《The Diner Girl》CHAPTER 20: Hold Up!!.....

I really hated the fact I had to leave her when I had a whole romantic day planned out. But Carusso came early and demanded for us to meet with him today just outside of town.
As we pulled up to a shitty lot with no other buildings around or anything, we started walking up towards the little office that you see construction workers use onsite.
Before we could knock, some big ass guy who looked a lot like a bouncer was wearing an expensive nice suit.
"Come in. Boss is waiting." He says.
We walk in and to the right there sitting behind a desk looking at us with all his men, except Turro for some reason, are all standing around glaring at us.
"Mr. Evanhall. Please, take a seat." He gestures with his hand to the two seats in front of him.
"So....." I started.
"I'm gonna stop you right now. I have other meetings to attend tonight so I don't plan on this taking very long." He stops me.
"Alright then." I begin. "Why don't you go first then?!" I smirk at him.
"Here's the deal, I am willing to pay the same amount as you would have gotten anyways for whatever business we were gonna do originally, though now, instead I have a better proposition." He says.
"What's that?" I ask suspiciously.
"I've been looking for my daughter for a while now and I haven't been able to find her yet. I thought at first she might have come to your town because her mother grew up there. In fact, do you know if there's ever been an Emma Carusso in your town in the past few months?" He asks me.
"No. Is that your daughter?" I ask him.

"Yes. I'll tell you what, I'll pay you eighty-five million dollars to find her." He offers.
"So let me see if I understand this, you want me and my men to find your daughter and you'll pay us $85 million dollars?" I ask him.
"Yes. Because I need my daughter to come back. There are things that are going on that I need to protect her from." He states.
"Okay...." I reply.
Neko leans in towards me and I do the same towards him as we begin to speak lowly.
"What are you thinking?" He asks me.
"I'm thinking we could do it. It would be better than selling illegal guns or whatever we would have agreed in doing with him." I explain.
He nods his head and then we sit back up in our chairs.
"So?" He asks while looking back and forth between me and Neko then back at me.
"You have a deal." I tell him while leaning forward to shake his hand and he stands up and leaves with his men after telling me that he will send a picture and information about his daughter.
Before me and Neko leave, we watch them get in their nice dark tinted windowed black Escalades drive off.
"You sure we should be doing this?" Neko asks me.
"I think this will be easier." I remind him.
"Alright." He says after letting out a breath.
We start heading back to the house and I'm real happy because it's still early enough for me to take Korah out.
Before taking off, I texted her to let her know that we were on our way back but she never texted me back.
As soon as we pull up in the driveway and head inside the house, I see Brie start to come from the living room and hugs both me and then Neko.

"Glad you guys are home. Abe, something's wrong with Korah." She says.
"What do you mean? Is she sick?" I ask her.
"No. She seemed upset for some reason though." She says. "She's been in her room since a few minutes after you guys left "
"Alright, I'll go and check on her." I tell her then start making my way upstairs and knock on her door.
"Please go away." I hear her say in a sad tone.
"Please open up. What's wrong?" I ask.
I don't hear anything until a few seconds later when I hear her unlocking the door and then opens it up and I notice her eyes are puffy.
"Why didn't you tell me?!" She asks.
"Tell you what?" I asked a little worried and freaked out.
She next holds up a photo of me and my club that had one of the coolest people I've ever known.
"Why didn't you ever mention you knew my brother Derrick and that he was a part of your crew?!" She asks.
"Wait, hold up, your brother was David Waverton?" I ask confused.
"David Waverton?! No! His name is Derrick Carusso and...." She started to rant but then stopped.
"Oh my god, wait, if he's your brother then you're...." I started and she stopped me.
"That's right, Emma Carusso!" She spits out towards me.
I quickly get into the room and lock the door behind me and start walking towards her.
"Hold up! I'm confused as fuck right now! You and David-I mean Derrick, are related to the leader of the mafia, Carusso?" I ask her.
"That's right!" She snaps.
"Well shit, why the hell didn't you tell me before?!" I snap at her.
"Because I ran away if you must know. I didn't know I would have to come clean so fast and in this way but when I saw this..." She says and it's my turn now to stop her.
"Stop it!" I tell her.
"I will not until you explain to me what the hell my brother was doing in your club?!" She scowls at me with her hands on her hips.
"Alright, I'll explain to you about everything you want to know as long as you explain to me why you ran away and why you changed your identity?!" I mention.
"Fine. But you first." She says as we walk over towards the bed and plop down.
