Laura pov.

After taking a shower, I went to put on some new clothes. I had told Amos, Luka and my dad to meet me in 20 minutes in Ross's office, before I took a shower. So when I put on some clothes, I looked in the mirror to see if I looked okay and went to Ross's office.

The walk to his office was short and quiet, probably because everyone was tired from the training and were sleeping in their beds.

When I reached the door to Ross's office I opened it and saw Ross, Luka and my dad talking. The only one who wasn't here was Amos.

I smiled when I saw them and walked over to Ross's side. Ross smiled and pulled me in his lap, while kissing my forehead.

''Do I smell know?'' Ross mind liked me. I chuckled.

''You could take one more shower.'' I mind linked him back. He growled and pulled me closer, while putting his head in my neck. I smiled and leaned into him.

''Don't lie. You love how I smell.'' Ross mind liked me, but I didn't answer. I looked away to hide my blush from everyone. I felt him smile against my neck and pull me even closer, if that was even possible.

''Where is Amos?'' I asked out loud and just when I finished my sentence Amos walked in.

''I'm here. Don't worry.'' Amos said smiling. He walked and sat down on the couch with the book in his hand.

''So now that we all are here let's start.'' I said. I looked at my dad and Luka, ''Remember when you guys found the book that you gave me about the White wolfs?'' I asked them.

''Yes. What about it?'' Luka asked.

''Well the book was stolen from Amos some years ago,'' I said ''and we wanted to ask you if you remember where you found it.''

''Oh, well I found it at the border of my territory.'' Luke said and I nodded.

''So you weren't the ones who took it from my home in Africa?'' Amos asked.

''No, we haven't even been in Africa.'' Luka said and my dad nodded.

''So that means someone else took it,'' Ross said ''but why would it be lying in the dirt?''

''I don't know.'' Luka said.

''The real question is who took it,'' Amos said ''and why.''

''We need to talk.'' I said when Ross walked in our room.

''What's wrong?'' he asked worried and came to sit next to me in bed, ''Is everything okay?''

''I don't know is it?'' I asked him and he looked at me confused.

''What do you mean?'' Ross asked me worried and took my hands.

''Every night you wake up and go away.'' I said and he looked down, ''Why? Is everything okay?'' I asked, ''Are...are you cheating on me?'' he immediately looked up.

''Of course not. I would never cheat on you. I love you Laura.'' Ross said looking in my eyes.

''Then what are you doing every night?'' I asked him.

Ross looked away, ''I couldn't sleep. I'm always thinking of you and that war. I can't lose you Laura. I just can't.''

I put my hand under his chin and pulled it towards me so he was looking in my eyes, ''Hey, you will never lose me. I'm going be with you till the end.'' I said.

''That's why I was away every night.'' he said and I looked at him confused, ''I was in my office trying to think of everything I could so that the end doesn't come as fast.''

''Ross...'' I said with sadness, ''Everything is going to be okay.''

''I'm scared.'' Ross admitted.

''Hey, look at me.'' I said when he turned his head away, ''I'm scared too. It's okay to be scared. I bet everyone in this house is scared.''

''I know I just...''Ross started but didn't continue.

''Come on,'' I said and pulled him with me in the bed. I lied down and Ross put his head on my chest. He put his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him. I put my hands in his hair slowly massaging it, ''Relax and just sleep.'' I said while he tangled his legs with mine.

''I love you.'' he whispered.

''I love you.''

''Morning beautiful.'' Ross said as I opened my eyes. I smiled at him and kissed him.

''How did you sleep?'' I asked him when I pulled away. He smiled and pulled me closer.

''Never better.'' he said and I smiled but the smile soon disappeared.

''I see you are sleeping with your mate.'' someone said in my mind. Derek. I looked around but saw no one. Where is he? How is this possible?

''Is everything okay Laura?'' Ross asked worried but I just ignored him and kept looking around. All my senses were on high alert.

''Shouldn't you be protecting your pack instead?'' he said again and blocked me. What is he talking about?

Suddenly I smelt fire and a lot of it. I jumped out of bed and ran as fast as I could towards it. I could hear Ross yelling my name and running after me from behind but I just ignored him and continued to run. The pack was in danger.

I ran out of the pack house and shifted in my wolf and ran even faster. I need to save them. I saw Ross besides me running and could feel some wolves behind me but I ignored them. I needed to get to the fire faster.

When we were getting I could tell that Ross started to smell the fire as well and he growled. The wolves who were behind me growled as well.

When I got there I growled. A house was on fire. Pack members were screaming and trying to stop the fire from getting bigger but it wasn't working. I could sense some of the pack member inside the house who were trapped so I shifted back to human form and ran inside the house.

''Lura!'' I heard Ross screaming my name but I ignored it. I needed to get the pack members out.

I could sense someone in the kitchen so I ran there. I looked around in the kitchen but I couldn't find anyone, ''Where are you?'' I asked the person.

''I'm under here.'' Someone said under the table scared. I ran there as fast as I could. I looked down and there was a woman in her thirties crying. I helped her as fast as I could to get her out of there. ''Please my baby is up there.'' She said.

I nodded and helped her out of the house. When she walked of the house I let her go and ran back inside. I now could hear the baby screaming.

I ran up the stairs as quickly as I could. The fire didn't affect me so it was easy to move around.

I ran inside every room looking for it. It may be easy for me to walk in fire but my nose senses were not as strong as before because of the smoke. In every room I also looked if there was someone else but there weren't so when I found the baby I quickly ran out of the house. I saw the woman I rescued before and ran up to her.

''My baby... thank you!'' she said and took the baby from my hands. I smiled at her and nodded my head.

I turned around when I gave her the baby and looked at the house. I growled. Derek will pay for this.

I raised my hands controlling the fire. The fire went up and the house was no longer filled with fire. I moved my hands in a circle and made the fire swirl. Soon after the fire disappeared.

''Laura are you okay?'' Ross asked as he ran up to me and pulled me close. I nodded but looked at the woman and the baby that I rescued who now was being held by a man still crying. I pulled away from Ross and walked up to them.

''What happened?'' I asked her and saw Ross walk next to me. She looked up to me scared.

''I don't know Luna. I was just in the kitchen making breakfast for my baby and husband and suddenly I smelt smoke. I thought it was the food but it wasn't. Then a strong wind came and fire was everywhere. I tried to get to my baby but I couldn't. Fire was everywhere.'' She explained crying.

''It's okay now. You're safe. Your baby is safe.'' I said and turned around, ''Help the woman and her family. Take them to the doctor and make a room for them in the pack house.''

''Thank you.'' The man, who I guess is her husband, said while holding his wife and his child. I gave them a small smile and ran away.

''Laura! Wait!'' I heard Ross yell but I continued to run. I knew he would catch me sooner or later so why stop? I needed to run right now.

''Laura!'' he yelled again and like I guessed he was right in front of me in seconds, ''Are you okay?''

''Yes I'm fine.'' I said and continued to walk. He came besides me and stopped me.

''What do you know about the fire?'' Ross asked.

''What do you mean?'' I asked him confused.

''I know that you know something that I don't know. What is it Laura?'' Ross asked me again looking in my eyes.

''Derek. He made the fire.'' I said growling. Ross growled as well.

''But how?'' he asked me angry, ''He can't control fire.''

''Yes but he can control the wind and you heard the woman. The wind made the fire go in the house'' I explained and Ross continued to growl.

''That bastard. I'm going to kill him'' Ross growled out.

''We will. By the end of tomorrow he will be dead.''
