would be easiest to just tell everyone together.

"Hey, Brax? Where did you put the big can of green beans we bought?" Em's in charge of all the side dishes, and I'm in charge of the hotdogs and burgers. We thought it would be best to just split it up.

"I think they are in the cabinet to the left of the sink. Let me come get it, I don't want you to hurt yourself." She scares me daily whenever she picks up Cora or almost trips over the rug in the hallway. I walk in the kitchen and grab the can.

"Brax, you gotta let me do something! I'm fine, the baby is fine. But so help me God, if you don't let me pick up the 5 pound can of green beans, you won't be fine!" I grin at her and rub her belly. She relaxes and lays her head on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry, Em. I just want to keep you two safe. I'm gonna go get Cora, she wanted to help me with the grill. Love you!" She watches my ass when I walk out of the room. Out of all the pregnancy side effects, I definitely enjoy that one. She practically demanded I give her sex last week, it's safe to say that I obliged.

"Buttercup, are you ready to help me with the grill?" She comes running and I pick her up when she gets to me.

"Yesssss!" We go cook the meat and by the time I finish, everyone is due to arrive any minute.

"Hey Cora, you know how we told you there is a baby in mommy's belly?" We told her yesterday, because we didn't want her to spill the beans.

"Yeah, I'm gonna have a baby bwother or sister!" She is ecstatic too.

"Well, Grandma Jo, Grandma May, Grandpa Leo, Grandpa Jack, Uncle Ethan, and Aunt Charlotte don't know yet. We are going to tell them tonight, so you can't tell anyone okay?"

She gives me a crazy nod and then I hear a car pull into the driveway.

Go time.

"Hey, guys!" Everyone starts pulling in and before we know it, everyone is here.

"Before we eat, we want to tell you all something." Emily's voice is happy, but I can tell she is a little worried. The last time she told them, she didn't have anyone by her side.

I grab her hand and rip off the bandaid.

"We are having another baby!"

Everyone rushes us at the same time.

Her mom wraps us both in a soul crushing hug and everyone is congratulating us.

"Sorry, I was gonna do a more approached way, but as you can see he is a little excited." Everyone laughs and I don't even try to deny it, it's completely true.

"How far along are you?" My sister is hugging me now, which isn't too surprising. It's kind of her thing.

"We are 12 weeks along as of yesterday!" Even I can hear the pride in my voice as I pull Em closer. I place my hand on her bump and the room suddenly looks there.

"So that's why you didn't drink at our house! I knew something was up!" I really didn't know if my mom would buy it, but it wasn't as if I could say she had an allergy or something.

"Yeah, sorry, we just weren't ready to tell anyone yet."

"So how long have you two known?" My sister is just full of questions tonight, but she's probably not too far away from this herself.

"We found out at 6 weeks. Now before any more questions, let's eat!" Everyone laughs and starts grabbing plates.

This really couldn't have gone better. I'm so glad that we ran into each other that day at the cafe. Otherwise, I wouldn't know about Cora or even have another little one due in 6 months. I definitely wouldn't know I'm in love with the most beautiful woman I've ever seen, my Em.
