Ross pov.

''Are we there yet?'' my sister asked me and James. I pulled into a long driveway that lead to the place where the event will be held.

''Yes'' James answered her and they looked out the windows.

''Wow, it's so beautiful!'' Jane said and I nodded.

''It is.'' James agreed with us.

I pulled up to the red carpet and we climbed out of my car. Some few cars pulled up behind mine. I gave the keys to my car to a guard and walked up the stairs with James and Jane by my side.

We walked through the long hall and reached the big doors that led inside the ballroom and walked inside

My wolf was acting weird all of sudden. He was trying to take control and run.

''What's wrong?'' I asked him.

''Do you smell that? It's so good!'' he answered me and I smelled the air. He was right. A scent so beautiful was lingering in the air.

I heard a man say mine, James and my sister's name but I ignored him. I was looking around the room to find where the scent was coming from.

I looked at everyone in the ballroom but the scent wasn't from them. I looked at the right side of the ballroom and saw Alpha Luke and his Beta next to him. He was talking with a group of werewolves. Two girls had their back towards me. A girl that was facing me, watched me and then talked to the girl with her back towards me.

I looked closely at the girl with the dark brown hair. She looked beautiful from the back. Her blue dress made her look so good. It hugged her curves just perfectly. And those long legs were just so perfect. I was sure that she looked beautiful from the front as well.

I didn't understand why both of the girls were facing the other way but I just continued to look again for the scent to be sure where the scent was coming from.

I looked all the way to the end of my right and then back at the girl. The scent was definitely coming from their group.

It was quick but I caught it. The girl that was facing her back towards me was about to turn but then Luke's sister said something while looking at me and the girl quickly turned around again.

There was something about that girl but I couldn't put my finger on it. My wolf felt calm when he was looking at her.

And giving her my last look I finally walked down the stairs and wasn't able to see her anymore. I tried to look for her but I didn't see anything.

James pulled me with him towards the other side of the ballroom from where the girl was standing.

''Do you smell that?'' James asked me and I nodded.

''Yeah, the smell of daisies mixed with rain is coming from there'' I answered and he looked at me weird.

''Daisies? No it's the smell of spring.'' James answered and I looked at him.

Is he stupid? Does his nose not work anymore? It's clearly the smell of daisies and rain mixed together. I do not smell anything of spring.

''I don't smell anything.'' Jane joined our conversation, ''I think you two are just high''

''No I am not!'' James defended himself and I just stayed quit, trying to look for the girl.

''Yeah right! You act like you are high all the damn time! How do I know when you are not!'' Jane said with a smirk and James growled.

''Alpha Ron of Bluerings pack!'' the man introduced Ron before James could say something back to Jane. I looked up at the end of the stairs and watched as the Alpha walked down with his Beta and mate by his side. He was holding his mates arm and she smiled up to him.

I have always wanted a mate. Ever since I turned 16 I looked for her but I just couldn't find her.

I would always feel jealous when I would see some mates in my pack. They would walk in hands, the male would put his arm around his mate to protect her, they would share kisses here and there.

I wanted that. I wanted someone to protect. Someone I could love. Someone who would love me. But I couldn't find her. I just needed to wait.

When Ron and his pack members walked down, alpha Luke walked up on the stage with his beta and third in command by his side.

''Welcome to The Moonlight pack! I am happy to see you all here to celebrate with my pack the creation of The Moonlight pack!'' he said into the microphone and everybody clapped, ''The Moonlight pack was formed 60 years ago by my great-great-grandfather Robert Beck on this day with the full moon shining on us. I am proud to be the Alpha of this pack that was created on such a beautiful time! We have made some great friends and allies over the years and I am happy to see you all here with us!'' Luke said and again the crowd clapped.

''I hope you all enjoy the night! And thank you to my pack mates for helping me plan this night. Thank you Dylan, my beta, Jackson, my third in command, Molly, my sister, and thank you Laura and Emma, my dear friends, as well. Can you 3 come up here please?'' Luke asked and was looking at someone in front of the stage. I couldn't see because people were standing in front of me.

Then later when the 3 girls were walking up the stairs to the stage, I finally saw them. I looked at the girl in the blue dress but her back just like last time was facing me. I couldn't see her face. I was getting frustrated with that.

''Mate'' James whispered and I looked at him. He was looking at the girl in the black dress. That was the other girl whose back was facing me before. But know I could see her from the front. She did look beautiful and James was lucky to have such a beautiful mate by his side. But I could smell her, she was not a werewolf. She was a human. But I didn't give a crap about it.

I don't care if I had a human as a beta female. At least my beta has a mate. Lucky bastard.

''Thank you all! Enjoy the night!'' Luke said again and everybody clapped again.

I looked back at the girl whose back was still facing me. Just turn around dammit!

And right as I thought that the girl turned around and I could see her perfectly now.

She was beautiful. Her brown hair, brown eyes, those long black lashes, full pink lips that were just calling my name... She just looked perfect and amazing in every way possible.

And before I knew what was happening, a loud growl came out of my chest and she looked at me and our eyes locked.

''Mate'' that was the only word that came out of my mouth and the only thing I needed to say to let everyone know why I growled.

She paled and looked scared. I growled even lauder and started walking towards the stage. I needed her in my arms and nothing is going to stop me from doing just that.

Laura pov.

''Mate'' he said and started to walk towards me, not taking his eyes off of me. Everyone walked back and made a path so he could reach me with no problem. I was shaking with fear. What do I do?

''Laura'' Emma whispered quietly next to me with fear in her voice. I quickly looked at her and saw her looking in my mate's direction. I looked back at my mate and only then did I see his beta walking behind him growling as well. His beta was looking at Emma and growling.

I growled at that. He is not going to hurt my best friend.

My mate and his beta walked up the stage. My mate was about to walk towards me but I growled at him and then at his beta. I stood in front of Emma protecting her from his beta.

His beta growled at me. I was standing in the way of his prey.

He is not going to hurt my friend just because she is human. He has to go through me first.

My mate looked at his beta and growled at him because he growled at me and then looked at Emma and then back at me.

I growled when he took a step forwards. Emma whimpered behind me.

I saw Molly walk next to me with Jack, Dylan and Luke by her side. They all stood with me in front of Emma protecting her from the beta.

My mate took another step forward and now it was my brother that growled at him and walked in front of me. Dylan, Luke and Molly followed him and now they stood in front of me and Emma, protecting us.

I took Emma's hand and pulled her into my side. No one is going to hurt her. Not even my mate.

My mate growled at my friends, ''My mate!''

His beta growled as well and I growled back at him.

''Let me get to my mate!'' Ross, my mate, growled at my friends.

I growled at him. He didn't even care that his beta was thinking about killing my human friend!

Ross looked at me with hurt in his eyes when he heard me growl at him but I didn't care. If he is letting his beta kill my friend just because she is human then he deserves my growl and so much more!

I guess the rumors are true after all...My mate is a monster....

''Then tell your beta to back off of my friend!'' I growled at him and he looked at me confused. He looked at his beta who was growling and looking at Emma.

''You think he is going to kill her because she is human?'' Ross asked me when he turned to look back at me. His beta whimpered when he heard his Alpha say that. I looked at the beta confused. Emma heard the whimper as well and she looked up at him.

He was looking at her with sadness in his eyes. With regret.

''She is his mate!'' Ross said to me and I relaxed a little bit.

''Then why is he growling at her!'' Molly asked him, still guarding us, just like the boys.

''Because he just saw his mate god dammit!'' he said angry at her, ''I growled as well when I saw my mate or are you deaf? And all four of you are guarding our mates and not letting us get to them! What do you think we would do!''

''He was growling at me when he was coming here!'' Emma spoke up next to me. I smiled inside my head when I realized that she just talked back to an alpha, ''No one was standing in front of me then!''

''I'm sorry'' Ross's beta finally spoke up and I felt Emma shiver next to me, ''I didn't mean to scare you. My wolf just took control when he saw you.''

I looked at Emma and she nodded at him slowly.

I smiled at that and heard a groan. I looked at Ross who just did that and he already was looking at me.

''Will you four just let me go to my mate already?!'' Ross said angry and they all looked at me. I nodded at them and they slowly walked away.

Immediately Ross walked towards me and pulled me in his arms with his nose in my neck.

''Finally'' he whispered against my neck and I let out a small smile.

I couldn't move. My hands were by my side because I didn't manage to pull them apart from my body before Ross hugged me. So I was stuck now but I didn't mind it.

I heard the crowd clap and I looked at them. They were all smiling. Some were still shocked from what happened just seconds ago.

I looked at Emma who just like me was in her mates arms. But unlike mine, her arms were free. Lucky!
