《The Lilly Within the Ashes》Ch 15

I haven't seen her for the last three days and the only thing I have been close with was the bottles of whiskey that scatter across my office floor. I have been miserable without her and every damn thing reminds me of her. The couch in front of me, she sat in that. The book cases, she grazed her perfect hands across those spines. I just can't get away from her for one damn minute.

Maria has informed me that Lilly looks terrible and won't take care of herself. Just thinking about her suffering makes me take another swig from the bottle in my hands. I have been trying to figure out a way to explain myself without making things even worse than they are now. But with a heavily intoxicated system, thinking of a plan wasn't a main priority I could get to.

"That's it!" I growl and stand up from my chair. I throw the empty bottle in my hand at the wall, shattering glass everywhere. I can't stand not seeing her beautiful face anymore. I have to see her or I might die from fucking alcohol poisoning.

I stumble out of my office and head straight over to our room. Without knocking, I slam the door open. "L-Lilly we-we need to..." My brain finally processed that she wasn't on the bed. Panic starts to course through my veins. "LILLY?!" I scream. I start looking into the bathroom, closet, I flip the bed and dressers. My heart drops when I see she is not in the room. I run out of the room on my wobbly legs and start screaming for her. Tears start to form in my eyes. She can't leave me! Why would she leave?! By now I'm about to start sobbing.

"Woah Jason calm down! She's in the garden." Anger takes over my panic state. I grab the collar of his shirt and get his face right in front of mine. "Why didn't you tell me before I started tearing this house apart?" I grit through my teeth. Anthony gulps with a look of fear and concern on his face. Deciding that I rather see my Angel then beat the shit out of him, I let him go.

I somehow make it to the garden without falling over and am graced with a gorgeous sight. Lilly was sitting near the fountain, staring at the statue of Aphrodite. The sun was hitting her face, making her look like an actual angel. I stare at her for a little while longer but after a few minutes, my drunken mind thought it was a good idea to just start talking. "We nnnneed to ta-talk!" I blurt out. She instantly jumps from her sitting position and stares at me with wide eyes. "Oh. Okay." she whispers.

So that's where I told her everything. And I mean everything. I let her know I am the fifth generation to take over mi familia's (my family's) mafia after my father died four years ago from cancer. I tell her that her parent's borrowed $2 million from me to pay for her college tuition and to start a company that later completely failed. I was supposed to "talk" to her parents about returning my money, but someone close to me got there before I was able to.

Letting all of this out allowed a huge weight to be lifted off of my shoulders. Although I didn't make myself sound like a good guy, I also didn't make myself sound like Satan either. I couldn't tell what she was thinking though. She just sat there with no expression on her perfect face.

I don't know how to respond. Mainly because I know he is heavily intoxicated and I don't know if I can take everything he said to heart. I finally decided that it would be better for both of us to just go back to the house.

"Come on Jason." I say while walking out of the garden ahead of him. Within seconds he grabs to my hand tightly and leans on to me. I try to leave his grip, but he keeps tightening his hold. As we pass the kitchen, I grab him a glass of water and some pain killers for his head tomorrow.

I never thought this macho mafia man would act like such a baby while drunk. He wouldn't let go of my hand, whined when I told him to drink some of the water, and didn't want to get into the shower to wash off the smell of alcohol. "Jason. You need to get into the shower." I sigh for the umpteenth time. "Nooooooo! You can't leave me!" I swear this man was getting on my nerves. For god's sake I feel like a mother right now.

"Just shower with me Lilly." A blush instantly spread across my face and down my neck and I look down at my feet. "N-no Jason. You can shower on your own." I look back up at him and a stupid smirk was on his face. That jerk knew exactly what he was doing! We argued for a little longer and finally decided that I will sit on the vanity while he took a shower.

I'm now sitting on the sink with my eyes closed while Jason took his clothes off. "Um Angel. I'm stuck." he giggled. I looked up at him and he was definitely stuck. One arm was sticking up while the other arm was bent at a weird angel inside the shirt. His head was no where to be seen since the shirt engulfed it. It took every muscle in my body to not laugh. I carefully went over to him and had him bend down. It took only a minute or two to untangle him. When done, he just stood there, ready to pass out. Sucking it up, I closed my eyes and helped him out of his pants and boxers as well and lead him over to the shower.

So embarrassed, I decided to just head to the bedroom to get a breather. "Liiiillllllyyyyy!" I hear Jason cry out from the shower. Lord please give me strength I thought. I walk back into the bathroom to see him in his boxers. I sigh and drag him over to the bed and he flops face first into the comforter.

"Jason why are you drunk?" I ask. His response was a grunt while he was still face down on the bed. Having enough dealing with his drunk butt, I start to leave but am stopped by him grabbing my wrist. "Come cuddle with me beautiful." he mumbles while his eyes are half way open. Before I could even reply, he yanks my arm so my body falls on top of him with a big "oof" coming from me. His arms wrap around me, causing my cheek to smoosh into his hard chest.

"I really like you Lilly. I like you so much that I think I'm in love with you." he mumbles. My breathing instantly stops and my eyes became saucers. "Whoops!" he chuckles. "I didn't mean to tell you that." With a yawn, he passed out. For me, I was wide awake, trying to understand what just happened.
